loladeji:
It is because the people do not know what happened. I have been seeing accounts saying that the military was sent to stop the Shiites’ protest or procession. That is a confusing narrative. The military has never been sent to stop the Shiites from doing anything. Never in the history of Nigeria has the military been sent to stop the Shiites during their protests or whatever. It is not true. And that is where we are getting it wrong.

The military men were carrying out their duties and the Shiites took them on. You must understand that. We have had three clashes now and the three clashes happened because the Shiites attacked the military personnel in the course of their duties. Now the question is: why should the Shiites take on the military?

When you hear that a particular group takes on the military and security agencies of the state, you begin to wonder why. The reason why they are doing that is because they don’t believe in the authority of the state.

Many people will disagree with that as there is no proof that they took on the military.

How did they take on the military? Of course, you know the beginning of this issue. It started in December 2015 when the Chief of Army Staff (Lt. -Gen. Tukur Buratai) was passing through Zaria, Kaduna State. The Chief of Army Staff was with his entourage. He was in a convoy and he was going for an important national assignment. His entourage met the Shiites on the road during their procession and they refused to let his vehicles pass. And there were thousands of them.

Politics › Re: Peter Obi, Ghost Of The Past And Reality Of Today by meccuno: 7:31am On Nov 10, 2018
[s]
globemoney:
Never live in today like tomorrow won’t come, while he reigned supreme as the lord of the manor, he exhibited certain needless manifestations that were antithetical to common sense. In a swift moment of needless impulse, he bundled some northerners, mostly those who engaged in menial jobs for survival and marched them in trailer load back to their base. To him, these guys had no business being in Anambra State. Those who were allowed to stay behind were marked with identity ropes dangling on their necks. This same lethargic indecision was extended to neighboring southeastern states when he sacked civil servants who aren’t indigenes of Anambra State. They were tragic decisions that left a sore reference in the idea of one Nigeria. Nothing breaks the fiber of a society like the flagrant display of divisiveness.

Mr Peter Obi is dangerously being haunted by the hubris of his self-inflicted past, like a book every chapter is open to unbury gaffes, lies and double-faced personality. In one of his outings on the popular talk show platform, he regaled the audience on his prudent and austere lifestyle, so excited was he that he announced to the boisterous crowd of having just a wristwatch! He was cheered to high heavens as that leader that isn’t defined by the ostentatious bait of life. In the same vein, the soft-spoken former governor of Anambra announced his penchant for traveling on economic class, not staying in expensive hotels and bragging of owning just a house. These were however punctured as a house in the United Kingdom was traced to him with pictures of him adorning different shades of wristwatches.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) running mate to Alhaji Atiku in the forthcoming presidential elections was also recently busted with the echoes of his past stance when he vehemently referred to Muhammadu Buhari as being too old to be president in 2015. According to him, a 72-year-old man has no business. Unfortunately, Mr Obi is today standing in supportive tissue with Atiku who is 72 years old! Talk about consistent inconsistency. Tracing the many inconsistencies of Peter Obi was the reported embarrassing situation where the convoy of the former governor was sighted and caught in front of Next International Offices in Apapa, Lagos, carrying a whopping sum of N250 million in raw cash. Public calculations were made and plausible questions were put forth on why a ‘financially disciplined’ former banker would have to move a quarter of a billion naira in this era of seamless electronic cash transfer?

Is Mr Peter Obi living a two-faced life where what he preaches is in variance with who he is? Did the man overrate himself in sanctimonious garb to hoodwink the people when in measurable sense there are frightening contradictions in his personality? Should we allow Obi’s sheer boost of falsehood in the face of glaring truth? In every element of the future, there is an iota of the past. Those who look up to the future must have their past in tandem to the reality of today. It would be unfair to allow the inconsistencies in the beautiful profile of Peter Obi to sail on when he can address them now that he seeks the mandate of the people. Leadership founded on deceit is a catalyst to a dysfunctional society. We are where we are because of where we are coming from and where we are today determines where we will be tomorrow.

Whoever must lead us must carry the ware of integrity in character and deeds; never again shall we go back to the era where lies and deceits were the ingredients of existence. Great nations are made when the people are governed by people defined by the true spirit of honesty, moral compass, and by leaders whose patriotism overwhelm their personal interests devoid of primordial sentiments. This is the time to scrutinise the characters of our leaders beyond what they throw at us. For Mr Peter Obi, he alone can bury the ghosts of the past by coming out clean in his true character.

