PoliticsDele Momodu Asked Why Amaechi Was Absent At The Commissioning Of Abuja Terminal by mediaNGR(op): 8:39pm On Dec 20, 2018
OvationInternation Magazine publisher Dele Momodu, asked Nigerians why the Nigeria Minister for Road and Transportation, Rotimi Amechi, was visibly absent from the commissioning of Port Harcourt airport new Terminal and Abuja Terminal which was commissioned today by President Muhammadu Buhari.

His absence from commissioning Port Harcourt new airport terminal was because of the crisis between he (Rotimi Amaechi) and the current Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike. But his absence from Abuja new Terminal is not known to anyone, so Dele Momodu asking everyone WHY?

He wrote:
How come my dear friend the Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transport was visibly absent at the commissioning of Port Harcourt and Abuja Airports?

PoliticsFull Speech Of President Buhari At #budget2019 Presentation by mediaNGR(op): 2:54pm On Dec 19, 2018
This is the speech delivered by President Muhammadu Buhari to the joint sitting of the National Assembly on the 2019 budget presentation.

This is my last Budget Speech to the 8th National Assembly.

“Today, we will review economic development over the last three-and-a-half years with emphasis on 2018. We will also highlight the budget for 2019.

“The last three-and-a-half years have been challenging both home and abroad. Both oil and non-oil markets have been volatile. There have been disruptions in oil production in the country.

However, we have cause to be optimistic about the future. The economy has recovered from recession. We have done more work with less resources in Agriculture, Social Development and Infrastructure.

We have intervened several times to support states in the payment of salaries. The Federal Government has also sustained its efforts to curb corruption through the comprehensive cooperation of the single treasury account.

We have also made efforts to end the insurgencies in affected areas of the country. We thank the Armed Forces and Security Agencies for their efforts and sacrifices in protecting the nation.

We have also made many efforts to enhance transparency and accountability in public service delivery. Inflation has declined from 18.2% in January to 11.28% in November. Foreign Capital Influence has also improved.

Trading is a significant contributor to our country’s economy. But we must strengthen other areas such as Information Technology and Entertainment; all hands must be on deck to ensure the country succeeds.

In Agriculture, we are seeing increased investments in all areas of the sector. Indeed, we are on course to achieve good security in the nearest future.

We also prioritized the completion of already ongoing projects as opposed to starting new ones.

We have included the implementation for the National Minimum Wage. I will be sending a Bill to this National Assembly, on this.

To further support SME’s, we have set aside N15 billion, while the sum of N10 billion has been granted to BOI for this purpose.

I hereby present and lay the 2019 Budget to the floor of the National Assembly for consideration and passage.

We can all commit to the early passage of this Bill.

I thank you most sincerely for your attention. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

PoliticsDogara Pleaded With Reps Not To Embarrass Buhari by mediaNGR(op): 2:14pm On Dec 19, 2018
Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house of representatives, has pleaded with lawmakers in the lower legislative chamber not to embarrass President Muhammadu Buhari by staging a protest during thebudget presentation.

TheCable learnt that aggrieved lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who did not get tickets to contest the 2019 polls were planning to protest against the president.

Some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers also plotted to partake in the protest, a legislative source said.

But the source said during a closed-door session on Thursday, Dogara pleaded with the aggrieved lawmakers in the which lasted about 12 minutes not to protest against Buhari as he is presenting the 2019 budget proposal.

Another source said after the plea, some of the aggrieved lawmakers submitted their placards to Kawu Sumaila, senior special assistant to the president on national assembly matters (house of representatives).

“They have started submitting their placards to Kawu,” the source said.

“They are aggrieved, you know most of them did not get their tickets and that is why they want to protest. That is the reason for the delay, the joint session was supposed to start at 12am.”

Last week, some lawmakers in the lower legislative chamber threatened to boycott the budget presentation.

Analysis carried out on the computer of the suspected fraudster revealed certain incriminating documents intended to be used in swindling gullible Nigerians and foreigners alike. Further investigations disclosed that Ogbonna uses his e-mail address activitygeneral@hotmail.com to send unsolicited emails to his victims using fake or stolen identity to legitimize his nefarious activities.

One of the documents was addressed to one Alan Christopher of BG Group Plc, Thames Valley Park, Reading, RG6, Berkshire, United Kingdom, with a rider “Your attention is needed” and a second paragraph talking about a £12,500,000 (Twelve Million Five Hundred Thousand Pounds Sterling) unclaimed contract fund.

He pleaded “not guilty” to the charge preferred against him occasioning his counsel E.O. Isiwu to move a motion for bail. The application was opposed by prosecuting counsel, Innocent Mbachie. The presiding judge, however, granted bail huh to the defendant in the sum of N500, 000 and one surety in like sum.

