At this point, government should strongly consider devaluing the naira to bridge the gap between the official exchange rate and the parallel market rate. That's the only way to keep down the price of petrol since price/litre will now be a function of the parallel market exchange rate.

Government should also immediately increase the minimum wage to at least N30k. Asking workers who earn N18k monthly to cope with the impact of over 70% increment in pump price is unjust, insensitive and criminal.

The PDP doesn't need a mouthpiece that will learn on the job. The PDP needs a spokesman who won't cower before the ruling party. His victory at the Convention is sure to make Lai Mohammed, Segun Adeshina, and Garba Sheu spend more time at their desks writing rebuttals. If the PDP wants to be heard, this is the candidate with the loudest voice.
