During the APC rally in Ekiti State today, President Buhari made another error when he said he assumed office in 2005 instead of 2015.



Reacting to the error, the immediate past governor of the state and former aide, Reno Omokri. Blast Buhari for the mistake.

Ayo Fayose said,

'a man could not even remember when he assumed office. He said in Ekiti today that he assumed office in 2005. Yet, they still want him to continue as President. Must they ruin Nigeria just to promote their personal interests? Why can't they just allow this man to go home and rest?

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC , has filed a 10-count charge against a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Engr. Babachir Lawal and five others.


The charges were filed on Wednesday.

Others included; Hamidu David Lawal; Sulaiman Abubakar; Apeh John Monday; Rholavision Engineering Limited and Josmon Technologies Limited.


All the suspects are expected to face trial in the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, The Nation reports.

Part of the charges reads: “That you, Engr, Babachir David Lawal while being the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and a Director of Rholavision, Hamidu David Lawal being a director of Rholavision Engineering Limited, Sulaiman Abubakar being a staff of Rholavision Engineering Limited on or about the 7th of March 2016 at Abuja in the Abuja Judicial Division of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory did conspire to commit an offence to wit: fraudulent acquisition of property and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 26 (1) (c ) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000 and punishable under Section 12 of the same Act.”

A Facebook user has questioned why Tonto Dikeh is declaring support for Jussie Smollett after he suffered a homophobic attack, but didn't declare support for young men arrested in Nigeria on suspicion of being gay.



Walter Shakespearean Ude, who recently had a row with Bisi Alimi when the gay rights activist accused him of keeping silent while his gay site was being used to slander him, wrote on Facebook:

Tonto Dikeh is on Instagram sending love and light to Jussie Smollett. Saying no to homophobia. Declaring that nobody should be persecuted for who they love.

It is nice. I commend her.

I just wonder where her voice was when similar tragedies were occurring amongst her fellow Nigerians. When 57 boys were unjustly arrested. When the blogs turn homophobic attacks into sensational clickbait headlines.

It's nice o. That we're all rooting for Jussie Smollett is a beautiful act of humanity. But Jussie Smollett lives in a society with a system that will strive to get him justice.

What about the Jussie Smolletts in Nigeria? Where are the celebrity voices saying no to the injustices meted out on them?

President Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed that the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, created a serious problem for him when he pledged to construct a railway linking the South-East zone to the Northern part of Nigeria.


Buhari made the disclosure during the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign in Enugu, on Thursday.

He lamented that fulfilling the promise Amaechi made would be difficult.


Buhari, however, said he would try his best to convince the Federal Executive Council members to approve the project.

He said: “Amaechi has made you people a promise and I don’t know how to fulfil it. But I can see how I will fulfil it by getting the Federal Executive Council members to approve it.”

The president said the promise Amaechi made was not presented to the FEC, adding that it would have been proper to get approval from FEC before making it open.


Buhari also thanked the people of the zone for trooping out for his campaign, adding that they should always have faith in Nigeria as they did not have any other country.

He said: “We all must join hands to build a stronger country as we do not have any other country.”

The president reminded the people that his government was determined to fix infrastructure in the country, adding that “if we get the roads done, get the rail lines done, and get other infrastructure done, we will be making progress.”

Where are the Donations?

The centre for cyber crime investigation (CCCI), Noida, India has arrested a Nigerian, Daniel Emeka for allegedly duping a Greater Noida resident of Rs 22 lakh on the pretext of offering a job in the United States.

According to Times of India, the accused, who stays in Bengaluru had impersonated as an official of a US-based firm claiming to offer a job in the reputed company trapping his target in a web of money trail that took officers of the CCCI to at least eight bank accounts opened in Bengaluru and Mizoram.

The accused was arrested after the cyber cell took the help of Google to trace his mobile number which he had been using at the time of orchestrating the fraud.

The accused Emeka (35), who had been putting up in Bengaluru till now - was arrested from Bengaluru on Monday and brought to Noida on transit remand on Wednesday, January 23.

Emeka claims to work as a garment exporter who ships the clothes to Nigeria via cargo.

