change the condenser jeje to avoid wahala.
When the compressor failed, some elements from the it would have gotten into the condenser and they will damage the new compressor once you install it.
Even a condenser wash might still not be efficient

i know what you are thinking but that's not it.
The thing is, in my case, only the key got lost..it fell off from the housing. Sensor was still intact...i just bought a new key assembly and put the sensor in it. Voila!

Firstly, there is this thing my toyota camry 2008 2AZ just started doing every morning on cold start. It won’t start on the first crank but it will always start on the second crank. After that cold start, it will keep starting well throughout the day.
Secondly, there is thing other thing it does once a while. I might park for a few minutes to go do something and when i get back and crank the rngine, it will start and go off immediately. If i keep cranking it after that, it won’t come on. Unless i give it a few minutes to rest then i crank it again. I barely does this maybe one in two weeks or once a month.
I’ve had my vehicle scanned and the only code there is the p0420 code for catalyst below threshold bank 1. I’ve had that code since I started using the vehicle so I don’t think it’s responsible for the issue I’m having

gotten solution to these. First one, was my battery being unable to start at the first crank, had to replace alternator when batteries kept going bad
Second issue was my key going bad. I guess it's connection to the chip wasn't solid anymore. I only found out when i replaced my key after i lost the previous one.

Sound, smell, and feel.

It will sound overly muffled.
Some say a bad cat smells like rotten egg. A car with good functional catalyst has this distinct sweet smell from the tail pipe on a cold start different from the rotten egg smell.

You won't have good gas flow from the tail end and it will get red hot faster before the cat section.

Ask you mechanic or panel beater to check.

I’m considering a Cat delete. I would still use the housing though but i would take out the guts and use a o2 sensor spacer like you recommended for the other guy. Can’t imagine losing my engine because of a cat considering it’s even a 2AZ-FE engine that has factory installed oil burning issue. Thanks so much for your contribution bro. Very grateful

My 2012 Jeep Wrangler had check engine light illuminated. I diagnosed it and fault code P0430 came up.

OBDII: Catalytic converter system, bank 2 - efficiency below threshold”

I had the exhaust system removed and inspected, only to discover that one of the catalytic converter was empty. I couldn’t get the direct fit catalytic converter for the car. The parts sellers at Apo mechanic village were charging 80k to reconstruct mine, while a guy in Lagos charged 200k to place an order from US. I wasn’t convinced with any of the Apo parts sellers because none of them could guarantee that whatever they reconstruct will off the check engine light.

Luckily I saw this oxygen sensor spacer trend on Nairaland. The offer was fair and worth trying, then I met the seller “correct guy” and he gave me the O2 sensor spacer.

I was skeptical at first but when I installed it, it worked like miracle. The check engine light disappeared immediately.

I did a live date of the oxygen sensor and the one with spacer ran cleaner that the one that has catalytic converter.

The spacer works like magic.

The live date in the picture was how bad it ran before I installed the spacer. Sorry I didn’t get the screenshot of how it runs now, but it’s more straight around 0.2 to 0.3.

which oxygen sensor did install the spacer ? Is it upstream or downstream?

If it's blocked, remove completely or replace so you don't suffocate and kill your engine with excessive back pressure.

how do i know if it is clogged? I don’t seem to be having any issues other than fuel consumption that has gotten pretty high.

Your trim is CE those fuse aren't there because those functions are not shipped with CE. Except something is amis though then you can say the fuse was removed for a reason.

Also check those fuse space if empty (plastic only no metal copper clipping) then you know the car doesn't need those functions.

Thanks so much for your contribution. I got one more question though, can any of the removed fuses/ relays cause my car to be consuming power even when it’s turned off?? As it stands now, I’ve used two new batteries in less than six months. I’ve had the alternator metered and it charges pretty well but i guess something keeps consuming power in my vehicle even when it’s turned off and the key is not in the ignition. I can’t leave my car for a day without using it.. it won’t start the next day. On weekends i removed the battery cables to avoid monday morning wahala.
This was exactly what made me change my battery the first time now the second one too is going bad. I once removed the battery cable for three days and the engine started at the first crank the day after. If i left the cable on, battery would have been dead

Replace catalyst, or buy O² sensor spacer, or keep driving without it.
Whatever you do, don't use wire mesh or any other funny substance in place of it

i’m also dealing with this P0420 code but my catalyst isn’t missing, it’s probably just not working anymore . Will an O2 sensor spacer work for me too?

I checked the fuse and relay box in the engine compartment of my toyota camry 2008 2AZ-FE CE trim and I noticed the following fuses were missing :
-RR fog
-FR def
- AM 2
-IG 2
-STR lock
- S Horn
- A/F
- Mayday/ Tel
The following relays were also missing :
-ST CUT
- IG 2 ( i.e both IG 2 relay and fuse are not in use)
I couldn’t find the relay port for VSC 1 and 2 even though they were included in the fuse box chart ( i figured those ones weren’t applicable to my vehicle coz I couldn’t find any vsc button or vsc indicator on the instrument cluster.)
My question now is, were these fuses and relays removed on purpose ??
PS: I did some research and found that ST CUT relay disconnects starter motor from the battery if it’s too low to power the vehicle so i can understand why that was removed.
I also found out Mayday/Tel fuse is for SOS purposes which would most likely not be needed in a country like Nigeria.
