Health / Is Depo Provera Or Minera Contraceptive Injection Really Harmful? by mercy1998(f): 6:32pm On Dec 24, 2016
I started using Depo a year ago everything was fine. I hardly had any of the injections side effects my weight is still the same, my moods are alright and everything seems normal to me.

However I haven't had my periods for 3 months now I'm really worried if it is a good thing or a bad thing? Anyone wAnyone who has used Depo and they know what's really happening? What to do in this situation? I love being on the injection because I don't have to do a daily routine and my Menstruation Cramps are no longer there. Share your experiences with me ladies please.
Politics / South Africa Reclaim Their Title As Giants Of Africa With The Biggest Economy by mercy1998(f): 4:08pm On Aug 11, 2016
PRETORIA – South Africa’s strengthening rand has made a contribution to the country regaining the title of the continent’s largest economy in nominal terms.
“The positives are [attributable] to the global background and the fact that the recent elections were free and fair,” Standard Bank economist Kim Silberman told SAnews on Thursday.
South Africa last held the position of the largest economy in dollar terms about two years ago.
“What you’re seeing is quite an optimistic view,” said Silberman.
Nigeria, said Silberman, is an oil linked country, while South Africa’s drivers among others include gold – which is still around 10 percent of South Africa’s exports – has been performing well.
“So far so good it signifies faith that global investors have in the Reserve Bank,” she said.
Earlier this week, the National Treasury said it maintains government’s fiscal policy stance as articulated in the 2016 Budget.
Treasury said it had noted some of the comments by rating’s agencies on the outcome of the 2016 Municipal Elections which were held last week.
“Government remains committed to implementing fiscal consolidation and returning public finances to a sustainable path while protecting core social and economic programmes.
“Government’s track record of achieving fiscal targets lends weight to future fiscal plans, in particular that of maintaining the expenditure ceiling over the medium term,” said National Treasury. – SAnews.gov.za

Romance / Re: Why Do Nigerians And South Africans Engage In E-fights by mercy1998(f): 12:53pm On May 29, 2016
I personally think Nigerians like to boast about how good they are and they are African Giants but if you live in South Africa our Media does not show anything good about Nigeria all we see is Boko harm, Witchcraft?, Fraudulent people, Poor people and the dusty towns of Nigeria and some of their movies are horrible. so South Africans don't really know or see the things naija people brag about so they have a bad image of nigerians and the nigerian brothers and sisters who migrated to SA they are known for drugs, Crime and Frauds

Celebrities / Paul Okoye Was Psquare Peter Is Useless Without Him. by mercy1998(f): 11:42am On Mar 16, 2016
I got introduced to Psquare in 2005 by my cousin I was very impressed with their music they were so unique. Going through all their albums I'm literally their number one fan and even introducing them to all my South African friends.

I remember when they released their hit song Do me. We used to jam on that song and it was very nice. as the years go by I've realised that the person with the most talent is Peter because he could sing and also dance but when mu friend told me that Paul is actually better the only reason he can't dance as hard as Peter is because he broke his leg at some point and I understood that.

I realised that Paul is a very good singer and he sings most of the songs. He is the lowkey twin who does not like attention and fame whereas as for Peter he tries so hard to be relevant and thought he was better than Paul or Jude. His pride might possibly be the reason why he decided to leave psquare.

I will never buy Peters album I would buy Pauls album because I know he has real talent and he is very humble. He loved his mother so much and the love he has for his long time spouse shows what kind of a man he is.

I feel like Peter all this time has been acting like he owns psquare and Square Music he belittled Paul forgetting that Paul is that guy who sings all the verses and the chorus. We saw that in the Chop my money song when Paul joined in the Chorus you could hear his unique voice.

Peter has betrayed not only Paul OKOYE and Jude OKOYE but also us Psquare fans how can brothers all of a sudden decide to break up is it because of money? or fame? I'm failing to understand.

MrP is not going to work for you Peter you are nothing without your brother and you know that. I personally think Paul was the power house of psquare you are allowed to disagree.

Fashion / How To Take Perfect Pictures (pics) by mercy1998(f): 7:26am On Feb 22, 2016
We all want to post that perfect picture on our Instagram or Facebook account but because of the quality we fear. As a model myself I have learnt the better way of taking perfect pictures with my phone or anyone's phone for that matter. you don't have to own an IPhone to look great even with your Nokia you can still have a beautiful picture.

Lightning. Light is SO important. I always take shots at day time and outdoors, if possible. In winter that’s crazy because there are not many hours of sun. But even in Summer just make sure that you take pictures standing in the shade but your camera should be exposed to the sun or light not you.
If you are inside the House Taking pictures facing your Window with your curtains open is the best.

If you have a smart phone take so many pictures even if it's 100 I take so many pictures and choose the only ones I like myself don't be shy we all want to look Good on our memories.

To avoid a double neck especially girls just move your head a bit forward and ensure that your neck is straight.

Taking a full body picture requires someone to do it for you so make sure that it's a patient friend or sibling so that they can take you a lot of pictures with different poses. Your camera quality does not really matter.

