Apparently, you don't know much about economics.

Apple computer, for example, has a cash horde of about $300b. But Apple still borrows money from banks , and even offers long and medium term bonds to finance it's daily operations.
If you don't understand how and why, then that makes you an economic semi-literate. No insult intended.

Don't argue against things you don't fully understand.
even dangote still borrows money from banks

“The same minister whose office could not prepare a simple budget should not assault the sensibilities of Nigerians by telling States to accept a TSA policy that is characterised with fraud.”

That's classic

What exactly is your point? Umuahia - Bende - Aro and Umuahia - Uzuakoli - Ohafia roads had always been smooth at least in the past more than 6 years. The stretch that has always been an issue is Ohafia - Arochukwu. There are several federal roads that have been fixed by state governments and refunds made from the federal purse. It has happened severally here in Lagos State. Check the stretch on Benin-Ore road, who fixed that? Federal government?

I am not into politics partisan or otherwise, I am neither registered nor do i even have a voters card. I have no party affiliations. i am only seeking to say that whomsoever you people vote in should fix the road so traveling from owerri to my village should no longer be a nightmare.

I have been informed about the work in progress on Abam - Amuvi road, if this comes through, that will be very fine.

I work with fine details, always and I am from Amannagwu, I visit villa at least 4 times a year (xmas, easter, ikeji and at least not less than one burial) so i know my facts.
Mazi, I'm from Arondizuogu

Sharing Experience...‎
(courtesy of a friend and brother, Dayo Alabi)

This happened today, February 9, 2016...and I consider this experience worthy of share, if not for anything, but to sensitize and galvanize each and everyone of us to take vigilance and caution as serious business...

I let my brother Dayo Alabi give his narratives:

"Help me thank God that the Dana Plane I boarded to Abuja landed safely in Abuja instead of the "breaking news" that would probably have announced that "Dana plane with xyz passangers en-route Abuja hijacked and flown to abc country"!‎

We boarded the plane scheduled to take off at 1.23pm.

However,  one of the air-hostesses became suspicious of one of the passengers who was earlier brought into the plane in a wheelchair with left hand bandaged from shoulder to the fingers; same with his left leg.

The hostess's suspicion arose from the discovery that the man's hand luggage was not passed thru the security screening machines.

To cut a long story short, the Airport Security Team was invited and the bag opened. It was reported that four fully loaded guns were in the bag!

The "sick/injured" man  insisted he could not stand/walk. A wheelchair was brought in by the security team to take him out.  An accomplice was also off-loaded from the plane.

The pilot then apologized profusely for the 37mins delay "due to security breach" saying we should all be thankful as "it is better to be delayed than to be sorry". He then went on rendering beautiful songs (not religious songs anyway) from taxing to take-off to the delight of passangers who were all praising God‎..."

ps:

I thought to share because that Dana Air-Hostess, in saner climes, and to encourage diligence in others, would be on a future honours' list of an appreciative country.

I do hope fervently that she, like Olajumoke Orisaguna, - the now famous bread-hawker ‎shot to limelight by Sister T. Y. Bello's un-quiet action, - will eventually be recognized by the authorities in Nigeria.‎
‎
I also hope that my brother Dayo Alabi, unlike many that were on that plane, but chose to keep 'mute' or indifferent to 'shout-out' on their  horrible encounter, will, in the fulness of time also get recognition for helping to bring this episode to public disclosures.

Most important, I hope this narrative nudges us all to be active participants at vigilance, caution and paying attention to details in matters of public safety and well-being.

A word, as thee saying goes,  is enough for the discerning...

‎
God Rules!‎
God bless you bros. And bless Day Alaba. And especially bless that heaven - sent air hostess

I urge Dana Airlines to please publish that air hostess' name. We must celebrate her.
I personally will call Dana customer care numbers tomorrow. With one singular question "what is the name of that air hostess that averted mass murder on Dana airline on 9 February 2026?" I urge us all to do same.
Whoever gets her full name should please share. She must be celebrated

What Rochas Okorocha is trying to do is the most sustainable solution to our inept civil service in Nigeria. That is the simple truth. By the time oil falls to 5DPB our only possible means of maintaining huge workforce is by making Government owned parastatals more sustainable by achieving at least 70% self funding.

IMHO the funds should have been directed to free education and building of more schools. Will Imolites be happy if free education is cancelled because of most funds going to paying ghost workers? Concessioning will be as difficult to implement as subsidy but just like we removed subsidy now that we are pushed to the wall so shall this Rochas idea be in future.
this Mr lie Mohd of Imo state. Do you have conscience at all?
There is no single free education in Imo state. I attended a wedding in Mbano in Dec 2015. Teachers union came because a relative of the celebrant was an Imo teacher.
While talking to one of the teachers I became friends with, I talked of okorocha and his free education. The lady shouted that I should shut up. That there is no free education in Imo state. And that Okorocha has not paid them for the last 11 months. I felt bad. Asked other teachers and they collaborated her story.
I dashed her 20k.
And all u propagandist can do is to come here and spread lies
Politics › Re: Real Reason Imo State Is Boiling by meforyou1(m): 8:51pm On Feb 11, 2016
Op, Imo is boiling because of foolish people like you that support that born criminal okorocha because of your daily bread.
Okorocha is a criminal. A born criminal. That tyrant has destroyed Imo state.
Just check our neighboring states Anambra and Enugu. While their past and present governors are busy making their states the best, okorocha is so busy eating Imo dry and destroying every infrastructure to its foundation.
Rivers govt constructed the rivers end of ph - owerri rd since 4 years ago or so, but the Imo end has been a nightmare and death trap till today. Owerri - Aba road is in a state of disrepair till date.
There is no economic activity going on in owerri as at now.
And the lands of my fathers, arondizuogu, has been systematically shut out and left to decay till this second.
Okorocha is a fraud.

cheesy
Nigeria is truly a toothless bulldog as the Koreans rightly pointed out!
If not for BH,the French planned a simultaneous invasion of Nigeria from four countries viz
1]Cameroon seizing Cross river and Adamawa States
2]Chad seizing all the lands of the kanuri which is present day yobe and borno States
3]Benin seizing all the lands of the borgu in present day kwara and getting a foothold on the river Niger around kainji dam...the source didn't say whether the beninois planned to conquer Anglo Yorubaland
4]Niger seizing all the lands of the Hausa bakwai..which means that cities like kano and sokoto would be lost.

Quite pathetic our elites are busy sharing the money undecided
if orkar's coup had succeeded, all the far north states would have been ceded to Niger and Chad

This rubbish happened to me. I was rushed to the emergency ward of one useless hospital in Garki abuja one night. The doctor on duty insisted we should pay 20k before they will attend to me. While all d hullabaloo was going on, I told my friend to pull out my wallet. Luckily, I had more than 20k on me. And they gave them and d useless doctor started acting all agile. And they stabilised me. And d fool started acting all friendly the following day.
And all the while I was thinking in my mind 'so that is how I would have died an abrupt useless death'

He was always coming to me daily for advise.
Even when I was serving, he came and sought my advise when he wanted to run for NANS presidency.
I know so much about him but wount reveal nothing.
Just wish him all d best.