The surety, he ruled, “must have a landed property in Enugu which must be verified by the Commissioner of Lands”. Ogbonna is to be remanded in prison custody until he fulfils his bail conditions. The case has been adjourned till January 30, 2019.

CrimeRitualists Kidnap Sleeping Mother’s Newborn Baby In Ondo by mediaNGR(op): 9:15am On Dec 14, 2018
Suspected ritualists have reportedly abducted a 13-day-old baby at Uro-Ajowa in the Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday while the mother of the baby, Mrs Oluwaseun Olomodi, was still sleeping.

A source stated that two suspected ritualists sneaked into the room where the newborn baby and the mother were sleeping and took the baby away.

The source said the hoodlums might have kidnapped the baby for ritual purposes.

The source said, “It happened around 1am on Thursday. The hoodlums gained entry into the house through the kitchen. After the hoodlums had abducted the baby, an elderly woman, who woke up at that time and attempted to rescue the baby, was cut with a machete by the hoodlums.

“The elderly woman’s scream woke up the neighbours and the victim’s mother, but the kidnappers had left. Immediately, the community members started combing the bushes but their efforts have not yielded any fruit up until now.”

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer for the Ondo State Police Command, Mr Femi Joseph, said the police had begun investigation into the matter.

“We have launched a manhunt for the hoodlums and I am very sure that they will soon be arrested. We have also begun investigation into the matter,” Joseph stated.

CrimeDrug Addict Reports To Police After His Dealer Sold Him Flour Instead Of Cocaine by mediaNGR(op): 12:28am On Dec 14, 2018
A drug user who was sold flour instead of cocaine reported his disappointment to a police officer in Peru.

According to a video shared online, the dealer deceived the buyer by handing over a plastic baggy filled with what was supposed to be cocaine. But when the man tried to snort it, he noticed it was flour.

Disappointed, he saw a police officer on a routine patrol shift and he approached him to report his failure to purchase cocaine.

"I am from La Porra, I came to get my drugs, boss," the addict told the cop in a video shared online.

"And I want to file a report because they’ve given me flour, boss."

The drug abuser begged the cop to help him get his supply of cocaine and the cop broke out laughing.

He told the officer: "Help me out with that, boss, because one comes here to get his drugs and they give you flour."

According to Article 299 of the Peruvian Penal Code, it is legal in the South American country to possess up to two grams of cocaine or at least five grams of coca paste for personal use.

Planting coca plants - which is the the material used for making cocaine - is legal in Peru and coca leaves are sold in markets.

Christianity EtcAssassination Attempt: Agents Of Darkness After Me – Fr. Mbaka by mediaNGR(op): 8:31am On Dec 10, 2018
The Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has again spoken on the reported assassination attempt on him over the weekend.

This is as the said attack has continued to generate mixed reactions.

In a statement made available to DAILY POST on Monday, which was signed by his media aide, Barr Ike Maximus Ugwuoke, he said Mbaka never at any time blamed the attack on the Church.

The statement read: “The report in a section of the media that Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka of Adoration ministry Enugu Nigeria ‘fingers the Church on his alleged assassination’ is a false and a sensational headline curled by mischief makers for whatever ends and it is hereby refuted.

“First, the assassination plot against Fr Mbaka was not a mere ‘allegation” or claim’ as reported in the media but an established fact. The impact of the bullet on his car which the security agents have confirmed is there for all who cared to see. It is also ridiculous that two fictitious characters masquerading as concerned Catholics could go wild to insinuate in the media that Fr Mbaka planned his own assassination to curry public sympathy and presidential favour.

“Such statement depicts how far mischief makers can go in trivializing issues as important as human life and their absolute lack of fear of God. The statement calls to question the level of concern of such “Concerned Catholics” in such a matter involving the life of a catholic priest. We call on security agencies to investigate the source of such media report as the makers of the report or their pay masters may have some useful information to give them in their investigation into the incident.

“We challenge the two impostors claiming to be writing for the “Concerned Catholics” to come forward with their real identity, parish addresses and contacts to prove the point that they exist and that they are Catholics.

“We state categorically that in all efforts made to inquire from Fr Mbaka the person or persons behind the gun attack at him, he never at any time named anyone or pointed accusing finger at anyone as the sponsor of his assassination plot, be it the Catholic Church or Whomever.

“It is wrong and out of context to ascribe to Fr Mbaka any deductions made by any person or group of persons, or associations or followers of Fr Mbaka on the issue whether verbally or in prints. Such persons or group of persons may be freely expressing their sentiments on the issue but they are not speaking for Fr Mbaka and should not be taken or quoted as speaking for Fr Mbaka.

