This assurance was given by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during an interview on Channels Television on Wednesday.

The Minister gave some level of summary of what the Tinubu government has done, talking about over 900,000 beneficiaries of presidential loan and grant scheme, 300,000 beneficiaries of student loan scheme and over 10 billion in FX debt cleared.


Despite this, recent reports show that Nigeria has gone into more debt.

The concerns about hunger and hardship are increasing on a daily basis.

Asked when the government policies would start making a positive impact on the life of the ordinary Nigerian as they are still experiencing more pain, the Minister said, “The pain will end soon. Already, it’s beginning to subside a bit.


“I mean, you saw that if you compare food prices now to where they were a year ago. I mean, you know how much you buy a bag of rice.

“We are not saying that we are there yet, but we are saying there is a steady progression towards the destination, the prosperity that Mr president has promised Nigerians.

“It’s not something that will happen overnight. But even the rating agencies are saying, look, the indices are looking good for Nigeria. Everyone is seeing that.


“I believe that we’ll soon have that sorted out. It’s gradual. I mean, nobody has, I mean, the President never said that our problems are over. He never said that.

“I’m not going to sit here to say that our problems are over, but what I can say is that there is a gradual journey towards the prosperity that Mr president has promised.”
