I just recharged my ODU this morning using smartcash and got 10% cashback

you wouldn't know. It's called background updates and processes once you're connected online, the system will automatically updates windows and system drivers and others and install them, so this BIOS is part of it. The system must be allowed to update completely, without obstructing the process. You can disable those windows updates and others not to update automatically though.

yes that action corrupted your BIOS, your system was going through windows update and some other updates, and you suddenly power it off.
Next time don't force shutdown laptops, always save your work and shutdown properly. It's not even advisable to hibernate, always shutdown properly

but I wasn't installing any updates, also it was just blank for more than 10 minutes before I decided to force shutdown.

I later took it in for repairs and the repairer said it's the bios, that he will need to reprogram it manually by removing it from the motherboard, reprogramming it with a new bios and reinstalling it back.

Is that in line with a possible solution?

I put my laptop in hibernation but it was taking time to hibernate (more than 10 minutes). So I forced shut down by pressing and holding the power button. Now the laptop won't turn on again.

If I plug it, the charging light comes on. If I turn it on, the power light will just be going on and off in 5 seconds interval.

The keyboard lights and screen don't come on and the fans don't come on too.

I have tried disconnecting the battery.

Pressing and holding down the power button for 1 minute

Resetting the CMOS battery

Removing the ram and ssd. None worked.

What could be the issue. Laptop is Lenovo Legion 5

The ideal situation is that you have a normal Airtel sim before purchasing ODU. During registration, you first provide your normal Airtel Sim as the alternate Sim. This makes everything easier.

You should already have Airtel app if the above is true. So after registration, you add the ODU Sim as another account on the app. You can always monitor it there. If you have SmartCash, better; because you will get 10% discount when you sub.

there's no 25k for 50mbps on smartcash

na only primary DNS dey my own o. You have secondary DNS? Which device?

What did you change it to? Is it working right now? I mean visiting some of those sites it could not?

I changed it to cloudflare DNS which is 1.1.1.1
You can also use 8.8.8.8 which belongs to Google. Since I changed it I haven't had the DNS issue yet

The settings you mentioned are available when you login to the ODU. The IDU doesn't have these settings.

Use 192.168.254.1 to login the ODU and 192.168.18.1 for the IDU.

192.168.254.1 doesn't open on my own ODU

try to change your DNS server. It would solve that problem

When I am on my Airtel WiFi, it doesn’t load certain images on a course I am taking. I didn’t even realize until recently when I made use of my Mtn WiFi.

I sometimes get this "DNS address could not be found" but the website will later open after a refresh

I have good network on my ODU but sometimes to open some websites na wahala. Is there any settings I should touch?

You said it's the new one... Check underneath for the sim slot. Use the picture he posted as a guide. I will equally be interested in seeing it as well.

Advantage of physical sim is so you can take the Sim to another more portable device when moving instead of subbing two devices. Economics.

for moving around, you can simply connect the outdoor to the indoor with the yellow cable and put inside your bag or something

Be aware that it has a threshold of 1TB, after which the speed is throttled down to 2Mbps.

I doubt if I will use up to 500gb.

Did you just installed yours? Because i noticed yesterday it was installed and speed blazing, but today is been slow. I'm just suspecting same experience with the 5G router will repeat itself with this ODU too. The speed is not sustainable.

I thought one would see the sim when it's being registered. But you can check on the sides of the outdoor unit if there is a removable Sim card.

I didn't even see the device while registering. They only told me it's available and I will get it within 48 hours.

I have checked the outdoor unit and there's no slot for removable sim card but I just checked the manual that came with it and it seems the sim card is behind screws.
