mclarry:Greatest Lion. Welcome to this forum. Oh yeah, the great quest for the maple leaf. I presume ur application will be ready 2nd week of June Btw, its great UNN has the transcript online application thingie. Very efficient 1 Like |

Thanks LadyGuinivere. This forum is a very helpful one. Ideas shared here are second to none. Applicants should be open to them and take advantage wisely. WES evaluations will be one of the slowest points for this year's applications. If other institutions can go the UNN way of itranscripts then processes will be more efficient. I'm proud of this advantage. Another slow point will be IELTS. Yeah 2nd week of June will be ideal. Let's keep rolling!! |

LadyGuinivere: A few tips for those getting their documents verified with WES Pls,am I to send all my degree certificate together with my transcript. And while WES evaluation is going on can I go on with my FSW online application? Thanks 1 Like |
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by solomonwis(m): 10:53am On Jun 02, 2013 |
sportico: You are only requested to send in your degree certificates and other certificates acceptable to WES while the issuing institutions are requested to send the transcripts directly without your interference. You cannot apply for the FSWP until all your documents are ready. You cannot apply for FSWP online, you have to dispatch your application to the CIO in Nova Scotia. Hope this help.... |
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by bayo1(m): 3:15pm On Jun 02, 2013 |
@ solomonwis Please on form IMMM5604E (Declaration from non-accompanying parent/guardian for minors). Do I need to fill this form for my kids? I already noted that my kids would be accompanying with my spouse in other forms, so I don't have any non-accompanying parent/guardian. Do I also need to conform my job titles with the titles on the NOC list? For instance, my current job title is IP Architect, and looking at the NOC list, i can't find that particular title there but have other titles that match my IT/Telecoms experiences. Thanks. |
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by solomonwis(m): 3:27pm On Jun 02, 2013 |
bayo1: @ solomonwis You don't need to fill that form. Form IMMM5604E is for people who are taking other people's children {minors} along with them to Canada. It is more like a consent letter releasing their wards to people who are moving down to Canada. |
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by bayo1(m): 3:55pm On Jun 02, 2013 |
solomonwis: Thanks, what about the second question? |
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by solomonwis(m): 4:28pm On Jun 02, 2013 |
bayo1: @ solomonwis Your occupation must be one of the eligible occupations as listed on the cic website. The NOC job title must also be as listed on www.cic.gc.ca I have noticed that a great number of people ignore what is on the NOC website just so they can "scale through" and pass off their occupation as being eligible. You need to read through the NOC website to know the NOC title, the job description/job requirements as well as qualifications and experiences that qualify under each title. You will not want to throw away your hard earned money as well as the experience the traumatic experience that follow suit when one's application is turned down. You have to tailor your work experience to suit what is expected of each eligible occupation as listed on the NOC (Read more here http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/Introduction.aspx}. For your occupation, what is closely related and listed on the eligible occupation is •2147 Computer engineers (except software engineers/designers). You can only apply under this eligible occupation if your work experience and qualifications match what is stated on the NOC website. Note that the following job titles are listed as qualified under Computer Engineers: application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) design engineer capacity planner, network capacity planning analyst computer engineer computer engineer (except software) computer hardware engineer computer systems engineer computer telecommunications specialist data communications specialist engineer, computer (except software) engineer, computer hardware engineer, hardware engineer, network systems engineer, optical communications engineer, optical communications hardware engineer, telecommunications hardware fibre-optic network designer hardware circuit board designer hardware design engineer hardware development engineer hardware engineer hardware specialist, telecommunications hardware technical architect microprocessor designer and application engineer microwave systems engineer microwave transmission systems engineer network architect – computer systems network designer – computer systems network engineer, communication hardware network specialist – computer systems network systems engineer network test engineer optical communications engineer optical communications hardware engineer optical systems engineer – telecommunications radio systems engineer satellite data transmission engineer spacecraft electronics engineer – hardware specialist, telecommunications hardware systems designer – hardware technical architect – hardware telecommunications engineer telecommunications hardware engineer telecommunications hardware specialist telecommunications specialist – computer systems telecommunications systems specialist wireless communications network engineer (Please read more here http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=2147) You can then determine if you qualify under any of the listed occupations classified as Computer Engineer. |
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by bayo1(m): 7:06pm On Jun 02, 2013 |
@ solomonwis, thanks for your response. My question is this - There are portions of the forms that expect applicants to state their current occupation title. In my own case, my current job title is IP Architect as earlier mentioned. But this title is not among the list, do I have to change it to conform with one of the job titles in the list, e.g. engineer, network system? Or should I fill my current job title? |
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by solomonwis(m): 7:27pm On Jun 02, 2013 |
bayo1: @ solomonwis, thanks for your response. You will state it as it is. That is, you will state your occupation as your current designation. This is because you will need to provide a work reference that will state your present designation and job description. This however has to conform to the NOC list. You will state the eligible occupation and code under which you want your application assessed in form IMMM0008. |

