SarkinYarki:I had to login to quote you, this was my first thought as i read the headline. This life is a mystery, Brown Ideye should remember Peter in the bible, out of overzealousness to prove his loyalty to his master Jesus, unknowingly set himself up, and his fall was epic. Though, I'm not in any way encouraging financial recklessness, but some truth are better left unsaid. "Let he that thinketh he standeth, take heed, lest he fall" says the apostle Paul. |
I have noticed lack of awareness, or should i say no effort at addressing or condemning this ugly trend of fraudulent activities of "most" artisans in Nigeria, my apologies to the few honest ones. If i begin to narrate my ordeals here, this post will be so lengthy, i have had a bitter experience with them on different occasions and sectors, from mechanics, carpenters, roofing sheets installers, caterers, you name it, the list is endless. From the very moment you gave them work, they will start scheming on how to fleece you, no matter how well you pay them, so the issue of underpayment is out of it, but rather pure greed. So my brief questions are, what is the way forward, how best can we as a people stop this ugly trend or discourage this fraudulent behavior? |
Lol... as expected, more to follow. I stated it earlier In my thread. " Though, the timing and implementation of this noble CBN policy is not in any way near perfect, we must take cognizance of the danger and the consequences of opposing it. The recent SC pronouncement is just a little setback, because the policy was designed in a two-pronged fashion to achieve a double result. On one hand, to stop vote buying, on the other hand arouse and rekindle the people's anger against the APC, and i must admit that the latter has been achieved." Here in my area, the APC folks are doing nocturnal campaigns. |
You're partially correct sir, i put it to you that all forces in the universe are against Tinubu succeeding Buhari as Nigeria president. Mr Bulabaa is an anathema to Nigerians, i urge all well meaning and sane citizens to show great resistance to Tinubu's manipulations, his forbidden presidency will bring great sorrow and travail upon the masses. God forbid this tragedy, VOTE WISELY! |
This is good news, but we earnestly hope and demand that the president fulfill his promises of delivering a free, fair and credible election. The Emilokan crooner should never be allowed to fraudulently buy his way into Aso rock. |

Mr Falana, a well respected legal luminary should not get himself involved in this political fight, the FG knows what to make of the SC order. |
Dear citizens of good conscience, whatever sacrifice is needed to cast this biblical Jonah of our time ( TINUBU) into the sea, so that our boat ( NIGERIA) will calmly reach the seashore is worth it, lest we're doomed. VOTE WISELY! |

My dear compatriot, this is my personal appeal to all of us concerned citizens of good conscience, to not despair, God is on our side and we shall surely prevail against the agents of darkness. I'm very much aware of the scorching hardship we all are experiencing all over the country as a result of this CBN naira swap policy, let us please bear this temporary suffering, for it's for our greater good, considering what is at stake ( 2023 poll) It's on this note,i charge all of us to be very vigilant and clever, so as not to be swayed by the antics of the political rogues, who suddenly began to show concern and love for the masses they hitherto abandoned. Though, the timing and implementation of this noble CBN policy is not in any way near perfect, we must take cognizance of the danger and the consequences of opposing it. VOTE WISELY! |
Hopefully the FG will retain the Feb 10 deadline |
Whether fake or real News, we should leave nothing to chance, Tinubu should not be given any life line, Pmb and Inec should stick to the original dates for the polls, we concern citizens want this election conducted now that people's anger is rekindled against the APC, so that the masses can vent their anger through the ballot. Stopping Tinubu is a national and divine call of duty, such a desperate old man! |
seunmsg:I like the fact that you're wailing, patriotic Nigerians should just bear with president Buhari, this temporary hardship is the prize ( sacrifice) we sane citizens have to pay to stop Tinubu. |
Anybody but Tinubu |
We should patriotically support whoever God elect to use in stopping the Bulabaa crooner, the Pharaoh of our time. |
"In case you feel frustrated at anything and you are airing your frustration here and there, or a transfer of aggression or frustration, the Church is not your place for transferring frustration and aggression. We are willing to help you if you have so much bitterness, so much frustration and so much distraction in your life and you don’t know where to vent it but in situations like this, we can help you" I don't really think this statement here is necessary, anyway, may her soul rest in peace. |
I presumed you're a sensible person, a lot of good advice has been given to you already, to be very frank with you, marriage is totally different from friendship. And pls pay more attention to the comments of those married already, as far as you both are resident in Nigeria and considering your age, i will out of experience humbly advice you to toe the path of Regina Daniel "e get why" |
