Good morning all!
A friend of mine tried updating the OS of his rooted Gionee m3, since then the phone has refused to work. It usually displays options such as Reboot, Reset, etc. I've tried all the options to no avail. Do you think the phone can still work?

Ur story telling skills is damn to poor!
Do u have it in mind that not all who read this knew babz neither were they in his school?
Be more creative next time huh
You did not read the story diligently; you were probably in a hurry. My story telling skill may not be good enough but it is clear, from the above write up, who Babs was. I clearly stated that we were classmates in the university, and then I went further to say that he was our class Rep.
PoliticsIn Memory Of Babs, My Friend & Class Rep. by McISRAEL(op): 2:00pm On Aug 13, 2015
Some years ago, when I was not more than eight years old, my father sent me to a drug store. The boy I met was about my age.

"I wan buy Cafenol" I said, my eyes fixed on the fifty kobo coin on the shelf between us. As the boy turned his back against me, I quickly scanned the store to be sure no one was looking, and then I reached for the coin. I was pocketing it when the boy turned and extended his hand towards me, "take," he said. I collected the Cafenol with my left hand, the right was holding my coin inside my pocket.

I was barely out of the shop when the boy's father called me back. He gave me a dirty slap on the face and retrieved his fifty kobo.
If I knew that someone was behind the curtain that divided that shop, I wouldn't have taken that coin; that coin that didn't belong to me. I told myself I would never steal unless i was sure I won't be caught. That was a long time ago.

And, so, when I heard what Babs did; when I heard that he had returned a cheque he could have cashed, money that didn't belong to him, to the owner, I couldn't believe it. He could have used the money, the money that staff of our university dropped just outside the Engineering Building, to better his life. No one was watching, no one saw him. There was no way he could've been caught; that money was free money. But Babs wouldn't take what belonged to Caesar.

When I told him very few people would do what he did, "What's money, Mark? he asked, waving his hand dismissively. "I'm poor and struggling, but I'll never take what does not belong to me."

So, he went in search of the professor, and he returned the money.

But this lady professor will not let Babs be; she told everybody and anybody that cared to listen that she had found one upright student; she told the Dean of students' affairs and the University Senate, she'd not stop until the university acknowledged Babs and honored him. And the university did.

"[I] heard Babs is gone."

That was how a friend announced the passing of Babs, in a bbm chat; we were class mates in the university. "What?" i screamed, my hands trembling. For few seconds I didn't know what to do. I didn't know what to write. I wanted my friend on the other end of the line to see my face, I wanted him to see the mists in my eyes. Oh, how I wish he knew what that news did to my hands, and my legs too.

"How? Accident?" I managed to ask, and then I thought that was probably not the right thing to say. I could have written 'Jesus Christ!', or '*Screams*' with a smiling smiley. That way, he would know how sad I was.

Babs was the class Rep we never elected. He was already leading us, representing us long before we officially named him. Our problem was his; he took up the responsibility when most of us would not. And when he couldn't continue, when some of us thought he was doing it for the money, he resigned honorably.

Babs was honest and selfless. I'll miss him. My classmates will miss him. His family will miss him.

Rest in peace, my friend and class Rep, Babatunde Olufisayo Cornelius.

In his honor, I hope this makes front-page.

PoliticsWhy The Media Must Help Governor Fayose by McISRAEL(op): 12:14pm On Aug 06, 2015
I think there's a conspiracy against my governor. I've not heard or read that he has commissioned any road or hospital or school since he became governor. If he's not attacking Buhari, he's eating amala in Iya alamala shop or paying #10,000 for one roasted plantain.

Haba! Nigeria media, are you saying this is all Fayose does? I know his special assistant on social media has turned himself into Olisa Metuh; he never fails to tell us what Buhari has done or failed to do. But please, biko, you people - the media - should help Fayose showcase his handiwork. You know, unlike Fayemi who felt he was not only responsible to Iya alamala, iya oniboli and egbe olokada, but also to students, professionals, technocrats, diasporas etc, and so, made efficient use of the media and social media, Fayose thinks otherwise; there's no feedback whatsoever. Although I reside in northern Nigeria, Fayemi brought Ekiti state to me when he was governor. The state government Facebook page and Twitter handle have practically ceased to exist. This is why you must help Fayose.

I think he talks too much. I think he's achieved nothing significant in Ekiti state. I think he's just the business as usual kind of governor. I, however, want to believe that this opinion I have of him is borne out of ignorance.

So, I want you, the media guys, to help my ignorance. I want to know what he's done in the agricultural sector, health sector, educational sector, etc. Has he built any blocks of classrooms? I want to know what he's done with the teachers in terms of capacity building. What is he doing to increase the productivity of Ekiti farmers? I know all states are experiencing cash crunch now, so, I want to know what he's doing to cut costs and improve the state's IGR without sending the poor and vulnerable deep into poverty.

Is it that Fayose is doing nothing news worthy? I don't understand why the news coming out of Ekiti is always about Fayose eating amala and flushing it with zoborodo or Fayose criticizing Buhari.

