ferdimako:I have had my account running since 2013. Each time there will be changes, a correspondence email is always sent to me for updates. Validity is surely more than 60 days. |
gnykelly:I have actually filled out the forms to the extent of my progress. You can always save and log out for later. Will continue as I progress. True about no craftiness. Its all about the facts as you have to show evidence when invited to apply for visa! |
gnykelly:Thanks gnykelly! Will give it a thot as I progress. |
ferdimako:@ferdimako, many thanks for ur thots! |
bossladyMo:@bossladyMo, may not need it as accounting is a relevant qualification. I appreciate your advice though, thanks! |
bjayzeez:@bjayzeez, Accounting is a standard qualification for auditing. My IELTS results is 8.0 overall with 7+ in all categories. Thanks all the same! |
ferdimako:Yeah. Duties have been more in areas of auditing operational processes, testing compliance to control policies & highlighting risk areas within the system. This is supported by suggesting process improvements to reduce financial costs/loss, eliminate chances of fraud, etc. |
ferdimako:Much appreciated ferdimako. My school adopts itranscript so no delays usually. Currently waiting till June for the 9th year to be deemed skilled for 8 years. I'm aiming to claim 15 points in that category. |
mrnilobrawn:Many thanks mrnilobrawn!!! |
Hi all, I'm new to the thread. Have read thru and found it very interesting, helpful, & inspiring. I have aspirations as most of us do in here and congrats to all who have recorded successes in one way or the other. I'm aspiring towards subclass 189 or 190. Counting on your experiences as regards to vetting my lil profile below: Nominated occupation: Internal Auditor Assessing Body: VETASSESS (Waiting till June to complete 9 years of experience before applying) Qualifications: BSc Accountancy 2003, ACCA Certificate in international auditing 2015, Member Institute of internal auditors - Nigeria(certification in view) Years of Experience: 8 years in same organization, (June 2015 will make it 9 years.) Documents: Will be as required on VETASSESS website. From above, what are my chances of a positive response on a scale of 1 - 10? Thanks for anticipated response(s). |
solomonwis: Has the person used the card for online payment before? There could have been a mismatch between the card details and what is entered on the application form. Please ask the person to cross check. Thanks Solomon for your response. Will ask the person about possible challenges that must have surfaced. |
solomonwis: 1. PLEASE DO NOT ABBREVIATE write as much as the space provided can contain, leave the rest...You already have documents stating the name of the Institution attended.@Solomomn, Someone used a naira mastercard debit card to apply. CIC returned his application stating reason as "several attempts to charge fees with the card failed". I'm yet to see anyone who succeeded in using a naira debit card. Please can you clarify this? |
sholean: @mclarry,On the other hand, if you're being contacted by WES, you do a reply to them as their email address will only show as"Contactca User" |
sholean: @mclarry,my email as provided during my online application to WES. |
sholean: What is the Update now?[sup][/sup]@Sholean, UNN sends verification via email to WES - June 6th IELTS test - June 8th WES claims not to have received verification - June 10th Passed info to UNN - June 10th UNN Resends verification via email to WES - June 11th WES acknowledges receipt and my evaluation put in progress - June 12th WES projects June 20th for evaluation completion WES completes evaluation - June 19th WES sends 2 copies of evaluation via courier - June 19th 2 copies of WES evaluation reaches my address - June 24th Collected IELTS test results(band 8.0) - June 26th Collected Police Certificates - June 27th Bank reference letter & bank statements - June 27th Raised GTB bank draft for application fees(CAD$1,100) - June 27th Application package sent to CIO - June 27th Application received by CIO - July 4th June 27th... one of the craziest day of my life but ended in accomplishment ![]() Journey so far! |
Royaldee: This is quiet strange. With lots of thousands of applications sent. Less than 30That's purely as from May 4 applications. Its been stated since first day of opening. WES and IELTS is the slow kick off but also advantageous because when you scale through to a complete application, you,ve just eliminated 50% of processing delays. These were put in place by CIC to speed up their processes. I hope that clears your doubts @Royaldee. |
LadyGuinivere: Update:For People that applied with Cards, U might want to check your banks. Somebody's card was debited yesterday so CIC is working@LadyGuinivere, kindly confirm cards to mean our naira debit cards(mastercard, verve, visa etc.) Thanks! |
