Your opinions are partly wrong for humanity means God has given us the power to do many things eg. observing, learning, thinking, analysing, reproducing etc as we play in this complex house which God has put us in and respond to it and to each other.
My issue is not with God but with religions that proclaim to know it all and also claim to speak for God when in truth they haven't heard from any God. Everything exist in the figment of their imagination.

PoliticsRe: FG Deducts ₦‎700 Billion From Federation Account For Free Meter Distribution by Melchizzedek: 5:45am On Dec 08, 2024
Does it mean customers who have registered for meter will get them free? Because right now, you have to spend close to 300k to get a single phase meter through what they call express means. I think we will come close to solving problems bedevelling power sector in Nigeria if the issue of meter allocation/purchase is solved.

PoliticsRe: Tax Reform Bills: 10 Largest Taxpayers In 2024 by Melchizzedek: 4:54am On Dec 08, 2024
Skydivine:
The main problem is that almost all the companies listed there have their branches across all state in Nigeria.
So they make their money from these states but that profit is tallied at the headquarters in Lagos. Meaning In theory that a company in Lagos is making the profit and then the taxes are collected by Lagos government.

How is this right?
You should know that income tax like the one the OP posted goes to the federal government and it is later shared through federal allocations to the state and FG while Pay As You Earn(PAYE) goes to the state of residence of the company employee. My PAYE goes to Lagos because I work and reside in Lagos. PAYE is expended only by the state government; it is part of their IGR. While Income tax, oil royalty, duties and vat are received by FG but are shared between every state and FG using a particular formula.
Christianity EtcWhy I Think All Religious Views Are Human Innovation by Melchizzedek(op): 4:32am On Dec 08, 2024
In my opinion, religious and philosophical narratives about free will, testing, and punishment are not necessarily "faulty" but are interpretations meant to provide meaning and structure to life. They reflect human attempts to grapple with the complexities of existence, morality, and purpose. However, these narratives are also shaped by cultural, historical, and societal influences, making them imperfect and open to scrutiny. Here's why I think they could sometimes be wrong:

1. Lack of Universality
Religious and philosophical systems often make absolute claims about purpose, morality, and consequences. However, these claims vary widely across cultures and belief systems. This diversity suggests that no single framework has a monopoly on truth. The differing perspectives indicate that these narratives are human constructs, shaped by specific contexts rather than universal truths.

2. Ethical Concerns
Disproportionate Punishment: Many religious systems describe eternal punishment (hell) for finite sins, which seems excessive and ethically questionable. A system of justice should ideally be proportional and reformative, not purely punitive.

Unequal Starting Points: Philosophical and religious ideas often assume a level playing field—that all individuals have equal chances to succeed or fail. In reality, factors like birth circumstances, education, and societal conditions heavily influence outcomes, making such narratives feel unjust.

3. Logical Inconsistencies
If an all-knowing creator is aware of the outcomes of tests, the purpose of testing becomes unclear. Why create beings with the potential to fail and then punish them for inevitable mistakes? This undermines the idea of a benevolent, just system.

Free will, as framed by many traditions, is problematic when paired with the claim of predestination or divine foreknowledge. If outcomes are known, how can choices truly be free?

4. The Human Element
Religious and philosophical narratives are products of human thought, often attempting to answer existential questions with limited knowledge. While they offer valuable insights, they are not immune to bias, error, or the influence of power structures (e.g., using fear of punishment to enforce obedience).

Conclusion
Yes, religious and philosophical narratives can be flawed because they are interpretations rather than definitive truths. They are meaningful and valuable for many, but they should be critically examined rather than accepted unquestioningly. My view is that any system of belief or thought should prioritize fairness, compassion, and continuous learning over rigid doctrines or fear-based consequences. Life’s purpose and morality are likely far more complex than any single narrative can fully capture.

What are your thoughts on this?

FaAbData:
Thanks.
So it means the electoral college votes is a product of popular votes?

I used to think a selected group of people participate in electral college voting.

Why does some states have 57 while others have just 3?
it depends on the population of the the state which In turn determines the number of senators and representatives from the state. In the case of California, it is the most populous state in usa and it has 52 representatives and 2 senators. So the electoral votes from California is 52+2=54. If kamala wins trump by say 15milion votes to 14 million votes, kamala get the whole 54 electoral points and it is called winner-takes-all. However in some states, the electoral votes are divided between the winner and the runner up .

PoliticsRe: Hebrew Is Indeed IGBO. Amazing Language Similarity by Melchizzedek: 10:07pm On Apr 22, 2024
Tellmeastory:
Hebrew = Igbo

The Hebrew word for "son" is ben; plural is bānim.

In Hebrew you say ‘Josh Ben Kasper’ to mean ‘Josh, son of Kasper’

In Igbo the same is done, usually in the village where everyone knows each other.

So if you are referring to a guy in your village named Kelechi Okafor, you would say ‘Kelechi BEH Okafor’, meaning “Kelechi Of The House Of Okafor”,

And then the PLURAL of the Hebrew word, Ben, as stated above, is ‘bānim’.

In Igbo that of course translates to the same word, BANYIN.. meaning “Our common home”.

It’s incredible.
is that all?

Science/TechnologyRe: Guys Using Solar Energy Instead Of Nepa Or Gen. by Melchizzedek: 1:40pm On Feb 18, 2024
GerogeI:
This your claim get as I be.
Most times a 300 watt rated panel will give you 50 to 100w effective power. So your 10 panels will give you 500W to 1Kw instant power. That's 1 pass my neighbour generator at best. More often your effective power is about 700W. AC is at least 1 hp, solar chest freezer is 100w, inverter fridge is 200w. Plus lighting ,TV, fan etc. There is no way 10 solar panels can power everything in your house. You are either supplementing from grid or running your home appliances one at a time.

Do not give peeps false expectation. Your effective power will be 10 to 20% of your installed capacity.
I think work of the panel is to charge the battery not to power the house directly because it is a DC. When the battery is been charge, the power pass through inverter which changes the DC to AC; that is what his household appliances make use off

We are all aware that as engineering Graduates we're mostly required to have some sort of experience or certification in other to stand a chance in getting a job right here in Nigeria ( Even for entry level roles, some forms still require 2 years experience at least). My question now is how do we get these experiences or certifications when we've never been employed. This is 2021, other than your normal certificate what can someone do to boost the chances of been at least invited for an interview?

I need suggestions please. thanks