PoliticsRadio Biafra: We Must Avoid A Bloodbath by McISRAEL(op): 7:19pm On Jul 19, 2015
On Monday, 10 May, 2004 i was in school when parents besieged our school gate demanding the release of their wards. Earlier, the alarm had been rung by the timekeeper who happened to be in the same class as myself, but the principal wouldn't allow us leave. Some youths were rioting in the city centre and, although the school was located north of the city, a distance of about 15km from the centre of the violence, the principal wouldn't allow us go home on our own because he couldn't guarantee our safety. He insisted on releasing us only to our parents or guardians. He didn't envisage that it would be an arduous, if not impossible, task. How would the principal and few teachers begin to sort about three thousand students? We didnt have the luxury of time and parents were impatient, so, he gave in and opened the gate.

As i walked out of the school gate, i didn't expect to see my guardian; he was at the other end of the city. He must have expected me to remain in Sabon gari but my friend assured me that we could take another route home.
It worked. For we got home safely that day, not so much because we knew the routes to take but because my friend spoke Hausa fluently. He would shout, "mu naku ne" - we are yours - anytime we approached group of boys and they would allow us pass.

We later got to know what, - or who, if you like - caused the riot. A cleric in one of the mosques along Zaria road had incited worshippers against the non Muslims in the state. Christians were attacked with all kinds of weapons and their properties destroyed in the riot that lasted till the following day. But that's no the genesis, for it was a reprisal attack.

On May 2, 2014, Muslims were attacked in Yelwa, a Christian dominated area in Bauchi state. Ordinarily, this was enough to cause tension in a state like Kano where Christians have been murdered for what happened in Pakistan, for Israeli strike on Palestinian and for America's invasion of Iraq. The people only needed a push, and the Kano preacher was magnanimous enough to give it to them.

So, when I heard about an illegal radio broadcasting in the south eastern part of Nigeria, I became worried. This station, radio biafra, is reported to be spewing gibberish, distorting facts and inciting the people of that zone against some certain ethnic groups and the Nigerian state. My worry soon grew into frustration when the Nigerian broadcasting commission could not cut off signals from this station for days. The promoters of this radio are trying to exploit the existing discontent in that region to cause unrest.

It's unfortunate that some mischievous people have tried to explain this as freedom of information. But freedom is not absolute; it comes with responsibility, and when your freedom threatens the peace of the community or the freedom of others, the government is duty bound to act.

Just like the sermon by that blood thirty preacher, the offensive message from this radio station can lead to a bloodbath in the south east. The promoters of hate must be stopped.

PoliticsWhy Buhari Can't Afford To Fail by McISRAEL(op): 5:03pm On Jul 14, 2015
Let me start by telling you a short story as told to me by my friend who heard it from his friend.

Few weeks ago, I was in Lagos for an aptitude test. We were about five hundred - my rough estimate - in the hall. Ventilation was good enough, the chairs were comfortable, and the instructors, friendly. As expected, I was nervous. To my right, was a young lady who seemed to me to be too comfortable, and to my left, a guy who appeared to be distressed; he kept on adjusting his chair and robbing his wet palms against his trouser.

"Your own good o! You see, I graduated with a first class, so I can't afford to fail this test."

This is my interpretation of the above: it's pardonable for me to fail but it'd be a tragedy if he did. The difference is in our class of degree; being a first class graduate, he's constantly under pressure to prove himself. His reputation was at stake.
That was his thought though. And when, an hour later, he failed and I passed, I wondered why a first class would fail such a test.

End of story.

One of the many reasons some Nigerians voted for President Muhammadu Buhari in the last general election was because of his military antecedents. Boko haram militants had become a torn in the flesh and Jonathan had not being able to bring an end to the insurgency. So, it's believed that a retired military general, who in 1983, just months before Shehu Shagari was overthrown in a coup, pushed back Chadian forces who had invaded Nigeria through Borno state and is credited for bringing an end to Maitasine violence in parts of northern Nigeria would perform better than a civilian. Buhari was once governor of the north-eastern Nigeria, and incidentally, that's the same zone where we have the insurgency issue.

One other reason that endeared Buhari to Nigerians was his austere nature; unlike most Nigerian leaders and politicians, he's not obsessed with wealth accumulation. Even his critics agree that he's the least corrupt of all former leaders - they just won't buy the idea that he's incorruptible.
Jonathan's government was already competing for the top spot in the list of the most corrupt government in our history, and NNPC's corruption and inefficiency had become unbearable.

Again, we agreed that an 'incorruptible' Buhari, one who was between 1976 and 1978, minister of petroleum and natural resources and chairman of NNPC, would stem the rising tide of financial recklessness and impunity that was bringing the country to its kneels.

Just like any human being, Buhari has dark spots. His twenty months rein was repressive. The ruling party warned us, like a leopard, Buhari couldn't change his spots. Unknown to them, that was what Nigerians craved for; am improved version of the no nonsense Buhari, one that will come down hard on terrorism and use the courts to send treasury looters to jail. And so, his many sins were forgiven.

