Jobs/VacanciesRe: Would You Accept An Offer With A Salary Like This? by Mekyno(m): 9:16pm On Sep 08, 2014
Mcbussy: what he stands to gain is that he'd have time to search for better jobs. the worst condition that comes with being under-employed is the fact that the stupid job usually takes most of ur time and prevents you from staying updated.

the only reason that justifies taking a bad job is 1.) if it offers an experience dats relevant to ur field.hence,u can always gain from that experience in d future. so if u av B.Sc and not B.Ed,it's not worth it....(2.) if you don't have people you can totally depend on,that 20k per month might go a long way in terms of ur welfare. So it's up to u to decide what u feel is more favourable.

If you ask for my advice,I'd say you should reject the offer and concentrate on ur job search....but then,i wouldn't know how much u need that 20k per month.

I'm not just talking,i'm speaking from experience cos I've been there b4.
d most flexible n reasonable advice, bt i must add, take d job if it giv u tym 4 job search or add value to u. Will it make u sharp acedemically?....pls wich course u read sef?

EducationRe: Respect First Class Students In Public Universities by Mekyno(m): 8:19pm On Sep 06, 2014
greatestman: That is were you got it wrong, we over hype first class graduates in public universities (Mind you i am student from public university with CGPA of 4.47 on the scale of 5.0 point in my final year). In public universities we have frustrated Lecturers that are not satisfied with their monthly pay, and secondly the employment selection is base on WHO YOU KNOW factor. But lecturers in private universities are selected base on merit. People with passion for teaching, people that have teaching ethics, people that are delighted to see their students passing, people that are ready to help their students. Why won't the students have good grades? unlike our lecturers in public universities that are forming local champion without any teaching ethics, been harsh to their students, nobody is ready to attend to your personal problem. Why won't you graduate with 4.2 in place of 4.6? please carry your frustration to somewhere else, Not private universities first class graduates they are good they have conducive environment for learning, they have good lecturers etc. Any first class product being it from private, state or Federal universities are good in their on way. (Being it sorting, being it malpractice, being it cramming, being it natural intelligence etc)
I can bet anything dat dis guy is a private university product. See, 90 percent of first class products in private universty are jst gud 4 second class (upper) in public university. Private university in nigeria is jst lyk (if nt less than) most universities in europe/america, where a (gud/sharp) nigerian student can get gud grades with his/her eyes closed.

PoliticsRe: Boko Haram Militants Overrun Prestigious Mobile Police Training College In Gwoza by Mekyno(m): 1:31pm On Aug 21, 2014
olatade: Police sources told Saharareporters that the college had five units in training with each unit having 59 trainees and unit commander. The units affect were two Mobile Police(MOPOL) units from Nasarawa, Gombe and MOPOL 50 from Abuja. Two other units from Zamfara were also at the college during the attack.

Boko Haram militants earlier today invaded a prestigious  Nigerian Police  training college in Gwoza, Borno state.

The militants numbering 200 arrived the  Police Mobile Force Training School  with five armored tanks earlier seized from the Nigerian army units that tried unsuccessfully to dislodge the sect from Gwoza in the last two weeks.

Police sources told Saharareporters that the college had five units in training with each unit having 59 trainees and unit commander. The units affect were two Mobile Police(MOPOL)  units from Nasarawa, Gombe and MOPOL 50 from Abuja. Two other units from Zamfara were also at the college during the attack.

Several of the trainees were reportedly killed and injured by the militants. A good number of the trainees also fled to the mountains nearby while some of the trainees managed to escape to Adamawa state.

A police source told Saharareporters that the militants blew up an armored tank stationed at the gate of the training college before gaining entrance into the school and wreaking havoc.

Boko Haram took over Gwoza some two weeks ago, hoisted its flag and appointed an Emir to administer the strategic northeastern township. Attempts by the Nigerian army to retake the town has been repelled by the militants in deadly counter attacks that have claimed several Nigerian soldiers.

New efforts at mobilize troops to march on Gwoza has been bogged by mutiny by troops and their families who simply refuse to take orders from their superiors to take on Boko Haram fighters as they express concern that their weaponry cannot match those of Boko Haram.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: What's The Weirdest Question You Have Ever Been Asked In An Interview by Mekyno(m): 3:54pm On Aug 20, 2014
Oxone: Here's a thread worth bookmarking

Mine was a couple of months after service and that was my second interview. I was so jittery because i was desperate for the job.

The interview panel was made up of a number of my peers and there was a pretty lady in the group. Everything was going well until i was asked how much i would want as my take home pay. i gave the usual "pay me the standard rate" reply. I didn't want to commit to a particular figure because i didn't want to short change myself by mentioning a low figure as there seem more to the company than meet the eye.

The lady now asked if i would accept 15k as salary and i pointed out to her that a 15k salary was a joke in Abj in 2011 and wouldn't even meet my basic needs. she then told me that there are ladies who take home pay was 15k in Abj.

*At this point i should have politely stuck to my gun & kept my mouth shut but the next few minutes was like an out of body experience for me. my brain shut down and my mouth took over, i watched myself from afar blow my chances of getting a job with that firm with the things i said.*

I Agreed with her that some ladies taking home 15k a month but pointed out to her that ladies don't always spend their money & have other ways of getting money. The group became animated and wanted to know how. That's when i finished the job with a list that includes money from admirers, dates and all. I cringed with each word but couldn't stop myself. The look on their faces especially that of the lady's when i was done told me all i needed to know. I knew i wasn't going to be called back ever. There are just somethings you don't say. I guess that daily 5 mins of madness chose that moment to manifest in the worst possible way.

Till date, i still can't explain what happened or what took over me because I'm not usually a chauvinistic Prick. it was all so surreal
dont u tink it waz ur uncle in d village or ur neighbour, who got a signal of ur intended success n decide to tune u to 'off ur talking guard channel'?......lol
sory, dear.....its a bitter pill bt u really learnt alot.