To all, documents not in English or French requires 2 things: 1. Notarized certified translations - not notarized photocopy of documents already in English or French(e.g. if your translating from German to English or French) 2. A photocopy of the original document in German as in example above. I hope this clears the doubt on our minds as notarization of documents in English(for Nigerians) is not just absolutely unnecessary but also not required. There is a last warning in that paragraph: Do not send any additional documents when submitting your application to CIO. Cheers! |
ifechukwukamso: @solomonwis Read pages 11-17 of the ATTACHED GUIDE TO APPLICATION UPDATED LAST IN 2013-04-29@ifechukwukamso, First misguide: ATTACHED GUIDE TO APPLICATION UPDATED LAST IN 2013-04-29. Please changes to the current applications came into effect in 2013-05-04. Second misguide: No notarization needed for copies of documents except for translation purposes. See insert to find current checklist in use and note sentences underlined in red: |
solomonwis: Yes, you can pay with your naira debit card and that will be debited immediately you are informed of a successful payment. Many thanks and well appreciated! |
@Solomonwis, can one pay for WES and CIC applications using the naira mastercard? If yes, how long doest it take for WES to debit ur account after the online payment via their website? |
LadyGuinivere: Saw this on one of those other timelines for FSW 2013. Thought it was pretty hilarious(and I hope its so not truePeeps like Vanessa should be learning from these experiences. |
LadyGuinivere: Sweet pea we know that. Nobody's crazy. What my good man mclarry was simply saying is expect d worst and hope for the best. You're point LadyGuinvere! Vanessa, your response lacked strength due to pessimistic stands you have chosen. There shall be more 6 months testimonies for those who not only believe but have their complete, unencumbered applications sent in! Can I hear somebody shout HALELUYAH!!! |
ferdimako: My IELTS test date mate.Am up against it in Abuja. It's academic! Where are speaking and venue? Good luck to us!Ferdimako, are you applying for studies as yours is the academic test. I'm slated for the general test for immigration purposes. I did the speaking test last Sunday at the British Council Ikoyi. Listening, writing and reading for Lagos candidates will be at the National theatre, Iganmu Lagos. You should have been contacted by now if you'ré taking next Saturday's test. Emails have been sent with candidate numbers to that effect. |
vanessa_ra: , ;DI dy laugh o. Depending on your Visa office, Accra is very slow and has a huge backlog.Vanessa, I'm well aware of that forum as I visit here and there simultaneously whenever I go online. We are here to share good and bad experiences. In 2010, with the Accra backlogs, my colleague applied and He was done in 6 months! True it took some 2 years. This stuff is on a case by case basis. His applications had no issues whatsoever! CIC is well aware of the backlogs worldwide not only Accra office and if you truly visit the forum you're referring me too then I expect that you know better. To clear the backlogs, CIC came up with the new criteria effective May 4th. Please lets not misguide or discourage people here. Today is exactly a month since the new criteria took effect and believe it or not, some of us will struggle to satisfy all and if you do... 6 months max you're done! But if there is an issue with your application, its only natural to experience delays. CIC has stressed this enough saying "ensure its COMPLETE to avoid delays". I strongly believe this forum is to guide us more with our individual experiences and knowledge so when we apply or even after, issues that may cause delays could be dealt with. Again you should have known that most members of the canadavisaforum are not May 4th applicants. They are sharing experiences from previous years which is still helpful. Most of us here are looking forward to this new criteria and to everyone out there... SEND IN THE RIGHT AND COMPLETE APPLICATION, 6 MONTHS MAX YOU WILL BE DONE! |
CIC will Process after May 4th applications separately and immediately as it is under a new criteria! |
Thanks LadyGuinivere. This forum is a very helpful one. Ideas shared here are second to none. Applicants should be open to them and take advantage wisely. WES evaluations will be one of the slowest points for this year's applications. If other institutions can go the UNN way of itranscripts then processes will be more efficient. I'm proud of this advantage. Another slow point will be IELTS. Yeah 2nd week of June will be ideal. Let's keep rolling!! |
LadyGuinivere: ?Great Lioness! Hey People! Happy new month and new hopes as we continue in our search for the maple leaf. I wish us all a successful quest and God bless! |

sometimes I get confused as I share traits with scorpio and sagittariuos. Born November 22, in some books that's the last day in scorpio while others, last day in sagitt. So which is really which? but I tend to love scorpio |

? May be those received on May 4 were the only ones reported.
