TV/MoviesRe: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by Maxxim: 5:48pm On Sep 10, 2024
OhBritannia:
Queen woo episodes 1 to 4 (part 1) is a solid 9/10 for me

Koreans are slowly taking over when it comes to making good series even with their low budgets as compared to Hollywood.

This is one of the best series i have enjoyed watching this year and if you think the game of thrones, house of cards have dark political plots then wait till you watch queen woo.
This is the series with the darkest political plots i have seen in a long time.
From family to allies to friends to enemies, everyone is planning one thing or the other.

Storyline 10/10
Sex and nudity 8/10
Dialogues 8/10
Thrill 10/10
Action 8/10

I can't wait for the episodes 5 to 8 to be released later this month.
For real guys, South koreans are taking over.
Wasn't expecting the sex scenes to be that intense, at some point I had to confirm if I was watching a Korean series
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Have No Chance For Second Term, Power Is Going Back To The North by Maxxim: 9:21am On Sep 06, 2024
Funniest shit is that the politicians who seems to be indifferent now will rally around Tinubu in the next coming election, until the masses understand it's not about Tribe and religion it's more about the poor vs the rich, then ya'll get your shit right.

Expect the prices of those to skyrocket.

Their policies always have a reverse effect.
Actually, the government is only putting this out because they've calculated the harvest time. A handful of farmers on social media are claiming that a lot of food will soon hit the market, and the government is taking advantage of this.

RomanceRe: "I Had Sex With Everybody I Wanted To Now It’s Time To Get Married" - Girl by Maxxim: 1:53am On Aug 28, 2024
The good thing about the internet is how it has shown some behaviors among women that people might not have noticed before.
About some decades ago, many men once in love thought of women as perfect, that angel like, but the internet makes it easier to see flaws and issues in the people you might want to spend your life with.
You might start noticing things that don't match your expectations, following that rabbit hole it can become clearer why some relationships might need to end. Even if you care a lot, you'll have no option than to stay rational and think about what’s best for your reputation.

Kobojunkieee:
1. Are you certain you understand the meaning of the word contradiction at all? 🤔

2. LOL... so, what you are saying is that even though the many, mostly illiterate northerners who went out across the North, some from IDP camps in the zone, came out because they were considered about some regionalism bill? Kai! Some of you just dey pack bullsheet around like say na gold, I tell ya! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s obvious that your knowledge are limited about how Nigerian politics work and the influence that tribal leaders and religious scholars, especially in the north, have over different groups. I'll leave you to it. Goodnight.
PoliticsRe: Nationwide Protest: North Was Deceived – Adamu Garba by Maxxim: 10:10pm On Aug 02, 2024
Kobojunkieee:
So, the President and his many senators who have come out to speak against the protest are not APC? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Abeg, make I waka pass, o'jare! grin
Stop contradicting yourself. If you think the causes of the current hunger protests in the north and south are aligned, you're just a naive political student.
If you were paying attention, you'd have noticed the northern uproar started with the regionalism bill, which highlights the nepotism within each tribe in this country.
PoliticsRe: Nationwide Protest: North Was Deceived – Adamu Garba by Maxxim: 8:40pm On Aug 02, 2024
Kobojunkieee:
From what I know, the APC politicians came up with the lies regarding how protests should be linked with the protest and as such pushed the No Protest agenda, and from the much I know, APC politicians all across all regions of Nigeria joined the bandwagon. So, I am not certain what aspect of the lie you sort of spin you think to be true instead. undecided
What you know isn't fact, quote me with real fax/ data

Please stop spreading this lie, even if you do it out of complete ignorance!

The North which you are ignorant of protested during the EndSars. Even women in Katsina called for Buhari to step down from Government.

EndSars call for Buhari to resign from Katsina Women

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4X9a1fsreQ?si=1VAwrMDFJt6Pqp63

There are so many other videos out there from all the other States recorded back in October of 2020 of #EndSars protests across the North.
Where's the lie, which part of the country first orchestrated the No Protest idea, some part of the core north even came out to show their solidarity towards the past president.

I'm not even interested in this conversation actually, but it's really funny mate and I can't help but post my reaction

One year today I left Nigeria. I won't lie even though my research was solid, I was still very scared. I remember when the plane crossed the Andes mountains and the pilot mentioned they were landing in Santiago in 40 minutes I was super scared. My mind was like this isn't Google, reddit, wikipedia or the economist. This is real life. A place with hardly any Nigerians or anyone. No one speaks English.

