PoliticsRe: Aisha Yesufu’s Old Tweet Praising Tinubu Resurfaces On Twitter (pic) by mcquin(m): 2:29pm On Apr 30, 2023
Kapeter:
Aisha Yesufu self know say Tinubu patiently paid his dues. He built AC to first a formidable opposition and now to the ruling party. That's hard work right there. Since you self know say the rate at which this man was building this thing "One day" he will end up having the power through his hard work why you and midget rinu and other clout chaser come dey shout rigging up and down. Tinubu tried not once, not twice to produce a president from his party and failed woefully but never gave up, he didn't even throw himself at the position first, he let the new alliance grand patron go at it first and there it is, his hard work paid off. But that one go stop una from claiming stolen manhood up and down with una rented Beggar Jef gutterboy abi wetin him call himself.

Everyone needs to accept the fact that Asiwaju hard work is the only reason why he is where he is today. I for one as a conservative Yoruba from Ondo state never dey like him before but las las Bola nor offend anybody, e nor be crime to aspire, dream and work towards it. That's exactly what Asiwaju has done. I'm happy that his dream come true, he nor labour in vain. Make me self nor labour in vain for my life. Amin
Personally I have nothing against Tinubu. I even think he will perform credibly well. However, the process he used in gaining entry is too flawed, thus his legitimacy is in question. This remains a democracy and if people choose a goat rather than Whole Soyinka, allow the people their will. He forced himself on Nigerians as many were clearly angry with APC because of their failure. I am however trusting Tinubu to justify the end so Nigerians forget the means.

Try wise they have been conducting elections with fraudulent outcomes for a long time 😂🤣 because they dashed your hopes at the polls because you were really emotionally involved invested this time y’all are trying to console yourself with a useless song
Remind me again the man that came of with CHANGE mantra and look up the meaning of "change" before returning to tell me about how past elections have been.

At any rate, many will agree the 2015 election was a near perfect election, one that saw a incumbent government removed from power, an electoral success much unprecedented. No wonder Good luck Jonathan continues to be acknowledged the world over as a democracy hero. Can same be said of Mr. Change and your boss, the INEC Chairman?

Again, before you quote me on past elections, don't tell me poor election is a legacy you intend bequeathing to your children.

lol he doesn’t care he has done his bid and pocketed his money if you Nigerians like sing and insult him from now till eternity he’s rich and he has no concerns about anything that will happen to Nigeria as a whole he’s set himself and his family for life . Falz is just capitalizing on the gullible youth to remain relevant and cash out as well . Will he give people who suffered injuries from electoral violence money From the streams he’s getting? The answer is Nope try wise
So you now agree Mr. Yakubu pocketed money selling Nigeria's democracy to "...set himself and his family for life?" Well the good thing is Falz is making some of you come to that point of admitting electoral fraud.

On what he aims to achieve with his activism, you may as well ask what Fela aimed to achieve. Good people must speak to power and go down their grave with a satisfied conscience. I think that is what some of you must learn.

A coward dies a thousand times before his death. Give Falz his flowers.

Obi will not be in court if the election was transparent. You see the angst is as a result of the flawed process. Nobody should come at me with the bullcrap that there are no free elections anywhere because that is a lie, and assuming it is true, Nigeria will not cease being a country if it becomes the first to conduct transparent polls.

emmyN:
It is in the news that FG made over 11 billion naira in February alone as a result of this policy. With less currency in circulation, the FG could also save up on printing and maintaining excess notes.
Wrong. Didn't want to quote you but we need to properly inform members of the public.

First, the policy caused artificial inflation. A trader who buys the naira inorder to restock will simply push the burden to the buyer by raising price of commodity.

The economy itself shrinked because some businesses could not cope, resulting in loss of jobs. In my office for example, we are major importers of frozen food (fishes). Retailers who purchase from us could not sell off their stock for nearly a month because people had no cash to make purchase and because they couldn't sell, they had no use returning to us to restock. That led to us having very poor sales in January.

This government has a knack for pushing out unsustainable policies leading to policy summersault. How do you invest in an economy that is not predictable?

Gradually Nigeria was going cashless. 6 years ago, POS was not a thing but today many people execute transactions using POS. Government should have allowed us evolve gradually and in no time more Nigerians will go cashless. Instead people ended up losing their lives, businesses, only for us to return to square 0.

PoliticsWhy PDP May Be The Biggest Loser by mcquin(op): 7:00am On Feb 28, 2023
PDP if it loses out on the presidency may just be the biggest loser. This is because it would have lost a number of seats at the National Assembly and may even lose seats at the States' seat of power.

A united PDP would have gained from the people's disaffection towards A PC's poor leadership the last 8 years. However, the party's arrogance and total disregard for power rotating to the South after 8years in the North may just have become it's Archilles Heel.

Politics2023: The Labour Party Effect On Nigeria's Political Landscape. by mcquin(op): 8:02am On Nov 19, 2022
Whether a BATian, an ATIKUlated or OBIdient, I think we must all reckon that Labour Party becoming a third force in our election is something that will change our political climate in a while regardless whether the party gets the Abuja seat or not.

