No matter the 'sense" you are making, trying to educate Nigerians about lies abroad, this quoted post has spoilt the whole argument here. Nigerians leave in Nigeria and they know that you are lying , that nullifies the "truths" you re trying to hammer if any. Your target audience know these side of the argument better.

Make I waka abeg
timesup234:
Next to nothing. You guys blow things out of proportion. Since I was born I don't know anyone used for rituals, kidnapped etc. More than 98% of people I knew from high school almost 20 yrs ago are still alive and well. The crime rate in Nigeria is less than 0.1%. Rituals my foot! That's how they come with witches and wizards when in actual reality nobody has evidence of anyone confessing to being a witch since the existence of this country, all assumptions. People bought fuel for 500 at black market rate yesterday so they can comfortably buy for a 1000 naira. Nigerians are rich but naturally we just love to lament.

mamaron:
My interview transcript

Got a B1/B2 U.S. visa in early 2015. At the interview, my reason for travel was to visit my sibling......Was in the U.S. for a week early in 2017 attending a work conference and also visiting my sibling....Renewed visa via dropbox in Apr 2017 and was successful.

Got pregnant in Jul 2017 - after the dropbox renewal - decided to give birth in the U.S....filled another DS160...paid the visa fee...and scheduled an appointment to attend an interview to make my medical intention known
...wanted to get the fact that I will be using the visa for all the B1/B2 purposes into my records i.e. I will use it for medical, to visit my sibling and also for work conferences...original appointment was mid Jan 2018 but I applied for emergency appointment (thanks @Ll for answering my emergency appointment question) and was given a new earlier date...

VO lady: hello..passport please...why do you want to go to the U.S.
Me: to have my baby
VO was looking at her PC
Me: I actually have a valid visa already but I just want it to be on record that I'll be using the visa for medical, family visit and work related trips
VO: oh!.... hmm..I've never had this situation before...let me check the protocol for this.. what hospital are you using? Do you have correspondence with them? Do you have your bank statements? I gave her the email exchanges with hospital, my bank statements and pay slips..she went away for 5 mins and came back.
VO: you didn't need to come for another interview you could have sent an email to the correspondence team and it would have been noted on in your file
Me: really...i didn't see that information on any of your websites
VO: ..types....types...types...let me just cross check something.....I'll be back...she goes away for another 5-10 mins...my feet are hurting at this point..VO returns with a guy..
VO guy: hi....you're not required to come back to tell us you'd like to use the visa to have a baby
(in my mind..i'm like...reallyhuh!!! huh) But since you've paid another visa fee, we'll need to cancel your existing visa and reissue another one ...she'll review the documents...don't forget to take these docs with you to show at the border if asked. And hospital payment receipts too. VO guy goes away.
VO lady: takes time to review docs...types...types...asks some details about the bank statements....asked if I've paid hospital already (I haven't)...apologizes that system is slow...asks where my sibling lives...asks when i was last in the U.S. (told her...she says yes...i can see that here)... takes another 5/10 mins typing....typing..
Me: I also want it to be on record that I'll be using the visa to visit my sibling and for work conferences
VO: no problem...just getting all the information noted down...(after a few minutes) your visa has been approved..don't forget to have these docs at the border and the hospital receipts too.
Me: thank you...do you have any idea when the visa will be ready? (see me feeling fly...still asking question tongue)
VO: no sorry...but at least it's been approved...Thanks for being so forth coming...appreciate it
Me: thanks...with a big smile

Longest interview ever...took like 30 minutes in all. I really hope I don't have to do interview at renewal and can just breeze through drop box. I just realised now...i was never asked why I wanted to birth in the U.S. grin

I'm now wondering if the letter of intent really is valid...so confusing....I think both CBPs and VOs really just use their discretion...perhaps there's no policy manual of what to do in each circumstance...i was thinking I'd be told to just go ahead and use existing visa like @Supernaturalone....but grateful all the same.

The race is not to the swift...nor battle to the strong...it is of GOD who shows mercy Ecclesiastes 9:11
abujaniv, LagosNIV, Twoods, Omobendel
Going by this transcript, the "letter of intent" seems to be valid , please say something on this, thank you

my visa type is F1 not B1/B2.... and what was the outcome of that your friend
F1, B1/B2 or what ever , all are visas, start preparing for another interview just the way you did the former one. A simple google search will tell you this fact.
All the best

Sgttanner:
i understand your point sir ... I am asking if my interview will be like the normal one I went for
Yea, like the normal interview, just prepare again. Sorry for what happened.
Secondly you can ask the VOs directly on their thread to be double sure, so as to start preparing fast .
Remember you need a police report for the passport, keep the police report safe for maybe interview and POE.
All the best

What is the need for another visa interview?
Twoods is right , he MUST attend another interview as far as American visa is concerned. For other countries interview might not be necessary. I didn't read the link but is something I know, it has happened to someone very close to me. Unless they have changed their policy last week.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by Mbamto: 7:28pm On Dec 05, 2017
Savings of 1.5M , earning 79k. How long did it take you to save 1.5m? So you mean you will spend your whole savings for years on a 10day pleasure and then start all over again? The VOs don't need to check your bank statement, self evaluate your self and maybe assume the VOs believe your account balance story , hmmmm bros/sis, "the obvious is obviously obvious"
Yeanca:
Nooooooooo,I earn 79k which I wrote there and a 1.5m bank balance, how ll I convince the VO to check my statement.

