The circumstances during Chibok kidnap is totally different, from this current kidnap situation, during that time, there was a total collapse of intelligence. In this case, there was solid intelligence, the school was going to be attacked, and enough firepower was sent in, the heavily armed security men left 3 hrs before the incident, so looking at this, the issue boils down to the issue of saboteurs within the security system. Who are those security men who left their duties? Who were giving them orders? Everything is not the fault of the President, what is left for the President to do is to give marching orders for search and rescue. And in this scenario, heads have to roll for the fact actionable intelligence was given no noise about this issue. It was pure sabotage. and can't be compared with the Jonathan era Chibok kidnap. Sometimes when we are blinded by political sentiments, we lack the will to just sit down and analyse issues deeply especially when ignorance rules the so called grey matter.

President Bola Tinubu has directed security agencies to immediately rescue the 25 female students abducted from Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, in the Danko-Wasagu area of Kebbi State.



The gunmen attacked the school in the early hours of Monday, killing the Vice Principal, Hassan Makuku, and injuring a security guard, Ali Shehu. He sustained gunshot wounds to his right hand.



Confirming the incident earlier, Kebbi police spokesperson, Nafi’u Kotarkoshi, said a manhunt was already underway for the attackers.

In a statement on Monday, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, said President Tinubu strongly condemned the attack and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding all Nigerians, especially schoolchildren.

The minister said: “President Bola Tinubu has reiterated that protecting every Nigerian, especially schoolchildren, remains a solemn responsibility of the State.

“The government condemns the reprehensible attack on innocent students and the killing of school officials who were carrying out their noble duty.”

He added that the President issued “clear directives” to security and intelligence agencies to locate and safely recover the abducted students, with a firm charge that the perpetrators must be brought to justice.

“The Federal Government will not relent until this objective is achieved,” he noted.

Idris further assured the public that internal security remains a top priority for the Tinubu administration, which is “recalibrating the nation’s military, policing, and intelligence capabilities” to prevent and swiftly respond to such attacks.


He said Nigeria is also deepening security cooperation through ECOWAS, the African Union, and the Multinational Joint Task Force, MNJTF, to strengthen border security and dismantle terrorist and criminal networks.


“We urge the public to remain calm and confident as security forces work around the clock to resolve this matter,” the minister added.

The kidnapping of schoolgirls is happening too often, and it’s shameful that it usually becomes a political talking point instead of a security priority. Every time something like this happens, politicians (opposition parties in particular) rush to issue statements and attack each other, while the real criminals walk free.

We need to stop turning tragedies into political games. Kids are being taken from their schools — that’s the only thing that should matter. Security agencies should investigate every angle, every motive, and every actor involved, without fear or favoritism.

What Nigerians want is simple:
Find the criminals. Protect our children. Stop the drama.

Human lives are not campaign tools. If we can’t get the basics right — safety, security, and accountability — then something is seriously wrong.

I believe that by now Nigeria has complied with this UN resolution as we cannot be held complicit in the Gaza genocide.

No single drop of our crude oil or refined petroleum products should get into the hands of the genocidal regime in Israel.

it still reflect the frustration of the north that a southerner is appointed the FCT helmsman. Look at the way they supported the officer. If it were the other way round, the southern soldier would have been in the guardroom and protest erupted from Arewa.
People from Southern Nigeria are objective and not myopic in decision making. In all, I blame Tinibu for not finding a worthy person from the south to be made the FCT minister other than Wike.
