RomanceRe: She Refused To Be A Housewife by merge(f): 11:19am On Jun 14, 2008
hanen:
All this one you people are talking is story. Housewife. For what na?

What her husband fails to realise is that ANYTHING can happen in the future, when it comes to jobs. What if the man loses his job, or times get bad? My mother used to work when i was younger. In fact, she didnt stop working till i was older. I went to daycares, and guess what. I learned to read at a very early age. When i finally started school, they pushed me up a class. daycares arent the devil, abeg. Some companies even have creches. And my siblings and i turned out a lot better than many people whose mum was there 24/7. Being a stay-at-home doesn't guarantee a THING. It does guarantee a certain sense of boredom and helplessness on the woman's part. My mum regrets stopping work everyday.

And all those people that are saying, 'open shop'. Is it for everybody?!?! For me, such a thing is a waste of my intelligence and an insult to my ambitions. The two of them should work out something. Or the guy should quit HIS job and stay with the kids if its doing him like that, no be so?
Good post

I think the husband and wife should comprise with each other.

If she does not want to stay home, then she should at least work part-time.
CultureRe: Why Don't Blacks Take Their Culture Serious? by merge(op): 11:47pm On Jun 12, 2008
or compare the India Day Parade

don't take my opinion too personal

Let be adults discuss where I am wrong in a mature manner.
CultureRe: Why Don't Blacks Take Their Culture Serious? by merge(op): 11:43pm On Jun 12, 2008
The way you present a culture shows the respect you have for it.

I not against blacks but this is just my opinion.
CultureRe: Why Don't Blacks Take Their Culture Serious? by merge(op): 11:38pm On Jun 12, 2008
another example

The presentation of our culture is usually cheap and look like not that much time has been put into it.

When there is a cultural event?

Compare the Puerto Day Parade to the Nigerian Day Parade.

I have nothing against Blacks but this is my opinion.
CultureRe: Why Don't Blacks Take Their Culture Serious? by merge(op): 11:17pm On Jun 12, 2008
There is more though.

I am far from ignorant but hey that is my opinion smiley

Well if you want to call me ignorant than go right ahead !!!

@merge

CultureRe: Why Don't Blacks Take Their Culture Serious? by merge(op): 11:07pm On Jun 12, 2008
For example

Why are most or a lot of Igbo Roman Catholic?

I know many are also Christian.

Why is there not an authentic Igbo religion?
CultureRe: Why Don't Blacks Take Their Culture Serious? by merge(op): 11:03pm On Jun 12, 2008
Well that is what I see.

I don't care if you say I am wrong.

I am not talking about having more culture.

I mean taking the culture serious.
CultureRe: Why Don't Blacks Take Their Culture Serious? by merge(op): 10:51pm On Jun 12, 2008
Give me examples why I am wrong then. wink
CultureRe: Why Don't Blacks Take Their Culture Serious? by merge(op): 10:37pm On Jun 12, 2008

I know you want to prove me wrong but lets actually observe sometimes.

I want to be wrong but this is what I see.
CultureRe: Why Don't Blacks Take Their Culture Serious? by merge(op): 10:31pm On Jun 12, 2008

Everyone has different taste

We all come in different size and shape.

Just exercise and keep in shape. Fit and toned. grin

Take good care of your skin, hair, nails.

Take vitamins and eat right