Ok thanks for the clarifications. Sounds scary ...how do the confirm my availability of funds? Would they want to see the cash or my bank statement? How would they start calling the banks from the POE to confirm? undecided
If you are travelling for Pleasure or Business, you mustn't be a rich fellow with a fat bank account. Your ties does it all for the visa. Then at the POE, bank statement is not necessarily needed, all you need is a proof that you will not be a liability or you will not abuse your visa by working illegally to foot your bills, you should have reasonable cash to sustain you for that short duration and in most cases, when they doubt you, they move you to secondary and there you show your raw cash that can cover for the trip, or your master card etc, they sometimes take a step further on those cards either by insisting you log in to your bank account or which ever way you can, and show them. Its left for you to prove at that point or get your visa cancelled.
Have you not read stories of people depoted at US POE due to insufficient funds? It happens all the time.
Example: in your DS160 and interview, you claimed you don't know anyone, and you claimed staying for 14days , then you show up at POE with $150 only, it doesnt add up. There are a lot of scenarios

The thing is that, never let it reach that level, always have enough cash on you, hotel confirmed , connected flight ticket , return tickets etc.

The information you submitted online as part of your application. Sounds strange though ....you sure say nor bi the gateman you meet wen interview you? grin They always request for your physical copies of documentation. No VO will give a decision without looking through first ...buh I don't know again o! May be you should appeal the decision undecided
Nothing strange here, and no, the VOs rarely look at documents, they have said this severally on their thread. Have you been to the embassy of recent for a B1/B2 visa? They look at documents when it relates to medical or education. As for tourists, you further proof your funds and eligibility at POE if need be, and they depot and cancel the visa if not satisfied.
Basically, they analyse your home ties and decide to issue you or not based on the information you fill on your DS160 and also the interview.
And also, no, you can't appeal the decision of the American VO, you can only reapply.

US visa is 50% , the remaining 50% scrutiny is at the POE, unlike other countries that do background checks of documents and the visa process takes a very long time, and if okay , then less stress at POE.

They used to. I recall more than 15 years ago, you went with bank statements, letters of invitation etc. They stopped because we can't be trusted to do anything straight. We are the architects of our own misfortune. It's sad that most haven't learnt anything from this at all.
You are very right in this.

One semester is too long... once the school reports, the visa is cancelled retroactive to the last day you attended full classes.

Most of the folks here are shortsighted. They don't realize there is a life after school and an F1 visa. Once you've been out of status for even 24 hours, you become ineligible to adjust status within the US and have to go back to your home country. There you'll have to deal with the US consulate again where your time out of status will count against you.

You talk to them and they tell you you're just trying to find trouble... bros... let them fall in the ditch themselves. I will no longer provide any serious advice. Every man to his own folly. I'll be here to laugh at them... by the way, pounded yam loading. You are powerfully invited.

To be honest, no one actually knows his chances (was spoofing with my response) but lets look at his profile

1. He is working, for how long?
2. He earns 450,000...that's good
3. Maritime training in the US...that will be a study visa, like F1...please check the student visa thread.
4. He is single.
5. His travel history, where has he travelled to? (not required though, "virgin" passport owners have gotten visas)
6. Who will be sponsoring the training?
I disagree @the bolded
Do you know how long the training will last it the nature ?
My colleagues have gone to America on a training that lasted for weeks, days etc in a B1B2 Visa, sponsored by my Office. Infact I have lost count of the number of beneficiaries, but well above hundred and at different periods. Purpose of visit clearly disclosed to the VOs and so far, nobody has ever been denied (both singles and married) All went and are back successfully, many more are prepadvise to go next.

Wetin carry F visa come here , let's try and advice based on what we know not what we assume please.

I will advise concho to read all parts of this thread very well and fill the form correctly pleaee
Only God knows your chances

Unidentified gunmen on Thursday invaded the Tsafe Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, in Zamfara, killing an official, a witness told the News Agency of Nigeria.

The source said the hoodlums numbering over 20 stormed the premises of the command on motorcycles at about 10 a.m. and opened fire on the FRSC personnel.

“There was confusion as sounds of sporadic gunshots rented the air, while the road safety officials around scampered for safety in different directions.

“However, one of the officials was unlucky as he was shot and killed by the attackers,” he said.

According to him, one of the gunmen was killed by soldiers who quickly mobilised to the scene, while the rest escaped into the bush abandoning their motorcycles.

The FRSC Public Education Officer and Spokesman, Bisi Kazeem, confirmed the incident.

“It is true that our command in Tsafe, Zamfara, was attacked this morning.

“A Deputy Route Commander of the FRSC was killed by the hoodlums while other staff escaped with one still missing,” Mr. Kazeem told NAN.
