Good day my boss Mr Ikenna , I'm here again with another issue with my Lion 407. Happy new year guys... I just wanna ask if I'm the only one experiencing this fault with my Peugeot 407 AL4 gearbox. Whenever I switch the gear to R, it makes a thick knock sound, and when the engine temperature is still below 90, especially during the first morning drive everyday, the car makes a very noticeable drop down sound when switching from gear one to gear 2 and from gear 3 to gear 4. Also for about 5 months the PRND (gearbox faulty) warning has been constantly on. Thanks for your reply

Thanks be to God, the fault has been fixed by an experienced peugeot mechanic here. It was just a round component in the drive shaft that was supposed to have teeth but the teeth became smooth so it was changed to another used one and I was charged MYR200 equivalent to 15k++ naira and I'm so happy because I got reasonable advise here from Gazzuzz and Co that saved me my earlier unplanned budget of 2500MYR equivalent to 200k naira for getting a used gearbox with 7 days warrant. . Thanks KS naira land. I'm typing this inside my lion

wrong. Vehicle will still turn. But check if you have any form of spin on any side of the C.V joints, when the car is engaged in drive. This can be checked when vehicle is on a pit. Also check if transmission fluid is at normal level.
Thank you very much for your suggestions sir. Just as u said, what if There's a form of spin on the cv joint after the car has been jacked up? Can I have your phone number sir?

Indeed, something may have pulled off but that doesn't mean that you will be needing a new gearbox as prescribed by your "mechanic". Peugeot gearboxes don't just pack up like that. Get a second opinion if I were you.
thanks so much bro, that's exactly why I came here to seek expert naija advise. Here in Malaysia, the mechanics are so lazy. All they know is change this and change that. They don't know anything like repair . For them,to repair costs more than changing to new one

the mechanic is suggesting that's it's not shaft, he said if it was shaft, the steering won't be able to turn. But the car can start, steering can turn but if select gear the car cannot be driven all the gears just acting like neutral
just scanned now and the result is gearbox ECU faulty

have you had any repairs on the transmission before now? Any work on the suspension? Start be checking the C.V joints (shafts), if any are out of place vehicle will not move
never repaired the transmission, but before this the car sometimes shows the prnd caution but after restart the car move's perfectly

Good day my fellow Lion men, I had an experience yesterday with my lion which wasn't a very pleasant one as usual. I was on the way to an appointment and was so hungry so I asked my younger brother to drive me while I sit in front and eat because I was running late already and couldn't stop to eat. This should be the first time someone else drove my lion and I guess the lion was so jealous and decided to teach me a leson.
It all started when we got to a traffic light, the light turned red and we were the first at the left lane. After my brother shifted the gear to P, then after the light turned green, he shifted the transmission back to D and as he tried to accelerate, we heard a very heavy sound, sounded more like something pulled off the drivers side wheel and the gear just went freewheel only (I mean the gear just couldn't engage). Tried the tip tronic also but it couldn't work. No gear could engage, the gear stick can be moved from P to any gear, but the car can't move. Right now the car is still at mechanic workshop because nothing could be done yesterday as the towed car only arrived to the workshop at about 9pm. But after a brief examination, the workshop guy suggested the entire gearbox needs to be changed. I really need advise from anyone who has had similar experience and experienced lion heads in NL. Greetings from Malaysia. .@Ikenna351 @Gazzuzz

Funny, right? cheesy Silly? grin
Don't mind me.. That's what came to my mind.. And I thought it might be fine.... wink wink

Yes, that thought came to me just a few hours ago. cheesy cheesy
So, questions came coming, questions like:
What if it's practicable?
What if what We thought on could be tested out?
Are there cars with those functions?
I hope they aren't too weird?

Granted, some functions some exotic cars had today were ones someone's dreams/thoughts.. wink

Auto experts, geeks, physicists, come in and check if they are practicable or not.
I only thought of two, presently.
Please drop yours. grin grin
My own fantasy functions are:

1. If a car could be made to drive itself on a straight route for few minutes, thus enabling someone else to handle the steering..