Am curious. Will CIC start to process the May 4th applications immedately or they'l fling it into the Q of the previous year's applications? Any takes? |
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by mclarry(m): 8:23pm On Jun 03, 2013 |

jasminehunny: You don't have to post the same question several times! You will get your reference number when you pay your application fee on WES website. You can pay with your Naira debit card if you have one. |
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by LadyGuinivere: 6:54am On Jun 04, 2013 |
solomonwis:True that! I applied this year. Paid with a card to WES. Did not notarise anything. And like Solomon said, u get ur ref no AFTER you have paid. So look at the site again and commence from the right place. Good luck |

vanessa_ra: , ;DI dy laugh o. Depending on your Visa office, Accra is very slow and has a huge backlog. Vanessa, I'm well aware of that forum as I visit here and there simultaneously whenever I go online. We are here to share good and bad experiences. In 2010, with the Accra backlogs, my colleague applied and He was done in 6 months! True it took some 2 years. This stuff is on a case by case basis. His applications had no issues whatsoever! CIC is well aware of the backlogs worldwide not only Accra office and if you truly visit the forum you're referring me too then I expect that you know better. To clear the backlogs, CIC came up with the new criteria effective May 4th. Please lets not misguide or discourage people here. Today is exactly a month since the new criteria took effect and believe it or not, some of us will struggle to satisfy all and if you do... 6 months max you're done! But if there is an issue with your application, its only natural to experience delays. CIC has stressed this enough saying "ensure its COMPLETE to avoid delays". I strongly believe this forum is to guide us more with our individual experiences and knowledge so when we apply or even after, issues that may cause delays could be dealt with. Again you should have known that most members of the canadavisaforum are not May 4th applicants. They are sharing experiences from previous years which is still helpful. Most of us here are looking forward to this new criteria and to everyone out there... SEND IN THE RIGHT AND COMPLETE APPLICATION, 6 MONTHS MAX YOU WILL BE DONE! |

ferdimako: Ferdimako, are you applying for studies as yours is the academic test. I'm slated for the general test for immigration purposes. I did the speaking test last Sunday at the British Council Ikoyi. Listening, writing and reading for Lagos candidates will be at the National theatre, Iganmu Lagos. You should have been contacted by now if you'ré taking next Saturday's test. Emails have been sent with candidate numbers to that effect. |

The truth is always bitter. Check the forum and you will see people that have applied for May 4th Stream. Package your application well and I hope you will get a favourable response within six months. NB For those interested in hearing the truth pls submitt your application and PLS don't expect to get it in 6months time. Focus on other things, take your mind off immigration and DON'T RESIGN from your place of work. If you need further clarification you may contact- www.cic.gc.ca and check for Accra Visa office. All the BEST. |

vanessa_ra: The truth is always bitter. Check the forum and you will see people that have applied for May 4th Stream.Sweet pea we know that. Nobody's crazy. What my good man mclarry was simply saying is expect d worst and hope for the best. I have seen d stats as well, some people actually get in 6months, while some did the whole process in 2 years and above. I frankly do not think there's anybody that embarked on this FSW journey without doing a bit of research here and there All in all, keepin the faith is about being optimistic which I most certainly are. And if anybody still wants to live in happyland of 6months *shrugs* it still don't matter 1 Like |