Across the country elections will be held both at state levels and at the federal level. With the entrant of Labour Party, Nigeria which over the years has significantly unofficially been a 2 party state now enjoys the privilege of having a third option. If the Labour party gets significant numbers at the National Assembly and across states, with PDP complimenting as a worthy opposition too, then it should be bye bye to a Rubber-stamp legislature.

What are your thoughts?

You haven't answered the questions.

Can you pls tell us the process Tinubu used to pick his god sons and how that fits into democracy.

How did tinubu groom those who succeeded him?

Is Tinubu a democrat?

How much of what Lagos is today is Tinubu responsible for?
Yes Tinubu is a democrat. Was amongst the few others that fought for the democracy you enjoy today, confronting military government, pursuing the SW political agenda under the AD which metamorphosed into the APC while some others jumped from APGA to PDP and then Labour. A believer of true federalism, he insisted on further decentralizing state power resulting in his disagreement with the Obasanjo led central government. Need I go on?

Tinubu groomed successors by giving them a platform to grow in government while providing them guidance. Fashola, Osibanjo were appointed unto Tinubu's cabinet, that platform saw them rise into national politics for this they've consistently credited Tinubu as their leader, or should they rather owe their growth in politics to Obi?

I already mentioned Tinubu's godsons were appointed into his cabinet, I don't see how that is in variance with democratic tenets.

The debate has never been about how democratic the process is that brought up as political god-sons the likes of Fashola, Ambode and Osibanjo. The question is did these persons impact Lagos? If yes, give Tinubu credit for his ability to get best hands involved.

On how Tinubu groomed them, I hope you know that these persons on different forums have acknowledged Tinubu as their leader.
PoliticsRe: Why Lagos Should Be Credited For Its Stability And Developmental Drive by mcquin(m): 11:04pm On Sep 21, 2022
One minute they say Lagos is what it is because it is a former capital territory forgetting other Calabar, Kogi once were, forgetting if security wasn't managed in the state and the state turned out a Borno or as some crisis ridden states investors will take flight. Next minute they credit Fashola, Ambode and Sanwolu, following which they decry Tinubu is Lagos' godfather i.e invariable Tinubu picked the best god-sons and gave them guidance. If you ask me the ability to groom refined gentlemen to carry on the mantle demands commendation.

Right way to deal with double standard. If a Muslim can wear hijab to school in a secular state, hijab to a "call to bar," then traditionalist should be allowed such absurdity too.

Criticisms from northern folks that I see on facebok is indicative of our difference in reasoning. It's simple "To your tent o Israel" will cure this problem.

well, maybe your brain does have comprehension issues. Jail in this context is when police arrest you before going to court, you get locked up first for some time pending court appearance. It is as well called detention if you like.

Jail, Detention, Confinement, Prison, Custody etc are all the same meaning by general definition. In as much as you are locked up by police without trial you are in jail.

I quoted you without resorting to insult, that is the least I had expected from you. You were wrong and instead of admitting it, you still pride yourself in ignorance. I took your words literally, you used the word "jail" not "detention." For your information, they do not mean the same thing and you are speaking to a lawyer.

That said you are still wrong because the police cannot keep a person in detention for more than 48 hours without charging the person to court. So he cannot just be cooling off in jail detention. Quote me when you have confirmed this position with a lawyer.

I have just said that is untrue. He cannot be arrested days ago and be cooling off in jail. When was trial conducted and concluded that a person arrested days ago will be cooling off in jail. Even the Magistrate Court being a court of summary trial will still not conclude a matter within 6months like that save in rare cases where the accused pleads guilty.

I even read the constitution yesterday that hate speech attracts death penalty.
1st you are wrong. There is no where in the 1999 Constitution as amended that "hate speech" as you choose to call it is penalized. Rather there is a freedom of speech and it is on that premise gagging of the media in the name of "hate speech" has been frowned at.

That said, the prophet is so much rever is unfortunately down South not given that recognition and so may be insulted with no consequence down here. It is in furtherance of this narrative many have called for dismemberment of the country since we are very different people. You honor Mohammed you don't. We believe Christ is God's son, you don't.

Considering Akpabio's giant strides in Akwa-Ibom infrastructure wise, Akpabio would have made a fine president as he is in the mould of a Donald Duke we never got. However, Akpabio missed it when he decamped to an APC that generally improvished Nigerians set an all time bad governance record.
Being a strong man while in PDP, Akpabio could easily had gotten the PDP ticket because Akwa-Ibom was a reference point by PDP when they talked good governance as Lagos under Fashola was for the APC.
It is just sad that Akpabio missed his and as Amaechi missed his way at home and cannot get the love and respect the likes of Donald Duke, Chief James Onanefe Ibori and Tinubu have.

I believe it's better if the country is dismantled.

Because the Northern Muslims and Southern Christians have a completely different outlook to life...

They are chasing complete opposite things... (I heard) as a Christian just believe in Jesus and you'll make it to heaven, you don't have to do anything. you don't need to go to Church everyday, just believe it Jesus.

But as a Muslim, you will have to take your religion seriously, above anything in this life. You will have to earn heaven by your good deeds in this world.

I totally believe the country should be divided.
Good one sir. Then we agree on something. Next question is why does it appears those on your end of the divide don't want that. The last I check IPOB, Igboho on this end have been vocal about the need for a South seperate from North. The North on the other hand using State organs as the police and army, have fought too hard to keep the union.