Reason: There are times you'll really be tired on the steering and you will want someone else to take charge but you wouldn't want to stop the car, so, if this technique can be developed, I think one would do that without stopping the engine from working.
cheesy possible or weird? Silly? cheesy

2. If a car is designed to tell you how close a car behind you is and how near a car trying to overtake you is.

Reason Will this not relieve you of checking both the side mirror and the rear mirror? To be frank, doing that at times takes few seconds of our attention.. If this is done.. That's sure a big comfort!! wink cheesy

Am done!
Drop your own function, what you'll really love a car to have. wink wink
And if you think am silly, abeg tell me oh.. grin grin
the all new mecerdes Benz s400 full spec has the number 2 feature u mentioned... Here in Malaysia, the starting price of the car is$150,000 (47.7 million naira)

Business / Re: Why ATM Pin Has 4 Digits Only by mayoralex(m): 3:16pm On Aug 10, 2016
Opistorincos:
We as Nigerians come across a lot of exciting, captivating and thought provoking things in our day to day activities. However, due to our busy schedule, and sometimes the thought of where we're headed at the particular period in time, across we don't really bother to look into the background of these amazing inventions. I am 100% sure that 99.9% of my readers make use of the ATM machines more than twice within the period of a week.
www.nairaland.com/attachments/4086611_4082151transferfundsonatmmachinejpeg3d61ca2fc5c6519649df5c3901c51965_jpeg80cf306dce9178f7ea7c49c21e6a2697
Majority of the time we have the need to make use of the atm, we are often saddled with the thought of how long we need to wait before making withdrawals or any other ATM enabled task due to the status of the queue. The highlighted points above are some of the reasons why many Nigerians have never bothered to look into why the ATM pin is only four(4) digits.

The main purpose of this post is to educate my readers on why the ATM pin has only four digits. Before we talk about that, however, let's skim through how the ATM machine came into existence.

The Computer Loan Machine triggered the invention of the ATM machine. The individual who took it upon himself to design the first ever Automated Teller Machine is a man called John Adrian Sheperd-Barron. Barron also developed the idea of embedding pin code into individual debit and credit cards.

Now, to the main part of the post , which is why ATM pin consists of only 4-digits. The inventor of the ATM machine which is John Adrian Shepherd-Barron was born to the family of Dorothy Barron, two time Wimbledon women champion, in Shillong.

Barron initially proposed a 6 digit pin, but later had to reconsider his proposal due to his wife's inability to remember a large string of digits. The reason our ATM pin has only four digits is because of the inventor's wife's disability.

Nowadays, 4 digit pin is no longer enough to keep our funds secured, due to cyber theft. Most banks outside Nigeria are now offering a 6-digit pin code for accessing credit and debit cards. This development is a good one but it'll burden the average Nigerian banks' customer care assistants as many Nigerians are bound to forget their pins easily.

Correct.. Here in Malaysia all banks ATM's are 6 digit pin

Dont say what you're not sure about bro... Getting Malaysian passport is quite difficult these days, but if u marry a well meaning Malaysian, especially from east Malaysia u will get IC after 5years and can apply for passport which takes few months to be delivered because of your connection and also few ringits involved.. I'm dating a Malaysian, and most of my guys are already married to Malaysians. The problem why it seems like its difficult to get nice visa after marriage is because most of our guys here get married to uneducated and jobless Malaysian woman that have been rejected by their local men. Tell me how u expect the immigration to give long duration visa to a man that has no prove of income and his wife also no income. Only sit at home and work online together.. For ur information bro, among 3 of my tight guys married to Malaysian women,2 already got red passport and the other one got IC alalready. One of the ones with Malaysian passport is a dato already. The key to getting full marriage benefits is finding a rich and well connected woman and the rest na story. Myself also have been with a few poor Malaysian ladies, but finally oluwa give me one wey be money machine and very loving ... Hope u understand me in a right way bro

Woow!! Disgusting load of bullocks.

Well, there is a lil bit of truth in all what he said..