Make sure you smile even if you don't take out your teeth just show happiness in your pictures it is the best way to do it.

Let me show you some of my pictures or you can follow me on Instagram @thatonyathela or Facebook Naomi Nyathela

Politics / Can We Trust African Leaders to Eradicate Poverty And Develop Black Empowerment? by mercy1998(f): 1:10pm On Feb 10, 2016
Is anyone in the world more especially South Africa and Nigeria free to publish his or her own views on any subject in a truthful way? Our media which is mostly state owned is free to publish what they want but in fact a stifling self censorship prevents all but a small selection of politically correct views from being heard.

Especially when it comes to discussions like Corruption of African leaders, Tribalism, Women Abuse, Poor Education, Lack of services by our governments and other issues that affect us as Africans. There is a range of topics and opinions that are forbidden to be
displayed in the media.

In all African countries after Colonise left it was a new Chapter. A new era for us Africans to show our Ability into development of our people and continent BUT when African leaders came into power they made no effort into unifying Black people and developing Black Excellency they didn't set up Schools and universities teaching in Black languages only no English. However African leaders made a point by sending their own Children to European Schools to be taught in English by the very same White people who exploited us and stole our resources. seems they did it deliberately them taking their kids to Europe they betrayed the great mass of Black African Children by providing them with awful Schools.

Most African Leaders and African Rich people are" Afro-saxon" meaning a black African who yearns for everything v White and European and they are ashamed of everything Black and African. an Example [NOWADAYS APPARENTLY EVERY SUCCESSFUL BLACK AFRICAN FROM POLITICIANS, MUSICIANS AND SPORTS STAR THEY PREFER MARRYING A WHITE WOMAN OR IF NOT WHITE SOMETHING CLOSER WHICH IS A LIGHT SKINNED GIRL]

Robert Mugabe is a prime example of an Afro-saxon showing contempt for Black people and trying always to dress , drive , talk and act like a white while he claims to hate White people. Afro-saxon dominates more especially leaders of former - British colonial countries including our own Nigeria.

The more our African leaders shout about African values and culture the more ashamed they become. A profound self doubt about their African identity cripples them psychologically and manifests itself in resentment and rage. Whenever you hear an African calling for African solutions for African problems you know that "African solutions he mean a German car , English suit, Italian shoes , a clinic in London and also above an Education for his Children in Europe Whilst the poor suffers all these consequence.

Because of this luring of Lavish lifestyle of our politician it leads into Corruption and we as the citizens we don't know if our resources are still safe into these leaders hands do our politicians value money more than their people.
What did we do my fellow Africans to deserve this suffering?

Should we give our leaders a chance probably someday things will change how long shall it be then? Do we have to lose hope? Is poverty going to decrease? Is slavery going to be eradicated? What about Nepotism and Corruption? Terrorism and Discrimination? What about Abusing children and women? What about crime? What about Xenophobia will it stop? What about tribalism? What is it that our leaders are not doing right that makes all the problems Africa have seem to increase daily?

The content clearly tells that this thread was created to invite insults to be directed on South Africans as usual... I know of some young Nigerian women who are in the books of different south African modelling urgencies, some don't even have proper papers but do participate in the pageants..there is a thread on this forum of a young Nigerian model who won the beauty pageant held in SA,she went as far as parading her medal on the streets of lagos, she has been registered as a model in SA...Miss Lady, its easy to point fingers at other people, you sound xenophobic yourself...am very sure that nobody looked down on you but yourself did.
I've never said anything negative about the entire SA just those specific people. I'm not xenophobic and I have some good South African friends I'm just complaining that my hairstyle and my nigerian surname got me interrogated and eventually cost me being part of a competition that I had confidence I would win. I've done a lot of pageants before and won them there was no problem back then

Fashion / Rejected At A Beauty Pageant Because Of My Braids by mercy1998(f): 12:48pm On Feb 06, 2016
As a young aspiring model who grew up in the streets of South Africa life has not been so easy for me. I've always entered school beauty pageants and won most of them now I entered one of the biggest beauty pageant at our Varsity.

The story begins like this: you enter the competition online you send your details including a face picture and body picture so I sent my pictures but on my pictures that I sent I had a weave so they accepted my application and called me for an interview. I went to the interview with my braids to my suprise I found four judges Two Black ladies one white lady and a gay black guy. They opened my application immediately they asked to see my passport I told them that I have an ID document I'm a valid citizen of South Africa I grew up here. I'm sure in their minds they thought I came illegally and probably bought the ID I felt offended by the look in their eyes. I asked myself how can an African person look down on another African Child.

The offensive comments kept on continuing when they asked how am I nigerian if I'm light skinned? ? I was really offended

One of the judges even said my braids look dirty and no girl come to a competition with braids I should get a Weave. I told her that Braids are my African identity I feel so real when I have them on when I have a weave I feel uncomfortable and it's really itchy.

Some South African people look down on other African Countries and their people it's actually sickening to see Black people judge me on my Blackness. so I should conform to the norm of having a weave and wearing lots of make up? Because I'm nigerian I'm automatically dark and a thief? They think they are white people forgetting that Whited actually hate them.

Took some selfies with my braids
