Semantics. Everything you typed here is exactly what I typed/explained earlier. Read again. This time, slowly. Cheers. Upeople: 2 Likes 2 Shares |

On the contrary, you can add in your application that you are married and include your spouses’ name. It doesn’t mean you won’t apply separately for him or her (SOWP). This is straightforward and better than notifying IRCC later about a change of marital status. What you should avoid saying is that you’re travelling together to stand a better chance of approval. The spouse would be your tie to Nigeria. Something to make you return to Nigeria. You can always say you’re married if you’re married. Just provide the name of the spouse in the application, then apply for him or her when your study permit has been approved. Also, some people apply for study permit and SOWP at the same time. It’s a bit risky and I wouldn’t advice it. But some people have been approved this way. My SOWP was approved with my wife’s study approval letter, not even study permit. I applied immediately she was approved and we waited until my SOWP was approved after three months. My wife and I travelled together. So people should ask questions and use the best possible option. Remember that applications are never the same. What worked for A may not work for B. And PRAY. Na God dey do these things las las. No be power nor might. Upeople: 3 Likes |

I would advice that you start the application as a married person. You can do a court wedding before you start your own application. You will then fill the form stating you are married. You will include your spouses’ name and marriage certificate in the application. It’s safer and uncomplicated that way. dayjeee: 2 Likes |

No. The airlines won’t ask for a return ticket for work permits and international students. Even you can not be sure of your return date. So don’t bother about a return ticket. They may however ask for your employment letter. I showed them my employment letter in Nigeria, and told them I have an open work permit in Canada which allows me to accept any job. Leoadexy: |

Hello guys, I thought to chip this in. If your SOWP is approved, you do not need an authorisation letter. Students, open work permits are among people who can travel to Canada. I arrived at the end of March without an authorisation letter. My Wife is the student, I have an open work permit. 1 Like |

Hello guys, does anyone know if family members are being allowed to travel/accompany students into Canada? I understand they also have to apply, but are they (family/accompany member) considered as essential travel too? I will appreciate answers or experiences at point of entry. Thanks. 1 Like 1 Share |

Dee4Doyinsola: You do not need a transit visa if you have a valid UK or US visa. If you don’t have these visas, you will need to apply at a German Consulate, who are always keen to deny. I’ll advice you to go through a country that won’t require a transit visa. Good luck. 1 Like |
