My brother on the matter of roads, Obaseki hands are tied. Do you think if he had the ability to fix roads like Sapple road, he would not have done it? All na contract! In Edo we are so unlucky that so many roads are federal roads, due to our geography. Obaseki is nit to blame
Sir, I don’t agree with you on this. I will give my reasons.
1. The FG is in Abuja, very far from the people. They don’t know what we suffer, Obaseki does. Waiting for Tinubu who may never visit Benin through out Obaseki’s tenor is a dead end.
2. Obaseki has his boys cutting ticket and collecting money on the said Federal Road, why hasn’t he stopped them? If he can generate revenue from the road, then he can fix it.
3. Evbuabogun, Winners, both of Sapele Road links Upper and can easily decongest Sapele Road. The both roads are Trunk C roads controlled by the State government, yet in terrible shape.
4. Go to Forestry, Mission Road and experience traffic because the roads are small. I’d expect a reasonable governor to take out some stores, expand the roads and for traders selling on pedestrian walk, jail them.

Obaseki is instead overlaying asphalt on roads that hitherto had to problems, e.g the road adjacent former Edo State Library leading to State CID. That road had no single problem. Road where Esama house Dey, had no problem. Why disturb those roads?

Chief if you go to Aduwawa and Ikpoba Hill axis, you will weep for Edo roads.

My brother, I appreciate and respect your civility in engaging me with levels of politeness I don’t see in most APC members who act like Kabaka for the most.

Now, I sure would love to know what Okpebolo is doing, maybe that will convince me because as at now, the said Okpbebolor has not been able to come out to speak for himself. Being a man with several projects, I will expect him to come out with his full chest yo defend his projects. Nyesom Wike will do that. Oshiomhole will do that. Why is Okpebolor’s case different?

By overrunning, I mean APC is campaigning in all the books and crannies of Edo systematically. Even within pdp, many are rooting for Okpebholo. The records shows that Asue failed at sterling Bank and Nigeria breweries. Okpebholo has never held any public office until last year yet he has over 100 projects. He singlehandedly electrified his villa, constructed schools and boreholes. Asue village is still in darkness yet he has the resources to provide light. Asue runs away from any philanthropy or humanitarian activity. Governance is not for politicians or government alone but a joint project. Go to the east, most communities are developed by well meaning individuals.Asue is a failure
6months is enough to execute more than a 100 projects but you lie when you say he has over a 100projects. A man that asserts prove. Post the projects for verification.
I maintain that Asuen is not a public service holder and owes no responsibility to do that. Where in the east are you referencing because I served in the East, Ohafia, precisely. I transcommuted Abiriba, Afikpo, Owerri as a practicing lawyer in their courts. The Court of Appeal was in Owerri at the time. Your assertions are untrue.

That adultery is not a crime in the South doesn’t make it justifiable or morally upright. The law may not cater for the commission or omission of an act, however, where it becomes morally expedient to observe same, we are duty bound to do so.

Those who have avoided interviews in time past, how have they performed? Will you invite them to your company?

It is not a winning strategy. Those pushing it are not patriots as I don’t see why we put political winnings ahead of governance. It’s akin to arguing proposed ministers should not have portfolios attached when going for confirmation because no law makes it obligatory.

Before we push out these narratives we should ponder on how the outside world see us. Life does not start and end with politics. What counts is how you improve lives through governance.

You are very correct especially in your first two paragraphs but how has Asue rich CV helped Edo? Asue village has no electricity currently. Unfortunately,APC have overrun Edo
I’ll start from you last sentence. When you say APC overran Edo, what do you mean? Don’t tell me banking or rigging is what you are alluding to and proud of because this narrative is what we want to change for the sake of our children. I’m not sure you can point to political thugs as mentors for your kids.

If you want to test APC’s popularity, give candidates a level playing field.

On Aspen’s CV, I asked in your private company, will you employ Okpebolor ahead of Asuen?
Asuen was never a politician or public servant, so I don’t see how you want his CV helping Edo. Hold Edo politicians accountable for the absence of light in his village. If you as a private citizen have not planted a transformer in your village, you have no moral justification to call out another private citizen for that.

I just hope he wins; Obaseki has really messed up this guy’s chances.