Congrats! Black women, you've finally succeeded in throwing away your dignity for cheap recognition..
not only black women tho, I think Asian ladies are 10times worse than our black ladies in terms of their hunt for white men. Check it out,how many black women have been scammed online while searching for a white lover? Only very few. But Asia is the key target of love online scammers because an Asian woman is ready to loose all her assets just to get a white man... I don even tire sef what all these women find in a white man and funny enough the white guys never seem to love these black and Asian women, the white men only use them to pass time, take their money and use them as emotional slaves

Career / Re: 8 Annoying Jobs Nigeria Graduates Do In Order To Survive At Overseas Countries by mayoralex(m): 11:45pm On Jan 21, 2016
wristbangle:
The rush for greener pasture has becloud the vision of Nigeria Graduates to the extent that most believe nothing good can happen owing to the deplorable state of the country's economy.

As a result of negative economic situation, some have travelled to the overseas in search for good jobs but it's unfortunate that they eventually secure shameful occupation which they can't even wish for their enemy to do.

Therefore, 8 Annoying Jobs Nigeria Graduates Do In Order To Survive At Overseas Countries

1. Cleaner

It's so demoralising to see a PHD holder cleaning toilets, streets, floor of hotels, bars and offices. No matter how terrible Nigeria economy is, a graduate of such calibre cannot even think for once in picking such jobs in this county except if his/her village witches are at work.

2. Security guard

I have heard cases of professors in Nigeria University been employed as security guard in overseas countries because his quality of education and expertise cannot even match the skills an employer is looking for. What could be so agonising to see your celebrated professor as puppet in another country?

3. Washing dead bodies

It's rather an insult upon injury to see a Graduate of this country washing dead body in another man's land to make end meets. The most annoying thing they claim to be working as forensic officer but what happens when they contact a deadly disease during the occupation, of course prophet T.B joshua will be at their rescue.

4. Prostitution

I don't know why some ladies who are graduates has completely lost self esteem and integrity hereby resorting to prostitution career when they travel to overseas. This is a common act in countries like Italy and Brazil where they have sex with all sort of men, dog, horse and monkey in order to make money. I am sure that people must have heard the story of a female Nigeria celebrity who did this act. I pity the guy that will marry her.

5. House maid

I believe that the highest qualification to select a house maid suppose to be someone with O level certificate but the case is different in overseas countries where some Nigeria graduate make mockery of their selves to work as house help.

6. Refuse and Sewage packer

Honestly speaking I pity the life of refuse and sewage workers because they are marred with poor health condition which is as a result of the bad stench oozing from the waste. Let's be frank here, can a white man work as sewage worker in Nigeria? Abi no be the same brain God give us?

7. Drug smuggler

Smuggling cocaine, hemp, marijuana and other hard drugs is not a legitimate occupation and it can never be. Greed and desperation to become wealthy fast has ruin the destiny of so many Nigeria Graduates whereby some have rot in jail while others has received death penalty.

8. Undertaker

There is dignity in when a graduate of this country patiently build his/her career at expense of picking a job that will never add value to his resume. Imagine a graduate working as undertaker (lifting corpse in coffin) at overseas countries because of the money attached. Is that life?

You can also add yours

All that is old news #ThanksToTheStreets.... Try to visit Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and see if any Nigerian even cares about getting a job. The minimum wage here is about 43k naira but I tell u the average naija guy will spend it in a week while trying to economize on feeding and drinking ... Myself live in a 3 bedroom apartment alone, while my neighbours whom are locals are more then 5 guys sharing the apartment
Phones / Re: How Much Have You Spent On Data Subscription This Year? by mayoralex(m): 2:35pm On Dec 31, 2015
OMG I just calculated and noticed that I spent about 100k naira plus this year just on internet. We spend little by little but we never get to know how much we really spending. Naija is a hard country ...#DigiMalaysia *133,308 naira to be precise * and just this month the Telekom provider has increased my home internet monthlycharge from 8,109 naira to 9,129 but the mobile data for out of home use still remains same price at 3k monthly
