Thank you for this information. I am in same situation, applied Nov 4, did biometrics at Lagos VAC a week after and got PPR Dec 14. I used the new portal and I have a valid US visa as well.

My question is I can do DHL, or walk-in to Lagos VFS? If I do walk-in to Lagos VFS, do I pick up there too when passport is stamped or it will be delivered to my address of choice? Are there any fees for walk-in?

tuton:

Oh no.. you dont have to fly anywhere. If you dont live in Abuja or Lagos. Just go to DHL and tell them you want to pay for a 2 way courier.

Abuja is faster. If you didn't do biometrics in Abuja and you want to send to Abuja(please pay the transmission fee(9410) and sms fee 990).

But if you are not in a hurry. Just submit to Lagos if thats where you did biometrics.

The process involved in passport stamping:

It really will take a while for the job market to come back up. Some people who can't work from home are losing their jobs. Small businesses are shutting down. I'd honestly not advise any prospective immigrant, who has a job in Nigeria, to land within the next 3 months.
Seconded. Heard some companies are already planning to slash salary and put some projects on hold.

It is well.

I think with dedication, you can pass your PMP without necessarily having experience in projects.
Correction, you need 7500 hours of on-the-job experience managing projects to even register for pmp not to talk of pass the exam. I think the first responder already mentioned that hence the capm option

Please I have a question for those who used Ethopian airlines and had an infant traveling. What is the luggage allowance for infant. I am seeing conflicting info on this.

Please your response is highly needed. Thanks
You are not alone. Just this morning i had to research on this. I visited Ethiopian airline office weeks back who said 10kg (not sure the attendant understood that my flight was to Canada) but checking their website now i see 23kg for flights from/to Canada. I plan to call their office to clear this out

Hi, try these,
For Ontario, you can use 'Drive Test Centre, Ministry of Transportation of Ontario'.
For Alberta, you can use 'Drivers Licensing, Alberta Transportation'.
Gracias

Anyone know who to address the FRSC letter to, for drivers heading to Alberta/Ontario? Sadly, FRSC does not use TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN.

Incorporated Consultants, advantages:
Higher net income; no regular tax deductions
Possible tax advantages
Greater access to capital
Limited liability
Business credibility
Separate legal entity
Help legitimize business expenses
Increase success in response to current trends that see more clients selecting Incorporated consultants over non-incorporated consultants

mikkyphp thanks for this wonderful information.
-did you eventually incorporate?
-was it a better option, comparing the take-home pay with T4?
Travel / Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by Merovingian: 7:06am On Nov 08, 2018
Please can someone explain accepting contract job as Incorporated vs T4. I heard incorporated gets paid higher but won't you be remitting same taxes and deductibles as T4, coupled with all the paperwork you will have to do yourself? Read somethings about incorporated but still not understanding the concept with terms like PSB of 44.5% tax, the salary don finish now. Which of the two is better and why? Thanks

Please house I’m at a cross road right now , I’m usin two degrees for WES and I’m required to send the certificate of both. Can I send them together or it has to be separate mails, the amount I’m seeing for separate mails is about 55k with dhl..
please house can I just send the two in one single mail, has anyone been in this kinda situation

You should be able to send them together. But why are you sending them via dhl and not faxing There are free online fax, myfax or faxzero and many ppl are using them. Save yourself the expense and fax. You should follow this thread to get more responses.

The last applicants just withdrew so we applied and signed the lease today long story short. They took 4 months rent upfront and this was much better than the person requesting 12months upfront from us! Phew! Thank God the house phase is over.
Congrats on securing an apartment.

1. Is the upfront payment made in cash or post dated cheque?
2. Can you sub lease or its part of the agreement not to? Asking incase one finds a better job out of city and have to leave.

The website says free baggage allowed is 2 units, then restriction is 23kg...am confused if is 23kg per unit or the two units together must not weigh more than 23kg.

If you had asked the bold text we could have answered you directly that each bag should weigh 23kg. Moreover it was written on the website link I provided that 23kg 'each'. Hope it's clear now?

Hello People,

I want Express Entry but in a dilemma as to who to apply between myself and my wife.

I have a BSc, as well as 8 years plus work experience in a bank.

My wife has an MBA, but has no work experience at all. Some have used NYSC for the minimum years required to apply as primary applicant. If she has none then you automatically the pa else use the crs tool to simulate who has the highest score.

Kindly advise how best to proceed.

Question 2: Proof of Funds
From what I see in previous posts, I will need to provide a naira equivalent of N8m for a family of 4.
I do not have that amount.
Any suggestions as to How best to work around it would be appreciated.
Gift deed can be used, check page 0 for details

Question 3:
If application is successful, do I have to go with my family immediately or could I go alone at first to "prepare" the way for the family?
Yes you can go alone but you need to land before your medical or passport expires, which ever comes first. See page 0 for stories of how people have landed

Thanks once again.
Its a great forum!

I have tried to answer as much as i can. I can see you read page 0 but you'll need to devote more time to research the best path for your journey.

1. In Nigeria, hard work and education do not guarantee success and self-sustenance. Not even for the so-called big men.

3. I was at the intensive care unit for infants at UNIPORT teaching hospital one day, a couple came with their pre-term child from Bayelsa and they were told no bed space. meaning the child can go and die for all they care or try another teaching hospital. Think about that.

The reasons are too numerous to count. Do you know how many people leave their well paying lucrative jobs in Nigeria and go to Canny to start at lower positions? Why do you think they do it?

These points are very true. Na who sabi greet oga pas go chop semo, others go manage pure water. The worst of them is our healthcare, churches will need more volunteers in their healing dept to attend to those thrown out to fend for themselves. Poor service combined with half baked practitioners can only be a recipe for something else. You will end up using your savings to fund your self-govt (electricity, water, security, healthcare abroad etc) instead of investing in greater things.

My question is, how long before I notify cic considering the time bound response they expect from me for uploading necessary documents, as I want to be ready before notifying them.

Congratulations on your baby boy. How long do you have to upload all documents upon notifying them?

Hello everyone,

Passports stamped, COPR received and all of a sudden am having cold feet.

No doubt many people doing well find themselves in same position, to port or not to port? I don't have answers to help you make that decision but the stories and experiences shared on this platform can guide you. Including the seniors.

The fact is that their economy need you, if not EE won't have existed. And they are ready to reward you handsomely for your contributions while you grow your career. People from your background get good job quickly. The story of the Indian guy who ported with his family and had it tough is a lesson to learn from.
Plan, plan and plan well. Getting a job before leaving the shores of Nigeria is a nice start, maybe you should try it. Someone shared a story of applying to his comp for an internal move to canny on the other thread.

Porting is nothing to be depressed about, cheer up. Don't let LVO people hear you o grin

Sorry I don't have an answer to your question but just want to point out that this Canada journey is a lesson in humility...so if there's anyway you two can patch things up, the better for you both...blood, they say is thicker than water.

Second the bold. This journey is making many return to burnt bridges hat in hand. Lesson learned so far is never slam the door behind you, that same door might be your only escape route when fire starts
