Growing up, I had a 'baby of the family' immunity from both dad and mum, I could get away with almost anything. As an adult, the only annoying part is that my business is the entire family's business. Plenty advice, criticism and teasing from all sides but its still fun though. 12 Likes |

In days past, this wasn't an issue, because polygamy was accepted, the men that could support multiple wives were not condemned for doing so, therefore the matter of infidelity rarely came up. Then came forced monogamy, coupled with stringent economic conditions, there'll certainly be an imbalance and infidelity must happen. Fact. I've lived in Calabar and know that Edim Otop area too well. I pity any fellow who has the guts to steal around there, this is exactly what happens once caught. A lot of bad stuff happens in that locality. It's pathetic how the once-peaceful Calabar has turned into an AK-47 zone. |

Something about your messages upset him AND you're married, you don't get to take decisions without discussing it with your significant other. Now, looks like he hit you out of a bruised ego. Although I'm against domestic violence in any form, but I think you should try to placate him. He's your husband- observe a day he seems relaxed, cook him a sumptuous dinner, wear something alluring, go on your knees and apologize to him for upsetting him. Look really remorseful. He's your husband, he won't reject you. He'll cool off, then gently but firmly tell him that his hitting you scared you and hurt so bad. There are other ways to right wrongs. Your message is good, but your title is warped. Marriage is a privilege to both men and women. While men might find it easier to remarry after a broken one, there is still this pervasive negativity attached to such men as those 'who couldn't maintain a marriage'. Perhaps you haven't been acquainted with a man saddled with a bad marriage, experiencing their frustration would remind you that marriage is a privilege to both genders. Angels are only found in heaven, while on earth, we're all humans and have a stack of imperfections. That aside, she told you about her past because she trusts you. She believes you would look beyond her imperfections, mistakes and wrong turns to see the part of her working to be a better person. I would prefer someone who entrusts me with their secrets than a pretender. Let go of the shock and judgement, continue helping her to build a better character.