Unfortunately, you will not see it as you did not see any of such from other presidents past, nor will you see for the future. Or have you seen Atiku's own or Oby Ezekwesili's?

This is simply because you are not the authority to which it will be tendered.

That authority is INEC. The same INEC under a PDP regime that have said that they do not have any issues with Buhari's qualification.

A similar dolt like you, Donald Trump embraced the "Birther" conspiracy theory that Obama wasn't born in America. Even though a Republican president Bush was in power and could easily expose Obama if it was true, but the hatred of those who wanted to believe only what they wanted, would not allow logic to prevail.

Obama considered it an insult that he had to show his birth certificate simply because he did not look like the typical American. He rightly refused to show it while campaigning and won the elections. Some years later, he publicly displayed the very document that the "Birthers" wanted, but did it make them back down?

No! They simply shifted goal post and continued wailing themselves into insignificance.

Now Trump knowing he could become President since he was now a major candidate and would be able to prove as a powerful president how Obama lied about being born in the USA, quickly distanced himself from his previous notorious position on the matter.

Read the first 2 paragraphs of this zombied fellow and you would wail about the comatose educational standards of Nigeria that has compelled many Nigerians abroad to enroll for university courses in the higher standard society they found themselves. Many of them fail simple comprehension exercises in a bid to secure English language certifications, that you would have otherwise thought was an insult on us by the foreign English speaking countries that require it.

People like him will never be pleased on this particular matter, so they continue aimlessly to dribble themselves while no one is obstructing their forward progress, till they dribble into a goal kick with an added dislocated ankle.

Now that the ball is at my foot, let me launch my offensive, while he lays invalid waiting for the stretcher.

Point 1
More than a few military personnel have already buttressed the claim that the military indeed hold on to the original certificates. The military have never disclaimed this policy, and have only said they cannot find Buhari's certificate, and not that they did not or do not collect certificates.

Point 2
The loss of copies of same and other certificates after his arrest upon his overthrow from military power, necessitated the affidavit where he factually stated that the originals of what has been lost are actually with the military. A fact nobody cared to disprove prior to 2015 when his victory was fait accompli.

Point 3
The presidency claiming to have the necessary records, only owe it to the relevant authorities. This same authority that is INEC, have always maintained that they do not have any issues with Buhari's qualifications or suitability for the prime office. That such records might have been newly re-obtained after the military could not provide the original copy in its care, does not invalidate the affidavit earlier sworn when the military never claimed not to have it in its possession.

That Buhari sat for his O'levels and passed the courses that would merit a certificate, has already been long proven by the Cambridge result master sheet, which corroborated the school's statement of result that was newly reissued to the President in 2014. But imbeciles kept on harping on foolish issues like why the passport picture was an old Buhari, as though they did not know it was a new issuance that should bear a current picture submitted for that purpose. By their own logic, if at the age of 70yrs they need a document from their childhood that requires a picture to be reissued, a childhood picture saved for many decades ought to be used.

These same grades scored by Buhari for the specific subjects sat for, were the same statistics the military under the Jonathan administration had released as the scores that were available in their military records for Buhari, even though they could not locate the certificate.

When some further claimed that Hausa language was not offered in that year, some queried the Cambridge authorities who replied and confirmed that Hausa language was indeed on offer for that exam year, and that only the candidate can re-apply for a replacement. certificate if one was required.

Some decided to show extreme stupidity and claimed that the blank marks on the school's statement of result that showed all the many available subjects, were indication that Buhari had a 1 (A1) in all those subjects, and could not have offered that many subjects, betraying their own stupidity and inability to deduce the very obvious argument that was even theirs.

Some decided that being a dunce was better, and began questioning that Katsina State did not exist in the early 1960's, as though a school's letter head for a recently obtained document, should bear a 1960's address. Some even said Katsina did not exist in the 1960's, since the state was a later creation. They suddenly forgot that Kano, Kaduna, Enugu and many states did exist as cities long before independence, regardless of their later creation as states with the same name.

