Travel / Re: Help! He Wants To Decline A Lecturing Job Offer And Travel To UK by mekeloby: 12:32pm On May 02, 2016 |
nairalanddotorg: Here's my candid advice based on personal experience. Come to the UK for your masters. Last I checked Nursing is on the shortage occupation list, so not all the stringent immigration rules apply to you. The company would be willing to and able to support your visa application if you intend to remain and work. But you have to be dutiful and intelligent!! Don't listen to any words of discouragements flowing here. Don't exchange words with anyone and defeat the purpose of your thread. Ultimately, what is your passion? What do you think you would wake up in the morning and be happy to run to. I personally go to bed and dream about going to work the next day, that's because I love my Job!! And that's what matters to me. What matters to you? Regards, X |

Obinoscopy: First off, an equation always has two parts separated by the equals sign. That's the basic property of all equations. There is only one equation from the question. The other two that seem like equations are mere what I'd call an 'incomplete mathematical expression'. 2 would be my answer. Regards, XZ |

greenhulk: There's some similarities between 2G and 3G architecture, however 4G is slightly different as the Radio Access Network is totally different. 3GPP standards remain 2G, 3G and 4G. The other interesting names are all industry terms to confuse us humans. Regards, XZ |

ladokuntlad: Spectranet, etc you mentioned I believe aren't mobile network providers and hence shouldn't be brought into this discuss. Spectranet I know uses Point-to-Point Radio I.e. high capacity packet microwave system. They are Telecommunication networks as you call them BUT NOT Mobile Network Providers. Based on these I believe your argument is invalid, and as I said earlier, If they don't have spectrum in the allocated bands of 2G or 3G they can't offer services on these bands. Regards, XZ |

Business / Re: Packaged Dried Catfish Business. Is It Profitable? by mekeloby: 8:39am On Apr 12, 2016 |
@OP Here's my humble suggestion based on my very little experience. Make it heavily salted then advice buyers to soak before using to prepare meals. This would probably preserve for a longer time as fishes are quite very perishable. I've bought a few outside the shores. And this was how it was being sold. Goodluck! 1 Like |

ladokuntlad: I want to correct a notion here that alot of people have been making. There's this misconception that all 4G providers must natively provide legacy 2G and 3G service. This is generally the case but isn't a hard carved rule. Each of these services 2G, 3G or 4G requires spectrum to be purchased which costs a lot of money. This is regulated by NCC. If NTEL have not purchased any bands in the 2G/3G spectrum according to 3GPP standards, then they cannot support that service. Right question now would be, has NTEL been allocated spectrum for 2G or 3G? This is something I don't know about and hence can't make comments on. I hope this is clear enough. Regards. XZ 6 Likes |

Phones / Re: First Public Speedtest From Ntel's 4G LTE Advanced Network! by mekeloby: 5:38pm On Apr 08, 2016 |
linearity: Standardization has already commenced. I made reference to rollout. We would never have same speed as 5G. There are trails confirming up to 1Tbps in 5GIC labs already. 5G architecture is similar to LTE-A. The difference is that 5G would witness the combination of several technologies like small-cell densification, wave-form combination, a new carrier wave (probably FBMC) and Massive MIMO. This would offer users the perception of Infinite Capacity!! Now there's no comparison to 5G!! I forgot to add, 5G is touted to be 1000 times faster than 4G. How practical this theoretical target is? Only time will tell. Xz |
Phones / Re: First Public Speedtest From Ntel's 4G LTE Advanced Network! by mekeloby: 4:59pm On Apr 08, 2016 |
linearity: LTE-A is not 5G. 5G is yet to even be standardised. Target dates for 5G is in 2020. There are still so much researchers hunting down potential standards for 5G, eg 5GIC at University of Surrey, Huawei Technology and some Universities in the US as well as some companies in Silicon Valley. This result is debatable on many levels. First off, the issue with broadband in Nigeria has always been the last-mile connection I.e. The connection between your home router /antenna and the network access device which then connects to the core network. Imagine a tap running so fast (100Mbps) being connected via a straw (5Mbps) to empty a reservoir (2Gb of YouTube or Netflix or some Server). How long would it take you to empty this reservoir? Exactly!!! The straw has reduced the speed relatively and would take less time if the tap was connected directly without a straw. In Nigeria, the underlying copper infrastructure remains and would need to be upgraded to a better material, (most likely fiber) in the core network. This would increase the tap to (1Tbps) and if taken by same straw, the speed would relatively increase to say (70Mbps) over the last mile. There you have it. I just solved Nigerians network problem in words. Hope my figurative explanation helps anyone not technical to understand better. XZ 2 Likes |
Politics / Leadership By Example: British PM Flying Economy by mekeloby: 1:46pm On Jan 27, 2016 |
A friend of mine shared this post of Facebook and I tot to share it here as well... In her word......, "The guy in the background is David Cameron, prime Minister of Worlds 5th Largest Economy.... Flying to Portugal in "Easyjet" one of the Cheap European airlines for Family Holidays (19-AUG-2015 )....Food is not served in Airline.. PM was seen eating Pringles .." Now how many of our own leaders can live this kind of life of humility. I mean, we were colonised by these people. Where did we get it wrong. There's so much in the news about outrageous proposed budgets, spending what we don't have, borrowing from these same people to cover cost of our exorbitant expenses. Most of top government officials don't even know what an economy class looks like, ok maybe that's an exaggeration. But I bet you get my point. X Cc: Seun lalasticlala

Seunaj05: My point is that you spoke out of ignorance. Power generation has not been sufficient (not sustainable, poor choice of words by you again) for a very long time. To meet the demands of Nigeria at least 10000 is needed and not 4900 that was achieved. Even if 10000 is generated now, there isn't a suitable transmission and distribution network infrastructure in place. |
Travel / Re: It's A Lie! Only 48 Nigerians Deported- Immigration by mekeloby: 9:19am On Nov 26, 2015 |
Seunaj05: Please I assume you speak from ignorance. Power generated at GENCO isn't sent to your area until it has gone TCN and the distribution DISCO. TCN has nothing to do with Generation. Probably, the distribution transformers in your area are faulty or something else. Don't debunk news without having right information please. |