The reasons why Buhari won are the same reasons why he cannot afford to fail; his reputation is at stake. But unlike the gentleman to my left who was nervous, Buhari seem too comfortable, like the lady to my right. But the clock is ticking.

In four years time, Nigerians will compare his achievements with that of his predecessor who was neither known for competence nor discipline. It'll be a tragedy if he fails.

-Mark Ademola Israel.

I would advise you write a feedback email to dragnet to air your complaints.
Honestly, I have considered that option. But on learning that Dragnet might not be the ones that set the questions, I changed my mind.
I also belief Dragnet was probably not the ones that set the questions; they were just contracted to conduct the test because they have the capacity. There was no single error in that of kpmg I participated in few days ago. And the same Dragnet administered it.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Ernst & Young Graduate Trainee Recruitment 2015 by McISRAEL(m): 7:03am On Jun 25, 2015
It's really funny that someone would claim there were no errors in those questions. Seriouslyhuh Are you sure we answered the Same questionshuh Those that wrote the kpmg test will know this EY verbal section is a slap on Dragnet. They really bleeped up. You set questions to test basic grammar but the questions themselves were full of errors.

I got the success mail too. I called one of the numbers on the mail because I wouldn't be able to make it. She said the instruction was clear; that it is unnecessary for those who are not presently in Lagos to come over. If you're not in Lagos presently, just give her a call and she'll give you an E-mail address to send your forms to. I think it'll save you some cost.

Poems For ReviewMy Akwa Ibom Girl by McISRAEL(op): 10:17pm On May 03, 2015
People think she’s beautiful;

But beauty has elastic limit.

I used to think her an angel,

But angels are not humans.

Smiling is not the easiest exercise;

For her, it’s painless.

Give her a frown,

You get a smile in return.

You see no star in the day,

But this star brightens my day.

I see her every morning,

she keeps my company at night.

She’s not ‘an African Lady’

She’s my Akwa Ibom Girl!

Poems For ReviewAn African Lady by McISRAEL(op): 9:31am On May 02, 2015
She’s black. But, despises the black tradition

And culture.

She loves the white man’s ways;

Moral decadence in modern western society Excites her.

The way of the light skinned man seems Perfect;

Moral bankruptcy is not an issue.

African culture is overbearing;

It fetters the Modern woman.

A culture that places a woman below a man, Limits her freedom.

Such an outdated culture

Must be discarded.

After all, she’s a Christian. A modern Christian!

She’s answerable to Christ, not tradition.

Reading the bible or praying is not a priority;

After all, God is only interested in the heart.

You dare not call her a woman. That will surely infuriate her.

She’s a lady!

Poems For ReviewMy Best Friend's Gloom - A Poem by McISRAEL(op): 6:08pm On Apr 30, 2015
Another feather to my cap,

I have added.

I wanted straight from

The heart smile.

Instead,

I got a suppressed gloom

From my best friend.

His trials darkens the fringes

Of a joy chaste.

He is not unhappy with

My new feather.

Just sad he has none.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, some of you may be wondering what this poem is all about. In a nutshell, the poem is saying sometimes our friends may seem unhappy with our success but it could be that they're genuinely happy; the gloomy face may be that they wish to be successful as Well.

Poems For ReviewThank God It's There And Not Here by McISRAEL(op):
They came for our neighbors

Armed with grenades and

Slaughter knives

We said, "thank God it's there

And not here."

They burnt down schools,

And killed pupils in their sleep.

We were alarmed but grateful;

We said, "thank God it's there

And not here."

These vicious devils from Hades

Will not stop.

They even kidnapped young girls

And took turns to defile them.

Our eyes moist with tears, but

We said, "thank God it's there

And not here."

Just yesterday,

Our neighbors' wives were raped,

Their children made to watch.

This is most despicable!

We pitied our neighbors, but thanked

Our God for sparing us.

We said, "thank God it's there

And not here."

Determined to defend themselves,

They armed themselves with sticks

And stones.

A stick against a gun? Absurd!

Why can't they buy guns too?

That's what we would have done.

"We said, thank God it's there

And not here."

They seized their fields and cattles,

Our neighbors were dying of hunger.

But for this deadly enemy,

We would donate foods to our friends.

What If they came for us?

God forbid!

We said, "thank God it's there

And not here."

Today, they've come for us.

Our houses set ablaze,

Our husbands slaughtered

Our girls defiled, . . .

"O lord," we cried,

"Save us!"

This poem is dedicated to those in northern Nigeria who are suffering and dying in the hands of the terrorist group, Boko Haram.

Sending out appointment letters to addresses is very unreliable and even organizations know this, and that's why they always follow up with a call or an E-mail. What most firms do is to send you an email telling you you've been offered employment and to pick up your appointment letter on a particular day. There're lots of houses without numbers in Nigeria today. I live in one of such.
