A 26-year-old Nigerian man, Kumbha Roderick, who was serving a jail term in an Indian prison has died.

According to Times of India, Kumbha died during treatment at the district hospital on Wednesday July 3rd.

According to Indian police, Kumbha was arrested on September 30th 2018 by Mathura police for overstaying in a foreign country, forgery of valuable security, Forgery for purpose of cheating.

Mathura jail superintendent, Shailendra Maitrey, who confirmed the death of the Nigerian, said Kumbha was admitted to the jail’s hospital on Tuesday July 2nd after he complained of uneasiness. He added that the prisoner’s condition started deteriorating after he vomited and was rushed to the district hospital where he died during treatment.

Dolapo, wife of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, has revealed that she once worked in the slums in Lagos among area boys and prostitutes.

She spoke at the Anti-Substance-Abuse Programme organised by MTN in Abuja recently.

At the event also attended by Zainab, wife of Kebbi State Governor Atiku Bagudu, a stage play titled ‘Area Boy’, designed to caution the public against the dangers of drug abuse, thrilled the audience.

On why she took interest in the stage play, Dolapo Osinbajo said, “I wanted to watch the drama to relive the memory of the times that I spent working in the slums of Lagos among area boys, prostitutes, people who had been rejected and those who seemed lost already. As the drama went on, I could identify some people that I knew so many years ago.”

The Economic And Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Port Harcourt's Zonal Office has commenced investigations of seven suspected oil thieves and two Barges alleged to be involved in illegal oil bunkering.

The suspects: Goerge John; Friday Kesiye; Longlife Adam Nanadighe; Ofuegbe Lukcy; Clement Abogha, Lawrence Brownson Kinanec and Kenneth Monday and the Barges: Barge KOME XVIII (propelled by Tug LADY VIRTUE) and Barge NICHOLAS MARINE (propelled by MV AYE) were arrested by the patrol team of Nigerian Navy, Forward Operating Base, FORMOSO, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State on May 18, 2019 and handed over to the EFCC, Port Harcourt's Zonal Office on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.

According to the Naval Handing Over Officer, Captain Suleiman Dantosho Ibrahim, the two Barges were each conveying 500 metric tons of products suspected to be illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), without necessary authorization. Four of the suspects were on board Barge KOME XVIII and the other three suspects were on board Barge NICHOLAS MARINE when they were arrested.

Friends and family have taken to Facebook to mourn the tragic death of of a man identified as Uwaoma Ifeanyi from Orlu, Imo State.

It was gathered that the father of two was allegedly kidnapped and brutally killed by unknown gunmen on Sunday, June 23. His body was riddled with gunshots wounds.

According to his friend, Chris Barry, late Ifeanyi left his house in Istanbul at 2:30 am on June 22, to catch a flight to Nigeria where he was killed hours later.

Chris wrote:

"Brother you left my house around 2:30 Am in Istanbul because you have a flight to Nigeria by noon, we drank and ate not knowing it was our last dinner, your killers will never know Peace"

Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala on Wednesday was voted the Player of the Match award after putting up a brilliant display for the Super Falcons in their 2-0 victory against Korea Republic at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup.

It was Oshoala’s first goal of the tournament but her second for the senior team in the World Cup.

The Super Falcons now have three points after today’s victory and face France in their last group match next Monday. A win against the host side will see the Africa champions progress to the round of 16.

The sleuths of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) busted a racket involved in smuggling amphetamine drugs out of India through the filters of water purifiers.

The agency seized 15 kg of the banned substance worth Rs 3 crore and arrested a Nigerian national and a driver attached to a ride-hailing firm who helped in the transporation of the drugs.

Those arrested have been identified as Ugochi Chikelu, 35, currently residing at Kharghar in Navi Mumbai, and Shiva Kumar Sharma, 38, a resident of Diva in Thane.
