Politics › Rights Groups Tells Buhari To Stop ‘political Persecution’ Of Nnamdi Kanu by mazimee(op): 6:19am On Sep 24, 2016
By Joseph Erunke
ABUJA-A pro-democracy Non-Governmental
Organization under the aegis of Human Rights
Writers Association, HURIWA, has asked
President Muhammadu Buhari to end what it calls
“persistent political persecution” of Mr Nnamdi
Kanu, the Director of the Europe based Radio
Biafra and leader of the Indigenous People of
Biafra, IPOB.
The group also called for negotiated and peaceful
resolution through constructive dialogues of the
agitations by some youth for the actualization of
the state of Biafra.
HURIWA, in a statement jointly endorsed by its
National Coordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko and
the National Media Affaires Director, Miss Zainab
Yusuf, said the reported success of yesterday’s
“stay-at-home” order by IPOB, and its affiliates in
the South East, was a “clear demonstration that it
was now more than ever urgent that meaningful
and constructive dialogues towards a peaceful
resolution to the groundswell of agitations for
self-determination are started.”
It said the prolonged detention under
dehumanizing conditions of the founder of the
Radio Biafra by the president amounted to the
use of psychological and physical torture against
voices of dissent.
“The pattern of unduly overstretched detention
and willful disrespect to the reported bail orders
represents a serious breach of the human rights
of the detained leader of IPOB and an abuse of
power particularly since it is a notorious fact that
twice the government disobeyed a binding bail
orders granted in favor of Nnamdi Kanu by
competent courts of law, “he said.
The group submitted that under the constitutional
norms which we operate the head of the
executive branch of government is obliged to
comply with binding decisions of competent
courts of law just as it further stated that under
section 36 (5) of the Constitution of the Federal
Republic of Nigeria all accused persons are
presumed innocent until a contrary determination
is made by the court of law.

Politics › "Nnamdi Kanu Has Come To Build Biafra Full Of Milk And Honey by mazimee(op): 1:09pm On Sep 23, 2016
By Chinedu Adonu and Ifunanya Ozougwu
ENUGU – Controversial Spiritual leader and pro-
Biafra activist, Prophet Anthony Nwoko has accused
President Muhammadu Buhari of allegedly fuelling
the agitation for the actualisation of the Biafran
republic indirectly through his anti- Igbo polices and
utterances.
Nwoko also took a swipe at fiery Catholic priest,
Rev. Fr Ejike Mbaka for playing politics with his
priestly works and asked him to relocate to Buhari’s
home state Katsina, so that he would have enough
time to engage in “false prophecies” for the
president.
“Mbaka should relocate to Katsina State to have
time for prophecies for Buhari. He is not a prophet
of the Holy God,” he said.
Nwoko said that although successive
administrations in the country had been anti- Igbo,
none was more pronounced that Buhari’s regime.
Prophet Nowoko who had prophesied that President
Buhari’s second coming would not bring any relief
but misery to the nation spoke in an interview with
newsmen in Enugu.
According to him, President Buhari was indirectly
plotting to resurrect Biafra through his policies and
utterances.
“Buhari’s preference for those that voted for him,
collapsed infrastructure in South East, lopsided
appointments and the high-handedness in dealing
with armless separatist agitators in Southern parts
of the country by security personnel are factors that
further fuel agitation for Biafra.
“Buhari emerged the second time to bury Nigeria
and resurrect Biafra. His second coming is to
destroy the nation and resurrect Biafra and it has
come to pass,” he said.
He further said that contrary to efforts by the
Federal Government to suppress and intimidate pro-
Biafra groups, the objective of establishing Biafra
had already been realized as “Biafra has come to
be.”
Nwoko insisted that no amount of ingenuity in
financial and economic management would save
the country from the current economic recession,
socio-political strife in view of security threats from
herdsmen, insurgents and militants.
Also, in his message entitled, “Spiritual Message
for the state of Biafra nation and why Nigeria is
facing problems,” Nwoko stated that Nigeria as a
nation was a ‘fraud’ by colonial masters which was
doomed to crash, warning that it was in the interest
of political leaders to plan for peaceful separation.
He warned religious personalities and “big
churches” to stop deceiving the unsuspecting
citizens with fake prophecies and lies, saying that
the judgment of God would soon come down on
them for using the vineyard of the Lord to enrich
themselves.
Nwoko also, spoke on the long detention of the
Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB,
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
“Spiritually, I want to declare to the world that I
have seen Nnamdi Kanu in the spirit many times.
He, Kanu is spiritually hale and hearty and nothing
will happen to him.
He has come to join hands and build the land,
Biafra full of milk and honey,” he added, even as he
urged the Federal Government to release Kanu to
avert more problems for the nation.

For the past one year APC become the ruling party, I can attest to the fact that I see your development agenda scattered everywhere in the country. Ranging from the hike in the price of fuel, kerosene and food stuffs. Parents are finding it hard to feed their children and are using their children in exchange of bag of rice.
Others are withdrawing their kids from private schools to public schools that is left in shambles.

We have seen what your development agenda looks like. We no wan do again.

Politics › PDP Did Nothing For 16 Years, Says Buhari by mazimee(op): 4:35pm On Sep 12, 2016
Eniola Akinkuotu, Abuja

President Muhammadu Buhari says the
Peoples Democratic Party which ruled Nigeria
for 16 years, accomplished nothing.

Buhari said this while addressing journalists
in Daura on Monday after attending Eid
prayers, according to a statement by his
Senior Special Assistant on Media and
Publicity, Mr. Garba Shehu.

He said, “I want Nigerians to realise that what
this government inherited after 16 years of
the PDP government was no savings, no
infrastructure, no power, no rail, no road and
no security.”

The President, however, argued that within a
year, his government was able to crush Boko
Haram.

He said he had intensified the war against
corruption as those who diverted public funds
had started returning the money.

The President further maintained that his war
against corruption was not one-sided.
Buhari said, “Nigerians can see what we have
done on Boko Haram and what we are doing
to resolve the problem in the Niger Delta.
Before the elections, we identified three
major problems confronting our country.

“The first is security; we need to sufficiently
secure our country to manage it well. The
second is economy, especially job for the
youths and fighting corruption which is
continuous.
‘‘For the youths, graduates and non-graduates
who are interested in agriculture, the Federal
Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with
the CBN are doing something to provide
employment for them.”

The President thanked Nigerians for
supporting the Federal Government’s policies,
programmes and actions aimed at improving
security, revamping the economy and
combating corruption.

‘‘We should thank God this year, the reports
I’m getting, which is very pleasing, is that we
will have a bumper harvest this year.
President Buhari is observing this year’s Eid
holiday in his native home in Daura, Katsina
State and will return to Abuja after the two-
day public holiday.
