Warri Wolves signs new coach

Premier League side, Warri Wolves, has signed on two new coaches to replace Lawrence Akpokona.
The Nigeria Premier League (NPL) official website exclusively gathered that the coaches are currently with the team in Asaba where it is on pre-season preparation for the new season.
The technical adviser of the team is Paul Aigbogun, who is a Nigerian-British born citizen, while the chief coach is former Shooting Stars’ handler, Franklin Howard.
Warri Wolves failed to get a continental ticket last season and officials said they want to prepare very well so that they can get into the continent at the end of the coming season.
Both coaches have signed season-long contracts that will last for the duration of the 2010/2011 campaign.

NFF suspends Premier League kick off

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has decided to put on hold the commencement of the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) scheduled to begin on September 25, Naijaligue..com can reveal.
Rising from its inaugural meeting on Thursday, the football federation announced through one of its board members, Chris Green, that the proposed kick date for the NPL is no longer viable.
It explained that the suspension of the top-flight is to allow the Nigerian FA resolve outstanding issues concerning the Premier League.
Green stated that the NFF wants to resolve the relegation dispute involving Bayelsa United, Sharks Football Club and Wikki Tourists.
Also, the country’s football house is expected to look into the troubled NPL chairmanship now occupied by Davidson Owumi and disputed by Bayelsa United chairman, Victor Baribote Rumson.

The NPL is sure competitive. A league where league champions are relegated the following season. Even CAF Champions League runners up, Heartland could only finish 9th in the league.
The Swiss league is also competitive. The supposed big teams like Basel, Grasshoppers, Young Boys and FC Zurich dont find funny at all

Do we have to call up all of our foreign based players to execute a qualifier. Its matches like this that we are supposed to try out the home based players and new players generally. Its funny how people are comparing Asamoah Gyan's move to Sunderland to Yobo's move to Fenarbache. Fenarbache are a much bigger club compared to Sunderland. Who is Sunderland, what have they won? EPL is doing Nigerians more harm than good

wonderful move for Yobo. He will get regular playing time and also, Fenarbache are a much bigger club than Everton with a huge pedigree in Europe. Yobo will get the chance to challenge for and win titles with Fenabarche which is something he will never get with Everton. He will get the chance to play in the Champions League which also is something he will never get with Everton. The Turkish League is very competitive. There are so many big players there like Elano, Guiza, Quaresma, Nihat, etc and I'm glad Yobo will be joining them. I hope the deal becomes permanent

who is a corrupt politician? This is the usual lack of focus by EFCC. A corrupt politician is one who must have been tried and found guilty of corruption and therefore will be sent to jail which already makes such politician ineligible to contest elections. EFCC clearly dont know what they are doing or someone is pressing their buttons
