JohnBullMySon: Yes, Osimhen is more pacy than them. he can be a left wing forward and we use wing backs. Even if na ur natural position, if you are a mediocre, someone else will play your wing for you.
By the way didn't you hear when I said that Osimhen has been deployed to the wing in his earlier clubs?
Do you know more about Osimhen than his own coach who said he can be deployed to the wing?
Osimhen will play as an inverted winger, he doesn't need to cross that much as Zaidu is on that same wing
And this your neural pathway talk, Please tell me, between Rashford at 9 and Ighalo at 9 who will you prefer? Osimhen cannot displace any of our wingers, if you choose to deploy him there, as he cannot outperform any of them. A makeshift he is.He excels as a CF.. |

JohnBullMySon: I can't understand you guys. Are you trying to say that Osimhen is not versatile?
If the left wing was a bad position for a pacy striker then why should Mbappe be asking for a left wing position in his next club?I'm pitting Osimhen against Mbappe because they have quite some similarities. I'm not saying that they're equal.
Do you know that Rohr has said before sometime last year that Osimhen is good on the wings?
Do you know that Osimhen sometimes played on the wings at Chaleroi and Wolfsburg?
I just tire for una. Which of our left wingers is even that good to be a sure starter over Osimhen? Osimhen deployed as a winger, cannot relegate to the bench, the wingers we have at the moment.Playing as a CF (his natural position) is not the same as playing as a winger as he cannot give the the same level of performance. How adapted (matured) is he to that role, more than the guys who play week in and out in that position. How is his interpretation of space from that position more than those who play there consistently. All that i am trying to tell you is that the neural pathways of guys who have the wings as their natural position and who play there consistently are more developed for the wing role than those who feature there as makeshifts. Exposure and learning creates and strengthens neural pathways, and neural pathways are responsible for habits required to feature in a particular role. Habits such as posture, interpretation of space etc. A CF's interpretation of spaces available to him and channels is not the same for a winger. Body alignment, tilt and posture also come into consideration. Football is role play and maturity in those rolesAnd you talk about space, is Osimhen more pacy than the wingers we have now. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Meliforme: 3:15pm On Apr 18, 2021 |
JohnBullMySon: You no just wan get sense.
Common football knowledge should tell you that pacy strikers can easily be deployed to the wing. Mbappe can play in the centre and wing. Sterling as well, With Osimhen's recorded speeds, what stops him from deploying to the left wing in the SE, or is there anyone that can bench him there? It's not as if we even have a top left winger. So all our Good finishers should all sit down on the bench because Osimhen can only play 9? The Osimhen you know is a CF and not a winger, play him as a winger and see his impact drop considerably. . Football is role play and maturing in peculiar roles vis-a-vis awareness and interpretation of space from the perspective (angle) afforded by the role (position), amid other paraphernalia like the skill set required for the role. Osimhen outperformed all our wingers as a CF and not as a winger. If Osimhen is to be listed as a winger, then all of our wingers will bench him. |

drDoom3: Aribo is above Nwakali and Etebo.
Like play like joke, it will be very funny when you see Aribo playing for a team like Liverpool in few years time. He is English, so it will be easy for him to get clubs in EPL. Plus Gerrard connection. The guy is just too good. Quick feet, dribbling, finishing, decent passes, smart on the ball, left footed. We don't know what we have in that guy. Nwakali is the best fit for the CM role, looks like he is built for that role, He makes that role look easy. Seems like he has received special grace for the role. Nwalkali is a game dictator, he is like a choir leader, i can't really say that for Aribo. Aribo looks more mobile and flashy, but those attributes don't wow me. I look at impact. We are talking the CM role here. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Meliforme: 8:49am On Apr 13, 2021 |
ChrisKels: KC Nwakali remains a huge talent but his off the ball activities do not impress me. He strolls a lot, I want him to be getting involved every now and then, by opening up to receive passes to dictate the flow of the game, he has it in him because he has that eagle eye for passes of every range, he dribbles well and he is hard to be dispossessed, hence, he easily wins fouls. I believe he will do better in a team that enjoys keeping possession. Whenever the boy is with the ball, he always makes things look easy and I am never scared of him losing possession unlike when Ndidi or Iwobi is with the ball Let's tell ourselves the truth. Assuming Nwalkali is relatively unknown, given his performance with Alcorion some of us in this thread already will be clamouring for his invitation. Of every midfielder in perspective, Nwakali is the most suited for the CM role. He looks like the missing ingredient. In the pecking order: Nwakali-Etebo-Aribo-Ejaria. |

charlesemeka85: lack of an enforcer is the biggest problem we have currently in the present super eagles team. Aribo have not really done that job well even of late I will like to see him deployed as a 10 because of his eye for goal and dribling ability
If can lay our hands on an energic enforcer as ac Milan Kessie or bennacer we are good to good
Even the incoming ejaria to me he is featherweight for the rigors of that position
I just can't wait for one to erupt from no where Kelechi Nwakali |

chrisooblog: to be fair that statement was made in 2019 before Ndidi had evolved to this current level. That said I agree his statement was very harsh because Wilfred even at that time was already besting Kante in some key indices like tackling, interceptions and recoveries. It was calling Ndidi a poor man's Kante emphasizing his passing skills that touched me with compassion. And i told him Ndidi is meek and will come good |

I don't want to call Mane, Sarr, and Boulaye Dia/Habib Diallo so lets just leave it there. Remember i said when the players are deployed in their primary (best) positionsMeaning the comparison was drawn with the format LW against LW, ST against ST, and RW against RW. With this in mind, Nigeria presents the best front three in Africa. You made little sense with team Morocco, but take into consideration that Munir and En-Nesyri are strikers and shouldn't be in the reckoning when we are presenting a front three combination in primary roles. I don't want to talk about the rest. |

drDoom3: I love and appreciate my country, but I am also not blind to facts. None of our defenders is on the level required to take a team far at a tournament like the world cup. Same with our goalkeepers. Ndidi is world class in midfield, and Aribo has potential, but with no solid AM, the midfield is also blunt. Osimhen is brutal, and Onuachu is a lethal finisher. However, our wingers have been very poor at the moment. Chukwueze isn't considerably improving to the level I thought he would get to. Simon and Kalu are struggling with inconsistency. Onyekuru is doing well only in Galatasaray, his comfort zone. These are not the type of players that can win crucial battles against big guns like France, Brazil and Belgium in the course of a major tournament. We need really good players, or better development for our potentials, and we need it soon. The trident strike force of Chukwueze, Osimhen and Onyekuru are the best we have in Africa as it stands. Bar tactics i am yet to identify any defense setup in the world that the trio cannot ravage, when played in their best positions. |

Etebo's only problem was going to that useless Stoke City. I still believe that was the most ridiculous decision I've ever seen made in football. As it stands, Etebo over Aribo. In him we have, more defensive cover, mobility, adventure, power and work rate. |

You should know all these things
Chuks just Dey Where e Dey like that
I no blame am because e no get competition Samuel Chukwueze is improving in leaps, especially in team play as i have noticed and listed inter aliaMobility He covers more grounds unlike before. Defense contribution: He makes more tackles and tracks back more often., putting less pressure on his fullback and thereby releasing the fullback to participate in the attack as well. Passes and passing range: These areas have also seen improvement. The formation we played against Benin and Lesotho, leashed our wingers, and did not give them the orientation they needed to perform. 4-4-2 will not bring out the best in our wingers. Onyekuru and Chukwueze tried. |
