andrewbaba44: Most times I just smile because you guys knows the truth in your minds but you keep to deceive your self
Well your crappy analysis Will end here on Nairaland Well It's actually on Nairaland, that one can come upon the babble that Haaland is better than osimhen. No sensible analyst will speak this. The highest you will get from a good analyst is "It depends on the coach's preference or tactics". Osimhen has more to bring to the play and i will personally play him over a Haaland. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Meliforme: 10:33am On Feb 20, 2021 |
TheSuperNerd: That's why Silence suits you. The day Osimhen picked up his injury, please how many assists did he bag that day? Can you answer that?
Also, the last game he played for Napoli before his Injury, did he score or not? Biko answer.
Yet you are here blabbing nonsense about a lad who is still playing with a cast/strapping to his shoulder on recovery from a long lay off. A lad who isn't at 100% yet. And you call his play "running up and down" for nothing. You really don't know ball.
Before Osimhen's injury, lad was in the top 25 in the league for Most Key passes made which is a clear reflection of how much he brings his teammates into play as a striker. Now on this, Haaland is no where to be found much. Not even in the top 50 at any time in the Bundesliga because he dwells more on being fed than feeding others as much. He has 3 assists from 15 starts but Osimhen at least has 1 from fewer games (6 starts), 5 starts which came before his long lay off.
Lol... Makes crucial finishes and leads his team to victory yet they sit outside the UCL spots in the Bundesliga. They sit in Sixth place for goodness sake. Dortmund have been on a downward spiral in the league with Haaland up top and scoring for your info. They are in danger of missing out a UCL spot but one night in the UCL is what you want me to focus on only. Lol
Osimhen's last game in the league was against Juventus and his team didn't lose. He's not at 100% yet but he still gets picked by Gattuso because he offers much more than a 100% fit Petagna would. Different fans and analysts on Italian twitter admitted having even a 75% Osimhen was better because he would push up against the Juve defence keeping them busy than a heavier and slower Petagna would. They knew they needed him because they were at their weakest taking on Juventus and luckily they still got the win. And you tell me the lad offers nothing. And this is even a 70-75% fit Osimhen. You really don't know what you talk about.
Osimhen is more well rounded than Haaland and that is a reality you will eventually swallow. The fact that one scores far more goals doesn't blind me to the fact of who is more well rounded. It's all about preference as both are top young strikers. And I repeat, Osimhen offers more. Even their national team stats show this. This is what we call sound analysis, with facts and figures brought to the fore, not some bafflegab slathered with what they feel. Please keep showing these guys why you are called TheSupernerd |

Please, please, please, nobody should be comparing Osimhen and Haaland as Osimhen is clearly the better player, rather the comparison should be drawn between Onuachu and Haaland since goal scoring is the only metric for appraising a striker. I am very sure Onuachu will out perform Haaland in a setting such as the SE. |

I am one of the few that kept saying that Balogun is our best CB, and now It is very clear for all to see. When it comes to the CB role, i can't comfortably say that Balogun is even better than Akpoguma. Akpoguma might even turn out to be our best CB. |

andrewbaba44: How is ebuehi better ?
Ebuehi performance in the eagles is just normal and nothing more, his performance is not even up to what aina played at the afcon and yet you think he is better
Did you watch aina at the afcon ? i am sure you did not
Why do i think most of you prefer him because say na fine boy
You wont blame rohr for choosing to play cb at rb just because you think aina is not good, but what about classy ebuehi? LOL
No matter how you paint it its so clear
As much as i like dissing the epl is there any twente player that will start at fulham?
At the bolded stop contradicting your self , even blind man know say aina don improve like mad but just because you wanna make a case for ebuehi you dont wanna fully admit Do you watch Ebuehi at Twente? Based on current form: Ebuehi is faster than Aina, for a modern fullback, speed is an advantage. Ebuehi is mom disciplined positionally and supports the attack very well. Aina appears to spend more time in the opposition's half than he does playing the role of a fullback. Ebuehi has shown to be more astute when it comes to the defense. He has the height advantage and is more successful with aerial duels. He is more comfortable on the ball and can absorb pressure. When it comes to making good passes, Aina has the advantage, but Ebuehi can also deliver good passes. Those are the main reasons why i said that i prefer playing Ebuehi at the RB position than Aina. |