Some tried to be stupidly smart, and claimed that there was NECO option also written on the result template, but NECO only came to life in year 2000/2001. Still they foolishly expected that a school's result template for which scores are entered from a master sheet and printed for the students, should not have NECO option for those whose NECO grades will be printed on that same template, even though the result statement was issued recently and signed and dated as such.

The parambulating dolt knows all these, but is only deliberately acting stupid to further a propaganda that his type do not intend to foreclose on anytime soon.

It is amusing that Peter Obi could poke a fun at VP Osinbajo for trying to learn some dance steps for whatever reasons.

When it comes to dancing, the PDP danced to the extent that they forgot the difference between that and what took them there. They literally danced Nigeria aground.

It could be recalled GEJ (the headmaster of the PDP dancers) was dancing away in Kano barely 24 hours after 100 people were bombed in Nyanya and on the day 200 girls were abducted by BH, just to welcome Shekarau's defection to the PDP. This dance made me to remember one Nigerian musician who sang that, "This ikebe wey you dey see go put you for wahala." And it does, cos for GEJ, that was the beginning of the end.

Your own problem is comprehending what a statement of result recently obtained, should look like.

To address an issue, someone got his alma mater to release his statement of result, but you expect it to bear a picture from decades ago, and not the current picture submitted to the school for its issuance?

Are you sure you are mentally alright?

Same way some imbeciles could not understand that the other many subjects not sat for, were the ones with a stroke to indicate blank, an not the misconstrued A1.

And the Cambridge result master sheet that shows his scores and those of other candidates who all attended the same school, is still not enough proof? Even when those results do not differ from what the Army already released as his scores though unable to trace the actual certificate?

And those who claimed that certain subjects on the result statement were not offered at that time, were they not proved wrong by the correspondence from Cambridge that belied their fictitious claims?

INEC even under many PDP regimes have already claimed that they do not have any issues with Buhari's result or his academic suitability as required by law, yet some still say they want to see a certificate that has been long surpassed and for which the President do not owe them any attention?

MalcoImX:
The former Chief of staff, Lt. General Ipoola Alani Akinrinade, Sunday, slammed those criticizing President Muhammadu Buhari over his statement that his West African School Certificate Examination certificate, WACE, was with the Nigerian Army.

Major General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), In a statement disclosed by Mr President’s special adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the former Chief of Defence Staff insisted that Buhari has a certificate.

Angered at the spate at which Nigerians lambast Buhari over his certificate, Akinrinade blamed the Nigeria’s recording system. His words, “How many years ago?… 50 years. And Nigeria with our (poor) record keeping and filing things into an archive. If we have an archive at all; an archive inhabited by rats and cockroaches. I think it’s an insult”.

However, clearing the air he said that the certificate saga was an insult to the Nigerian Army, noting that the time Buhari joined the Armed forces ‘there were no cutting corners’.

Read the full statement below:

“… The most annoying one is the case about (Muhammadu) Buhari not having a Certificate. It is an insult to the Armed Forces, a terrible insult to the Armed Forces.

If they are so embedded in the system and they have lost their souls, then they can go ahead and join everybody else in castigating a General of Buhari’s calibre.

They are now talking about a School Certificate. By the time he joined the Army in those days, there were no cutting corners. It is later when these same Civilians took over from the Army that admission into it became
less transparent.

I can give you an instance. There was Course Five around 1964: if one did not have a School Certificate, one couldn’t apply to join the Army.

And I know up to 1963 when the last General Officer Commanding left Nigeria, there were no corners to be cut. There was no such thing. Everything was on merit.

And that was how it was till Buhari’s time. Buhari attended the Mons (Officer Cadet School in Aldershot in England) and the Staff College. I don’t want to think they have an idea what they teach in those places. And the rest of us pretend as if we don’t know what they do there.

You send a man to America for one and a half years in a Military School. Do they think he just went there to learn how to fire a rifle? No.

As I speak to you, I don’t know where my original Certificate is because we gave the original to the Military Board. They took it from us when we applied to join the Army. You give the original copy of credentials to the Board. They take it and keep it in your file, that’s what happened.

How many years ago?… 50 years. And Nigeria with our (poor) record keeping and filing things into an archive. If we have an archive at all; an archive inhabited by rats and cockroaches. I think it’s an insult. I take it as a personal insult”
