All I'm going to say is that we're lucky to have gone out of this with a draw. Yes, there were two legitimate calls for a penalty, but we can't rely on those (today we saw exactly why).

You simply don't play with a 3-4-3 against fast, extremly mobile and teams with heaps of width. Valencia played with two fast wingers on both side, which was visibly killing our defence. Mathieu was dragging both Mascherano and Puyol out position, exposing gargantuan amounts of space for both Soldado and Pablo Hernandez cutting in.

The defence should have been more balanced, and we saw we looked much better the second half when Pep returned to the four-man defence. I'm all for trying out with the 3-4-3, but the starting XI should actually consist of those who can both execute it extremely well and it should be used against teams with employing narrow systems.

Kudos to Valencia for showing up and giving us a horrid time. They turned this into a such an entertaining game.
