Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has gifted an apartment to the family of Waris Olamilekan, the talented hyper-realist student artist, who painted President Macron of France at the African Shrine in less than two hours.



President Macron visited Nigeria in July 2018 and one of his spotovers was the African shrine. There, Olamilekun displayed his amazing talent by drawing the French president in less than 2 hours.



To reward him for his amazing talent, Governor Ambode recently gifted the Olamilekuns a tastefully furnished apartment.

The India Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has nabbed a Nigerian national at the Kolkata airport after he was found in possession of cocaine worth Rs 1 crore weighing around 170 gram.

According to Narcotics Control Bureau Kolkata Zonal Director, Dilip Kumar Srivasitava, the Nigerian suspect identified as Kevin Uzor James, arrived the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata from Mumbai on Thursday afternoon.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, is conspicuously absent as the Code of Conduct Tribunal CCT, commenced proceedings into the charges filed before him before the tribunal by the Federal government.



The Chairman of the Tribunal, Umar Danladi and the two other presiding judges of the tribunal, are already seated.



The lead counsel in Onnoghen's defence team, Wole Olanipekun, has informed the CCT that it does not have jurisdiction to hear the case. He argued that the procedure for service was not adhered to based on the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, ACJA. Says Onnoghen was not personally served and he ought to be served.

The case is still being heard at the moment.



Onnoghen is being accused of failing to declare his assets after assuming office in March 2017. Yesterday, the South South governors forum instructed Onnoghen who is from Cross Rivers state, to shun the tribunal's invitation.

There are allegations that Onnoghen is being harrassed because he is from the South South region. Militants in the Niger Delta region have threatened to shut down the country if Onnoghen is removed from office.

47 SANs led by Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) with about 47 other lawyers are representing Onnoghen.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday said its official website, apc.com.ng, had been hacked with unauthorised content posted on its pages.


Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu, APC National Publicity Secretary, who disclosed this in a statement, said he had directed for the site to be taken down.

Our attention has just been drawn to the fact that the APC’s official website, apc.com.ng, has been hacked with unauthorised content posted on our pages.


“I have instructed that the site be taken down. Steps are underway to clean it up, strengthen the security and restore it as soon as possible.

“We won’t allow desperate people to succeed in their evil plots,” the APC spokesman said.

Senator Dino Melaye has continued to sleep on the floor at the DSS medical facility in Abuja. Melaye who was whisked to the DSS medical facility last night, says he will not enter the DSS medical facility until he is told why he was moved from the Police Hospital in Abuja.

He has changed his shirt from the one he wore yesterday when he was brought to the facility.



The bottles of groundnuts, his shoes and empty water bottles are the only items missing in this new photograph.

A Nigerian young Photographer, Aliki Oluwaseun won 'Arts and Creative Personality of 2018'.

Aliki who is just 8 years old featured on Reuters News, as she started her Photography career at the age of 5.

Reuters report that the young girl makes more than 5000 dollars a year from Photographic coverages in Lagos.

Aliki whose parents are Photographers too, helps her in editing the pictures.

She said:

When I grow up, I don't want to be an Engineer or Doctor, I just want to be a photographer. I won't like anyone stop me from what am doing.

A woman, Omowunmi Lameed, has dragged her husband, Mukaila Lameed, to court seeking that their ten-year-old marriage be dissolved.


Omowunmi had sought for divorce on the accounts of kidnap, rape, forceful marriage and threat to life by her husband.

The plaintiff appealed to the court, if her plea for divorce was granted, to further restrain the defendant from coming to her house or work place to harass or fight her.


She further sought for the custody of their only child.

She told the court: “My lord, my life is at stake. My husband is after my life and he will not rest until he sees my end.

“My husband is irrational in his reasoning and crude in his behaviour because he’s not learned or sophisticated. As a literate, I feel belittled being married to such an uncultured person.


“My lord, my husband forced me into marrying him.He’s a driver and member of the National Union of Road and Transport Workers (NURTW). He’s actually one their leaders.

“About ten years ago, he consistently made love advances at me which I constantly rebuffed because he was the last person I thought I could ever marry.

“He later sent his thugs to me. They kidnapped me one faithful evening and carried me to his house. He detained me and refused to release me or let me go.

“He forcefully had sex with me that night; he was actually the one who deflowered me.