A year later, I am proud to say coming here was the second best decision I have made in my entire life. Men, I will always bet on myself always. Men in this life, whatever comes to your mind go and do it. It's better to do it and fail than to not do it at all. I don't even believe in failure. It's a social construct. The real failure in life is not doing or taking any action at all.

I believe even if I came here and it didn't work out in anyway for me, I would still have had the experience of at least knowing another country, making friends and also knowing a new language. But men I have found everything I want here. I have friends, I have girls, I have good jobs. I have everything everything I want or need
Congratulations bro
PoliticsRe: Thousands Of Dollars Flown Out Of Nigeria Every Hour – INTERPOL VP Africa by Maxxim: 6:04pm On Jul 30, 2024
IbeOkehie:
Nigerians voted for the wrong policies that were promised by APC.

When PDP came into government in 1999, cement was scarce. Nigeria was a major importer of cement. All cement factories were 100% owned or majority owned by government....Nkalagu, CCNN, Benue Cement and so on.

PDP under Obasanjo launched the Cement Reverse Integration Program I think in 2003. The programme implemented

1) the SALE of all cement factories to private investors like Dangote and BUA, others like Lafarge also built new cement plants.

2) the DEREGULATION of cement prices.

3) Unfortunately, it also imposed barriers to importation.

By 2011 or maybe 2015, Nigeria had become self sufficient in cement and even an EXPORTER of the commodity.

When I was a little boy, there was always scarcity of cement, I remember my father and his friends looking and running all over the country looking for cement. There were at least TWO MAJOR CEMENT SUBSIDY SCANDALS, called the cement armada scandals under Presidents Gowon in the 1970s and Shagari in the 1980s, where government paid billions of dollars for phantom cement. Maybe young people need to go look up these things. Read your history. That's why you have internet, it's not just for watching comedy skits and pornography.

So we can say at least PDP made cement available. There was even a period when BUA and Dangote were engaged in competitive pricing and the price of cement went down for months. In real dollar terms, I bet the prices have still gone down.

So GOOD POLICY MATTERS and the good policy we need is SAP....massive privatization of enterprises and resources & deregulation of prices.
Privatization and deregulation improved cement, telecoms, broadcasting and banking some universities and air transport. It's undeniable, it took over 10 years to do in each case. If Nigerians want a better economy in the next 10 years, the time to re-start SAP is now. It requires some BRAVERY, some willingness to endure hardship. That's just what it takes.

Look at the EVIDENCE, forget feelings, observe and do some research.

Good Luck to Nigerians.
This means Nigeria still has decades of consistent, effective privatization policies ahead to become its best version. Thanks for sharing the insights

Yes and subsidies and price regulations are the MAJOR cause of corruption. angry

The point is EXACTLY THAT....government doesn't and shouldn't have responsibility for the people EXCEPT for law, order and justice. That's all. That's what FREEDOM is about, that is what everyone should be fighting for. Anyone that PAYS for your stuff also CONTROLS your life. Ask any teenager about their parents and control.

Nigerians, stop being dependent like teenagers, act like adults. Grow up!!!

Good Luck to Nigeria.
This actually sounds convincing but then, I think, with the way citizens of this country are been weighed down due to the past wrong economic policies, the process of removing subsidies should be gradual and consistent.
Things are tough already and I can't imagine how everyone will be dealt with when prices of things soars than it is atm, landing cost of fuel is climbing 1k plus, it's just too scary.

Mr Franchasng,

Please read the above by Mr Ibe. Subsidy had to go. The issue is that Tinubu kicked against it when Jonathan removed, and that was the best time to erase petroleum subsidies. So maybe it is Karma on Tinubu but subsides had to go.
But here's what I'm curious about, if subsidy has to go and in turn the cost of living becomes very high due to inflation, then what aspect do the government be willing to take responsibility for its citizens, I would have preferred a situation where the government decides to reform workers wages, thereby people are paid handsomely or preferably hourly labor wages are introduced then they begin to withdraw those incentives.

PoliticsRe: Tinubu Vendetta Against Dangote by Maxxim: 6:59am On Jul 22, 2024
Anyone in Nigeria fighting for em is foolish. Once Dangote starts sourcing supplies from local crude sellers and becomes the sole buyer, there's no way you'll benefit positively. Dangote is a hardcore capitalist playing a dangerous monopoly game.
If things go his way, we'll all be at the mercy of his pricing and the resulting inflation across the country. I hope the government doesn't fall for his tricks.
