For the sake of fairness, whoever sets the questions should let those that are to write the answers know the scope or area of concentration. Something like scheme of work for students in a term or semester.

They are governed by civil service rules, I didn't say lecturers write exams to be promoted, at that level of VC, anything can happen, if anyone says he can't write the exam, he or she can opt out, just like the Professor withdrew from the race, it's not a must to be a VC.

Personally with my over 10years of experience in my energy industry. I cant subject myself to any exam or aptitude test if I should change job. Rather, I go for oral interviews or strictly on-the-job assessment where experience is the criteria. I did all the exams and aptitude tests back then as a fresh graduate with no experience, and passed them all back then. Now I'm an authority in my own right and should be assessed based on capacity, ability, management, and experience. I have paid my dues.

Na eye service and lack of self worth dey worry all the naughty Professors that allowed themselves to be ridiculed by the system. Imagine asking Falana to come write exam 1st. What an insult!!!!!!

It's an option of choice, so it's not compulsory for anyone to write the exam, if one does not want to be VC, then he or she can withdraw.

The exam could be based on management of a University. The Vice Chancellor is a manager of resources being allocated to the institution. If you lack management skill, you can't be a successful Vice Chancellor

The Professors who even wrote the exam don't know their worth @ all.
I doubt if they know what they Profess in the first place.

Exam is not a crime, every vacancy in the civil service must be filled with exam or interview, but in this case they are using both

A professor must present inaugural lectures, it's like a way of making them to be up to date with new inventions, some don't present because they feel they have arrived.

Stop defending trash pls, the examiner will not ask them their core fields of studies but universal questions cum management/administrative skills.

Under normal circumstance, a lecturer, even if he/she is a "graduate assistant" is supposed to know and aware of new developments in schools, societies and world in generally, one of expectations from their employers is to do research and conversant with happenings in the society.

Sure, he should be good in communicative and adminstrative skills, plus current affairs and Public service rules, he should also be conversant with the knowledge of computer.

Same way the prof doesn't know how to calculate in election, but to make money and will still fail student that even try his/her best. The only time profs in Nigeria pass exams, is INEC election results after making more money.