SP (crime) Ashok Singh told TOI that Raj Kumar, a resident of Greater Noida, had lodged a complaint in the Kasna police station about the fraud orchestrated between February and May 2018 for which an FIR was lodged on July 9, 2018.

An FIR has been lodged in the matter under IPC sections 406, 420, 467, 468, 471 and sections 66, 66 c and 66d of the IT Act.

However, the investigation was then transferred to the cyber cell after about four months and the latter started an investigation in November.

According to Raj Kumar’s complaint, Aujo had come in touch with Raj Kumar after accessing his email ID.

He then made internet calls and voice calls to Raj Kumar offering him a job at a reputed US-based brewing company.

“Emeka impersonated as an official of the company and offered him a job as a technical expert in the company. Through repeated calls, he gained the trust of the victim and then sought money in exchange of visa fee and for other documentation to complete the recruitment process,” CCCI inspector Satish Chand told TOI.

Raj Kumar apparently had to borrow money from his friends and also mortgage his property, he added, stating that he paid Rs 22 lakh to Aujo in four months.

However, after taking all the money from Raj Kumar, Emeka then started avoiding Raj and stopped all the contact. Raj lodged a complaint in July after he realised that he was duped.

According to CCCI officers, the money was transferred in at least 16 different accounts - eight in Bengaluru and eight in Mizoram.

“These accounts were opened in the names of different individuals - mostly Indians. Their names are being verified and they have apparently taken some percentage of money from Emeka. We are trying to verify the accounts,” Chand said.

CCCI officers said that when the investigation was shifted to the cell, they tried to track the gmail account from which transaction was made.

A formal request was sent to Google in November seeking the registered phone number with the gmail account being used by Emeka which the software giant provided in January.

“We then traced the mobile number and found that he was based in Bengaluru,” Chand said.

Emeka was arrested on Monday after which Noida police officers got a transit remand from a local court and brought him to Noida on Wednesday.

His passport has expired and it has been recovered by the Noida police from his possession including Rs 1000, two laptops and two mobile phones.

Simi's mum and her estranged husband got separated almost 20-years ago, in 1997 and since then she has been single until she found love again and got married to Feyisayo, last year.

A woman who had given up hope of ever having kids due to health problems has welcomed a set of triplets.

Beata Bienias, 36, had struggled for a decade to get pregnant all to no avail. She then tried to conceive via IVF and it worked. But, unknown to her, she had already conceived twins naturally in the same week. She ended up giving birth to triplets.

Beata Bienias had begun to give up hope of ever becoming a mother due to issues with her health including polycystic ovaries, brought on by weighing over 17 stone. But she managed to lose weight and finally fell pregnant with one baby through IVF.

Miraculously she had also conceived twins just days before her embryo transfer. She was not aware of this and neither were the doctors. It wasn't until she went for a scan after her IVF was successful that it was discovered that they were expecting, not one, but three babies.


The pregnancy has been described by one fertility expert as "almost impossible",

Beata and her husband Pawel, 40, are now parents to four-week-old Amelia and twins Matylda and Borys.

The mum was told by stunned doctors her non-identical twins were conceived naturally just a few days before her IVF embryo transfer on May 2 last year. Mirror reports.

Wiltshire said:



It was the biggest miracle. I never thought something this incredible could happen to me.

I spent many days thinking that maybe I was the person who would never have a baby.

I never, ever thought there would be three in there.

I still can't quite believe it when I look at the three of them. I'm so happy.



Fertility expert Emma Cannon, who has worked in the field for 25 years and founded the Emma Cannon Clinic in Chelsea, London, was stunned to hear of Beata's triplets.

She said:

In my 25 years as a fertility specialist, I have only come across one or two scenarios in which women have fallen pregnant whilst undergoing IVF treatment.

But this has happened before the embryo transfer takes place - and they then choose to proceed with the natural pregnancy, and do not proceed with the IVF cycle.

I have never encountered anyone who has conceived naturally before, or around the time of, embryo transfer, and then gone on to become pregnant via the IVF cycle as well.

But I also know that there is much we do not understand and miracles do happen. I wish Beata all the very best with her three little miracles.



Recalling the moment she found out she was having three babies, Beata said:



The sonographer turned to my husband and asked if he wanted to sit down.