Subzero047: You mean to tell me Fulham is better than Twente?? Aina has played more games for Nigeria, yes but has he performed better than Ebuehi, No. So Ebuehi will have to transfer out from Twente but Aina will have to stay at Fulham to impress you
All I can read from your writeup is English bias You are there. |

12large1: Anyway, this full back position shouldn't even be a discussion. Starter Aina RB Zaidu lb Replacement Ebuehi RB Collins LB
Anything contrary on current form and our coach is playing with his job. The topic should be that CB partnership. Personally, balogun is our best CB thus far although I will like to see him pathner akpoguma at CB. What do yall think? Balogun - Akpogunna are the best CB's that we have for now. It is their bonding and chemistry that we are yet to witness. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Meliforme: 5:45pm On Jan 22, 2021 |
12large1: For one, the league that the 2 of them isn't even comparable neither is the club. If for example, ebuehi was at psv or Ajax then there can be a conversation. For 2, Aina has actually been better for Nigeria than ebuehi even though I think ebuehi had more potential pre injuries. Anyway, for ebuehi to regain his position, he has to become Fit, perform significantly at twente and transfer to the Big 3 then we can have a conversation That Ebuehi plays in a lesser League doesn't make Aina a better player. Even on current form i will pick Ebuehi. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Meliforme: 2:25pm On Jan 22, 2021 |
andrewbaba44: He isnt a better fit .
Shown more in world cup and afcon ba This is not for debate. When it comes to the fullback business, Ebuehi is the better pick. I won't blame Gernot Rohr for choosing to play CB's at RB with Aina looking from the bench. Aina might improve, I have seen some Improvements anyways. How can you analyse the role of a fullback and tell me Aina is a better pick. Ebuehi excels in that role biko, and with class. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Meliforme: 1:52pm On Jan 22, 2021 |
andrewbaba44: As things stands aina is in a better form and a better player so I don’t know what you mean I am saying that Ebuehi is a better fit and has shown more in the RB position than Aina as it stands. Untill we try Aina in that position again. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Meliforme: 11:55pm On Jan 21, 2021 |
chrisooblog: agree with you 100%. Ebuehi looks more comfortable in defense and goes forward as well. Aina flourishes more in an attacking set up but I think struggles when he's under the cush. that said Ola is improving in that aspect game by game the EPL is sharpening him up Alright. |

andrewbaba44: How do you know he reads the game ?
Maybe one of super eagles friendlies or the World Cup
Aina is the better Player but I have no problem seeing ebuehi there instead of akpoguma I will trust Ebuehi with that position as things stands in the now. Aina might be versatile, but Ebuehi does a better job. |

Subzero047: I prefer Ebuehi too but if Aina improves his defensive side, his offensive side trumps Ebuehi Yes, as it stands. Anyways both players still have time to improve on the different aspects of their game. |

Injuries have been on Ebuehi's side and that has hampered his progress a lot, but i still will prefer him over Aina, any day, any time. Ebuehi is a complete fullback, Ebuehi has stability going for him, Ebuehi is a guy that can handle pressure, and very good at reading his game. |

1realBobby: watching Anderlecth vs genk at the moment
and all i can see is that Onuachu cannot play alone up front. He looks clueless and lost whenever he is played as a lone striker. I believe that has been his issue in the super eagles.
I don't know why this genk coach decided to play him alone up front today, but it is definitely not working out.. He is this type of one-two player... He can't hold the ball at all, so he thrives when he has someone to quickly pass the ball to, he moves into good space, gets the ball back and scores. His finishing is actually top notch.
The coach had to bring in Cyriel dessers late in the second half, to assist him up front.
I believe a combo of Paul Onuachu and Victor Osimhen should do the trick in the super eagles... Victor could be the key to unlocking the beastly form of Paul Onuachu in the super eagles. We can't have such a deadly finisher and leave him to rot, just because he can't play alone up front. Good analysis. |

owbabs: I see people here are just as confused as the coach himself. The problem is not so much the defense but the midfield which is supposed to be the shield for the back line. They should be comfortable on the ball, hold their positions with discipline and serve as a creative outlet. The rest of the team will benefit from this. We were discussing the defense not the midfield. |