“All attempts made by my parents to get me out of his house proved abortive because of his connections and the threat to their lives. He told them I’m married to him and that they could do nothing about it.

“I became a patent medicine seller and vowed not to have any child for him. I, therefore, took drugs to avert pregnancy any time he slept with me, but I later jettisoned this idea because as a woman time was gradually no more on my side

“My lord, my husband has made my life miserable despite his promise to shower me with love and attention.I told him I wanted to further my education but he refused because he felt threatened.

“He’s in the habit of monitoring my movements as a result of inferiority complex and always feels uncomfortable any time I’m chatting or discussing with other men. He will beat me to a pulp and sometimes lock me up at home.

“He once misbehaved and after being found guilty was put behind bars for a few years. I felt he would return home a sober man but he became rather worse.

“We had a quarrel of recent; he stopped me from going about my business and locked my shop. This has automatically brought a stress on my finance.

“He has threatened to kill me any time he sees me with the opposite sex.

“My lord, my life is at stake, I’m not safe. I pray this court to dissolve our union and grant me custody of our only child.

“My other plea is that the court restrains him from harassing or fighting me in my new apartment or shop, “she stated.

The defendant refused to make an appearance in court after being served a court summon and hearing.

Giving his judgment, the court president, Chief Odunade dissolved their union and awarded the plaintiff custody of their child.

The defendant was mandated to give the plaintiff N5, 000 monthly as their child’s feeding allowance. He was also ordered to be responsible for his education and health care.

The court further ordered both parties to keep peace always.

Family and friends of late businessman, Sagir Muhammad are demanding for justice as they await the recovery of his body.

Sagir AKA Zamani allegedly was shot dead by militants suspected to be Berom youths along Mangu-Jos Road, last week.

According to passengers in the ambushed vehicle, the militants allegedly asked for the Fulanis in the car to come out. As the driver was begging them for mercy, the militants sighted the golden tooth in Sagir's mouth, dragged him out, shot him dead and draged the corpse away. Sagir AKA Zamani is young promising individual who choose the path of legitimate hustling in other to earn a living, He chose not to be a tout, He chose not to be a thug, He chose to sell clothes as a source of income. He lost His Life in the hands of some blood thirsty militants along Mangu to Jos road near Bisichi in Barkin Ladi.
According to some survivors in the vehicle,all the passengers are coming back from Pankshin market were they go for there weekly business of selling wash and wear (Gwanjo) clothes. The militants whom they believed are Berom by tribe ask for the Fulanis in the car to come out. No body came out as the driver was begging them, they saw the golden tooth ( Hakorin Makka ) in Sagir's mouth and they said you Alhaji come out and He was dragged out and shot two times. They drag the corpse and take it away with them.
The family have contacted the police around the area and the military but no news of the whereabout of his corpse. And according to them many people were blocked on the road and killed by these militants because many cars were blocked on that day and no any sign of securities in the area to stop them.
Is it a crime for someone to be Fulani, a Muslim and to move freely around Riyom, Barkin ladi without being attacked , maime and killed??
As far as the corpse of General Alkali was found and buried I also seek for the immediate search of the body of Sagir ( Zamani ) and also the perpetrators Be brought to book.
I hereby call on all of us to take this as far as we can .....

The government of Gabon has declared that it was in control after an attempted coup by army rebels on Monday and that it had arrested most of those involved.

"Calm has returned, the situation is under control," government spokesman Guy-Bertrand Mapangou told AFP.

Only hours earlier, soldiers burst into the national radio station and called on the people to "rise up," an apparent bid to oust ailing President Ali Bongo, who is out of the country. Of the five who did this, according to Mapangou, "four have been arrested and one is on the run."

Meanwhile, the African Union chief Moussa Faki Mahamat "strongly condemned" the attempted coup by the rebel soldiers.

"The African Union strongly condemns the coup attempt this morning in Gabon. I reaffirm the AU's total rejection of all unconstitutional change of power," he wrote on Twitter.

PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubarka, has reacted to the arrest of Daily Trust journalists in Abuja by the Nigerian soldiers.

He said:

I have received with concern news of the sealing of Daily Trust corporate headquarters in Abuja. Freedom of the press is the bedrock of our democracy and nothing should be done to compromise it.

If Daily Trust as an institution or any of its staff is in breach of the law, I recommend that due process be followed and not a resort to the jackboot.
