...the fear of those big big grammar is the beginning of wisdom for me. Since my Secondary School English teacher wrote, "Advice to Withdraw", on my report sheet, it's been hide-and-seek for me with anybody using big big grammar. That's why Wole Soyinka, Shakespeare will never be my fan; so also @Prof. I go for S.M.O Aka, Ngugi Wationggo, Nzekwu and the likes with "short" and simple grammar cheesy grin grin grin grin grin
lol. grin grin grin

I'm sure it's those big big grammars you are avoiding but I know your negotiation skills is incomparable, by the time you bring out your charts and candles, Prof will soft-pedal. grin

...a quick math:
On the DIAMOND side of the curve; Today's closure price- N1.04. ...hence MoS gap from proposed merger price = 3.13-1.04 = N2.09.
Hence allotment figure = Price consideration discounting for cash = 3.13-1 = N2.13.

On the ACCESS side of the curve; (N9.40 to be precise) Note that 'best price' in this instance refers to what I believe an equity stake of ACCESS should come to as an equivalent to DIAMOND and not necessarily the fair value of ACCESS.

Conclusion: ...and so UNLESS THERE IS MORE TO THIS MERGER THAN WE ALREADY KNOW, the shareholders of DIAMOND has got themselves a better deal ahead of ACCESS.. .
Thanks for this analysis. For diamond, think it was 87k being considered not 1.04, invariably the price is slightly higher than N2.09
However, the bolded seems to be the real bone of contention, there's more to it than meets the eye.
In all, they should allow retail investors to eat small, we the jijoist are on the queue too. smiley
From the bank's staff perspective, it is not looking good at all. Jobs are on the line here. sad

The movie is interesting. It's after the news came out that he started making mouth, so also that 735, wouldn't be surprised if it's same person. grin
Had the news not been favourable, you wouldnt hear a word from them. grin
At least, we were able to reach a level of certainty with the news, anyone that wants to go in would know what he's buying.
By the time it rallies for few days, it will become surplus. Na win win e go be las las for those in the bus and those that will buy thereafter.

Should people not talk again when news and reports were in the negative? If we can talk about positive news, we can also discuss negative, doesnt mean anyone is wishing someone bad. If any other news comes out tomorrow, we go still discuss am. grin

which Access side again? though not approved yet by the shareholders of both company but for Access to agree with this, they must have seen worth of diamond to be greater than what we layman seeing. grin

On diemond, while waiting to hear from Access' side too, I tried to check the price should diamond's story be true:

It will be 2.29k (7units) to equate 2units of Access (using 8Naira).....if I'm right. shocked
The question is, can it get to that price? I seriously doubt this, when Fidelity is struggling with 1.90, Fcmb 1.60.
Can someone just look at it objectively too.

Caveat: This is not about anyone whatsoever; not an encouragement, neither is it about giving hope nor discouraging anyone. It is viewed strictly as stock on NSE. I no fit shout. grin

Unity bank is one of the most leveraged banks/companies on NSE. Their total liabilities are greater than their assets! Lol! I don't even want to think of their Equity to asset ratio, but then again, I have always warned that people should be defensive when buying stocks. How can you buy a stock that when you subtract the liability apart from customer deposits from Total assets, what you have left is almost nothing, or nothing or even a negative. Meaning the shareholders have nothing, if a liquidation should happen you will get nothing! If another bank should take over you will still get nothing! Using Price to book value alone to evaluate a stock is very dangerous. Some of you have forgotten that it is bonds first and other debt obligations, then preferred shares before common shares. You should always consider this when buying a stock. Liquidation value is where it's at. Goodluck!
This is an eye opener on Unity!
I hope someone in this bus will read this and wouldnt come and be displaying emotions here when its drama starts too. lipsrsealed

in my opinion, some of our member that talk good about diamond with on going rumor owns diamond bank and they post to secure their investment.
my own advise is pple that owns the stock should use this golden opportunity to jaaaa. if the news is confirm 100m bid may turn to 400m offer within minutes. grin grin grin
Opportunity is staring some in the face they refused to grab it now.
Even if it's not true, NSE is not going anywhere, one can still buy after everything is sorted and there is clear direction.
Don't be surprised that 735i sold already. grin

Access bank is leveraged themselves already. Anyone thinking they can't come crashing down doesn't know anything. They are not too big to fail. If it was Gt bank or stanbic or Zenith bank doing this, it would not still have been okay to me. But oh well! We shall see.
Was Skye not acquiring other banks as well before all became obituaries?
Not all those banks were healthy as people thinks. Who would have thought diamond would go before the likes of Unity and Wema self?