“Fr Mbaka’s love for the Catholic Church is unquestionable and to allege that he is “unleashing his ministry against the Catholic Church in an attempt to blackmail, or stampede the church into doing his bidding” only portrays the clear mischievous intention of the originators of the statement to incite the Catholic Church against Fr Mbaka.

“Such statement can only come from agents of darkness and liars from the pit of hell and should be considered as such.”

SportsChelsea Want £12m For Moses by mediaNGR(op): 8:13am On Dec 10, 2018
Crystal Palace are interested in signing Victor Moses from Chelsea with the Blues asking for £12m.

Moses played for the Eagles between 2007 and 2010 after coming through their youth ranks and the winger is back on the club’s radar, according to The Sun.

The 27-year-old has struggled for game time under Maurizio Sarri this season, making only six appearances for the west London side.

Moses has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge after playing regularly under former manager Antonio Conte.

He played in 40 matches as Chelsea lifted the Premier League title in the 2016-17 campaign, while he made 38 appearances last season.

Moses joined the Blues for £9m from Wigan in the summer of 2012 and has enjoyed three loan spells during his time at the club.

Sarri’s side ended Manchester City’s unbeaten league run on Saturday evening.

Goals from N’Golo Kante and David Luiz secured a 2-0 victory over Pep Guardiola’s men.

The result left Chelsea eight points off league leaders Liverpool.

PoliticsSenator Binta Garba: I Hawked Bread, Moi Moi To Survive by mediaNGR(op): 7:23am On Dec 09, 2018
The first Vice-President, Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians, Senator Binta Garba, has called on Nigerians, especially youths, to be focused and not be depressed because they hold the key to the future of the country.

According to her, people see her “painted face” and wish to be like her, not knowing what she did in the past .

The lawmaker said she did everything (except prostitution), including hawking bread, selling moi moi and Kunu Zaki to survive.
She spoke in Abuja during the 2nd National Youth Economic Summit organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria (Youth Wing) in the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Garba, representing Adamawa North Senatorial District in the National Assembly and three times former member of the House of Representatives (1999 – 2011), said, “When you sit down here and see Binta with a painted face, you will want to be like her. But if I tell you my story, you will run away.

“I hawked bread and sold moi moi, I started working, did everything to survive, except that I didn’t sell my body. But God was so fateful, at that tender age, I never knew. But He only looked for the inner mind. This nation is blessed; over 60 per cent of the population are youths.

“I started hawking bread with N2 and became a distributor of bread at the age of 11. When you go to secondary school now and you ask a child, ‘do you want to hawk bread?’ The child will say ‘no’. Nobody wants to hawk bread because they believe it is a dirty job.”

Garba warned the youth against causing division in Nigeria, saying they should abide by the biblical principle of praying for the nation’s leaders, instead of abusing President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, said Nigeria had been experiencing security challenges because of lack of values.

The SGF, who noted that ethnicity, had destroyed the bond among Nigerians, expressed sadness over the security situation in the country, calling on youths to lead the vanguard in restoring peace, security and stability by helping government to provide intelligence.

Mustapha advised the youth to report any signal that could cause threats to the public, adding that for the country to develop, everyone especially the youth should shun greed, malice, deceit, envy, slander, arrogance and folly.

On Friday, November 30th 2018, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake ripped apart this road in Anchorage, Alaska, and created a huge hole that made the unfortunate SUV that fell in look like a toy.

However, in less than four days, the road was already fixed. The jagged chucks of broken road are gone, the hole is filled, the road has been repaved and fresh lines have been painted.

According to the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, it's harder to pave roads at this time of year because of the cold temperatures, but they were able to do it. The federal government released $5 million in emergency funds a day after the incident to help get the repairs done.

CrimeLady Found Corpse On Lagos Road With No Government Agency Attempt To Remove It by mediaNGR(op): 8:29am On Dec 07, 2018
IG user, @miss_titilayomi, has shared the sad story of how she found the corpse of a man on the road with no government agency attempting to remove it. Posting on her IG, she wrote

Saw this man lying on the side of the road while on my way home from work. Must be exhausted I thought, definitely doesn’t have a home for an afternoon nap...What a pity! Until I looked closer...He’s dead! Why is he not breathing?! I call the attention of a LASTMA Officer who was mindlessly controlling traffic. Please check that man, I urged. ‘Madam he don die o, na so I dey here since morning, him never move’. Mouth agape, so many questions, none voiced. ‘Ah madam e dey happen like that, na so they just fall dan die like that’. By they, I’m sure he referred to the homeless, the mentally challenged, the less privileged.

What struck me about this scene was the presence of a presidential campaign poster for the current government just inches away from the deceased. ‘Progress’ it read.

I looked at the lifeless body once more, flies parading his body, ants all over his face...even in death he’s still ignored. #temporarypost #prayforNigeria huh?