Obaseki who single handedly destroyed 131-houses in one night; even while the occupants were begging for mercies
I don’t like Obaseki, but the Oghoghobi people ought to have done their findings before purchasing government land. Just walk into EdoGIS, conduct a search on the land you want to buy and you game.

Again, Obaseki performed abysmally in road development. I stay on PZ road off Sapele Road. Going home is hectic as Sapele Road is in bad shape. Obaseki can argue for all we care that Sapele Rod is FG road, but na Edo indigenes Dey stay there and he can do more than wait for FG or put up notices that it is a FG road. However, in terms of human capital development and civil service, Obaseki will get an A1, quote me anywhere. If you are in Benin, I can take you around and show you that.

That said, Asuen himself has a rich CV that we cannot look away from. Same with Akpata. If it’s your company, will you leave the both and employ Okpebolor?
PoliticsRe: Edo Guber: PDP Flags Off Governorship Campaign In Ubiaja (Pictures) by mcquin(m): 9:57am On Aug 30, 2024
Asuen or Akpata, we are good.

Okpebolor should first subject himself to interviews, debates and media scrutiny before asking Edomite’s to vote him. We can’t repeat same mistake of not having politicians engage us before voting.

Being smart, intelligent and healthy makes part of leadership. You can’t be dull and necessarily make a good leader.

Yes he is. But all of you will suffer for 10 years before things can get better. This is because the same policies of the president are the right policies that encourage sustainable economy of any country. Production of food and other things cannot come up within 36 months. Other leaders had put Nigeria in a mess before now. Impatience of Nigerians contribute to all we witness today. Nigerians want free food, free things. You do not want to pay tax! Government is not running any business! It is the people- the private sector that drives the economy while you pay the government tax in return to provide security and enabling environment to continue with business. Asiwaju will make Nigeria better. We should all do our best in making the country a good place to live. Stop being lazy. Stop all your hate words. Do not engage in fraud. Do not inflate the prices of your goods. Encourage farming. Encourage education. Do research and provide services!

Let us make Nigeria great again!
But these were the same arguments you guys pushed under Buhari’s administration and 8 years went down the drain.
It shouldn’t take 10years to pluck the low hanging fruits. If the FG cuts down governance cost, Nigerians will take the hint and make necessary sacrifices. That’s what will boost patriotism. Don’t talk austerity to Nigerians while spending 90billion on hajj.

At least the FG has come out yo acknowledge the hardship, their supporters should be humble enough to admit same and apologize to decent Nigerians that their choice of leader hasn’t been so fantastic.

The mother cannot carry the child on her back forever.
Petrol and dollar subsidy is the child.
Nigerian Government is the Mother
Sir, go check the records; several countries have been raising their GDP growth post covid. What is needed is leadership that Nigeria is lacking. You keep using the analogy of a mother and child when you should be talking the cart and horse, which comes first. Should refineries not be working before taking out subsidy? What of power generation? People need not consume fuel that much if there was power. Naira would still be strong if we had power that translates into manufacturing. So why take out subsidy without fixing these first?

That said, how many struggling post-Covid economies go around changing furnitures and importing cars for a National Assembly that is considered over bloated and dormant, in the face of a weak naira even when there are indigenous automobile companies?

You people keep talking recession the past 10years. Are there no countries that grew their GDP incredibly well the past 10years? Is the recession the cause of government refusing to cut its cost or spending on flamboyancies and frivolities? Is recession the reason government is not improving power to boost manufacturing? What of insecurities, recession too?

Tinubu should first restructure Nigeria, decentralize governance and bring government closer to the people.

Get my point right, The current government in the past 10 years are all getting things wrong, nobody will dispute that, in fact, we should still blame the present government less because correction of errors has great negative impact, but what i am saying is the the government of Jonathan dug the graves that Nigerian fell into today. Jonathan should carry the heaviest blame if you understand what actual went wrong under Jonathan, you will hate him instead of praising him above other problem creator like Buhari that don't even have any vison.
I do not suscribe to conspiracy theories but work with facts.

The insecurity Nigerians decried under Jonathan went worse under Buhari with the crook even supporting an amnesty for Bokoharam sect, a spite on our feelings. He never cared how Nigerians felt anyway. Tinubu fares better in that light. Jonathan was by far the best here. Too calm, gentle; that we took his simplicity for granted.
