You are actually depressed. But I'm surprised given that you don't have traumatic stress experience.

How you are feeling is a function of your temperament. My guess is that you could be a CHRONIC MELANCHOLY. You will be surprised how temperament affect our lives.

bros just change your thoughts...take out time and listen or observe the thoughts in your head you will discover that they are depressing thoughts and its the cause of your sadness, hence change your thought pattern or better yet concentrate on things that make you happy....just put your mind on things that are of good report says the bible

I thought sad memories and past disapointments or maladies are the root causes of depression, not to sound boastful; I have had a fairly good life while growing up and till date. Thanks anyways

Please don't take this as an insult but you haven't tried a psychiatrist. The problem is that we take things like this in Africa like an abomination and not my portion kind of thing. I think it's depression but you need to see a psychiatrist.

Psychiatrist? I don't remember sayin am retarded or insane. Its just an emotional thing and to the best of my knowledge, psychiatrists hav no say in this.

A friend confided in me thus;

I have always had this problem right from my secondary school days,and I thought as I grow older I'd get over it, but alas! It was not to be.

The issue is, I have a very loving and caring family, a dream job, faithful friends and a girl friend that can even catch a grenade for me, but the truth the truth is, (I have never told them anyways) I feel empty, sad and lonely even amidst them.

I have tried been engrossed with my favourite hobbies (football and scrable) but afterwards emptiness and sadness envelop me.

I've sort spiritual councelling sessions, but all to no avail but the truth is I have never given suicide a thought, coz this planet is the only beautiful place I know.

Pls psychologists in the house what could be the solution.
Pls help a sad souled brother.