Madibah:God bless you bro, for calling out that fellow, for his sheer and irritating hypocrisy. |
I'm currently contemplating on keeping the mobile line dormant, so that Mtn can recycle it again and re-allocate it to another customer. |
youngsahito:I do, but unfortunately, i don't use to answer those calls, and the last time i managed to answer the caller, it was unsuccessful due to language barrier(Yoruba) as i don't understand Yoruba. |
Good day everyone, i read a thread here created by a Nairalander (Megaplayboy) about receiving a strange bank alert on a new line. After going through the comments, i became very worried and disturbed, because I'm in somewhat similar situation now. It was in 2018, i decided to get a new line, specially for the purpose of reaching those of my debtors that are ignoring my calls. I bought an Mtn line from these roadside vendors. But to my surprise, there was no mobile number inscribed on the Sim pack, so i asked why and the vendor told me that after my registration that a number will be allocated to me by Mtn. So i registered, surprised again that there was no thumbprinting in the process, only my details and picture was taken, i paid them and left. Couple of hours later i received the number from Mtn. A month later, i got a credit alert from GTB even though i have no account with them, so it dawn on me that i just bought a recycled line. The account has grown gradually (monthly allowance) to a reasonable amount without any form of debit since then. I would also say that, the bank (Gtb) is not trying, in the sense that i have been receiving all sort of code and numbers to access ( debit) the said account, including a daily recharge of 20k naira, mere phone number should not expose someone account i suppose. I have not touched the account, but have kept the line and seldom use it, in order to keep it active and avoid it getting to the wrong hand. But now i don't intend keeping it again, pls how do i disengage myself from this line, as i suspect that it's a dead person's account(recycled line). Cc dragnet, puskin. |
APC hmm, the more you look the less you see! |
Righteousness89:My annoyance with you is that, you don't practice what you preach, all what you know is to go about derailing every topic with your sermon of hypocrisy. Was it not the other day you were busy supporting Gov. Wike's wickedness against his people. So much for being a "Christian" mind you, I'm an ardent believer of the gospel of Christ. |
Obaseki should just give up at this juncture, and port to any other political party of his choice. He, Obaseki lost the battle, the very moment Osho survived the final onslaught against his chairmanship position, when he (Obaseki) went for the kill and failed. We, the neutral political observers, already knew it will end in tears for Gov. Obaseki, as this scenario is akin to a football match, where the center referee(Oshiomole) is not just a fan, but a club owner of one of the competing teams in the match, so the outcome is very much obvious. And Obaseki should stop banking on Buhari at this stage, as he (Buhari) has not saved any of his very close political allies before in this kind of tussle, case study e.g Okoracha, Amaosun and Amaechi. |
No problem, we will all witness their CORONATION ceremony by this time next two weeks, since they've refused to act responsibly in this trying time. The message is very clear, stay safe to save others! |
People should just try to behave responsibly this period, by observing every necessary health guidelines. Stay safe to save others! |
[quote author=BrilliantGigolo post=88526067]I rarely comment on this forum, but i logged in, just to like your comment. As caustic as it might sound to anybody, that remains the truth. God bless you. |
I refuse to be deceived by the Govt, this press release is nothing but a damage control, aimed at dishonestly absorbing the Govt. of any share of the blame in this whole saga, instead of genuine admitttance of making recovery of five patients, out of the six escapees. So if they (Govt) totally dismissed it as a baseless rumor, how come the phone no. of the first patient on the rumored list was so accurate and being used by one in their isolation facility? Even as i condemn the actions of those inconsiderate beings. |
This is very sad and disheartening, a clear case of "fools rush in where angels fear to tread". May God help the citizens, amen. |
SoNature:Thanks bro, it has actually exceeded 30 days, and the way it's going is exactly what you described here and I'm very helpless. That's why i brought the matter here for an extensive discuss, so that i can make an informed decision on how best to recover this money. I may after all said and done, consider the legal option (sue) as you posited. |
OCTAVO:This is very bad! Why must a bank be behaving this way, this is the same feelers I'm getting from some people around me,who have had similar experience from Access bank. The worst part of it being that, the CC will so frustrate you until you give up. |
No matter which side of the divide you so belong, this is very bad for democracy. Governance in Nigeria now has been reduced to a total joke, whether APC or PDP, a very sad situation. |
