What's your point?
It’s not a translation of the Hebrew Bible, it’s a version meant to conform to some people agenda.

You just proved you're an illiterate if you're asking me to show you books that are available on the internet you're using to defend yourself. Are you only limited to using Google? Sorry I'll wait for an educated person to engage me so I can make my noise.
Dull Professor thinks we have “google books” grin

But you said you saw it here https://www.britannica.com/topic/Zeus

Which book did you read that it was stated that Zeus is the god of thunder.. Mention one, just one..
Mention the name of the book and that same google will bring it out.

They also called Zeus — “GOD”. So if there’s only one GOD then well well well

You are a serial liar.

I'm not even Jehovah Witness.. you really have an education problem. To assume everyone is JW on nairaland. I came for an intellectual discourse on the origin of African religion, I didn't expect to meet a substandard arguement.
You don’t have any knowledge on the origin of African religion. Just show me where you read that Zeus is the god of thunder.

Lol... you think I haven't read it? That's why I'm laughing at you. It's either you hate reading or you have limited education. If you can't understand what is in front of you, I'm not mocking you. I'm just saying stop engaging in arguments you have no knowledge about. Read a book to save your life.

If you've read that article, it will explain to you clearly how Zeus is not the God or Allah. God or Allah, is not a sky God or thunder God. Zeus only wields the weather as a weapon, like Thor, he controls the thunder and sea storms. He is considered the head of the Greek gods. Zeus is the father of the Greek gods and considered the ruler of men.

God is not the ruler of men, he is the Creator, Father, he doesn't control the storms or thunder, he owns it all, he made them all.

Stop confusing yourself. In that same article, they mentioned that the Hinduism equivalent of Zeus is the god Dyaus. Thor is the Norse version of Zeus. They all control the weather, they are all seen holding an instrument Thor like Sango, holds a hammer, Zeus holds a Lightening bolt...the hammer and the bolt all control the thunder and lightning.

Read a book to save your life.
Noise, kindly show me where you read that “Zeus is the god of thunder”
You didn’t read the article one bit, in that same article they called Zeus omnipotent.
Didn’t you say Yahweh is the equivalent to Allah in Islam? And equivalent to olorun?
You are a serial liar!

No you have not..if you did you would know that Thor is not a greek god but a Norse god. He is the god of thunder.

Zeus is the Greek's god of thunder...like I said they are all the same entities, just with different names from different cultures. Go and read a book to save your life. Have a great day.
You are a liar!!!
Zeus was GOD.
It was you that said Zeus was god of thunder, why didn’t you put Norse or Greek?
Keep disgracing yourself, trying so hard to tell us that she’s well read, ordinary Zeus you don’t know.

No where in history did they say Zeus and Thor is the same.

So do the same. I'm not going to argue with you. It's baseless and won't add anything to my knowledge. You haven't even given me anything worth learning.. I've only passed down mine.
You are a liar you didn’t read any book.
How can you say Zeus is a god of thunder?
And Allah is same as Yahweh?
You are a liar!!! You don’t even know the basics.

Oga, please go and read actual textbooks on greek gods. This is a subject I have dealt with well enough. I won't answer your questions again. I'll direct you to a book.

I have lots of interest in religion. Despite being a Christian, I love to learn. I am not that Christian who is stuck in his beliefs not to know the truth. So I advise you follow suit. Go and read, avoid YouTube videos and blogs if you're serious.
You are a liar, the god of thunder is Thor.
You have lots of interest for William Tyndale books
Show me where you saw that Zeus is god of thunder.

Islam originated from Arab speaking countries. How do you expect them to use Yaweh? Do we use Yaweh in Nigeria? The Yoruba's use Olorun in the yoruba bible translation, they don't use God. So why do you expect Arab countries to use another name. Besides, Islam does not even agree with having translations of their Quran, so their name of God won't change.
So how then did you arrive that Allah is Yahweh? Which translation did you use?

You are saying god is a title now huh
Christianity Etc › Re: Do Africans Have Any Widespread Religion Before The Advent Of The Europeans? by Maynman: 3:30pm On Apr 19, 2022

No Zeus is not God. Zeus is the god of thunder. He is one of the watchers and one of the Elohim (sons of God), just like Baal.

God, Yaweh, El, Allah all refer to the Almighty God. God has many names, it depends on translation like I said to the Yoruba's they call Olodumare. They all refer to the same supreme God, their description may be subjective and the stories around them but it's the same source.
Where did you get that Zeus is the god of thunder?
Which translation did they write Allah in the Bible? And which in Quran did they write Yahweh?

Zeus too is a “God”, the same with Yahweh?

I'm still trying to understand where Islam is in this thread. And I've answered your question concerning Islam to the best of my knowledge. Unless you're looking for an answer that isn't there or expecting a supposed response. I can't help you.

I have said Allah is God... what exactly are you looking for?
So Allah is same as Yahweh? Both are referred to as “God”

You used Christianity to define “god” that’s the problem

I am not an hypocrite, and yes I am a Christian and a researcher. All I know is that the Muslims call Allah God and refer to Him as the supreme creator. As for if it is the same God, I cannot say because I do not agree with their interpretation of God.

But for your question, yes it's only one God. But that was not your question..I only answered your question of European religion.
You are contradicting yourself. Is the god of Christianity same as god of Islam since they are both referred to as God? If you say there’s only one “God” the answer is yes.

What you need are books. Lots of it and time to study them. They say knowledge is power. Start with the history of Christianity, history of African religion, and you'll understand how everything is connected.
Read books about the origin of God, gods and all other entities.

The only thing I can tell you is that all traditional religions are connected. All the gods we have in Africa, have a European equivalent eg Sango Vs Thor...Ogun Vs Ares....etc.

There isn't any new religion. So when you hear the almighty God...Olodumare..and other names. The point is there is no European religion or white man's religion. We are all creations of God. The other gods also arose during the early times of earth, after Noah, the watchers, nephilims, the annunaki's etc.

Like I said go read books, the truth are inside pages.
You are a Christian, and you are trying to hide the hypocrisy..
Can I ask you a question, is God same as Allah?
If yes, can you pray in Allah name since there’s only one God?

Then it has different meaning, the Greek translation of god is different from the Hebrew translation of god, so as the German own.
Mention all the scriptures and I’ll explain to you how all of them differ in what they call god.
Do you even know the origin and meaning of that word “scriptures”. it’s specific

In Europe that brought us the Jesus story I have noticed that people do not talk of Jesus or religion it is Africans that are obsessed with the Jesus Christ created by the Roman Empire.

To serve God, I'm with the Jews to follow the Old Testament 10 commandments and to use the Psalms to pray. I still cannot believe that a lot of people are still being deceived to believe that Jesus is the Son of the Old Testament GOD when in fact it is a Roman idol worship in disguise.
They only have belief, they don’t have knowledge about their belief(s). It’s pathetic.
