In as much I am in total opposition to the current LP adminstration, we owe it to our conscience and Democratic tenets to always correct misinformation even if it is directed towards the opposition.

First of all, the Governor has no powers to fix power tarrifs as claimed by the OP's insinuation and misleading headline.

The Nigerian Power regulatory body is the only body by law that sets tarrif rates.

Its not Otti or any other governor for that matter.

But what is truly disturbing in that thread is the assumption that Abia state and local government is paying minimum wage at #70,0000.

This is absolutely false.

Abia state still pays the ancient rate passed by GEJ in 2012 which is a paltry #18,000. This is despite the last Buhar adminstration increasing minimum wage in 2019 to #30,000 and Tinubu increasing it in 2023 to #70,000.

Abia state workers are the least paid and most maltreated .
