Hi guys,

Is there such a thing a "timing" the football betting market? Can one foretell, with precision, the time interval within which a team will score its goal?

In addition to what BullBearMkt has written about moving averages, I recommend that traders find time to read about VWAP (Volume Weighted Average Price), an important metric used by professional traders.

It is a modified type of moving average that uses the volume traded at various price levels as a weighting factor.

Traders get a little extra commission if they are able to to buy below an up - sloping VWAP.

Trading the mean reversion method I recommended above will guarantee the trader very efficient entries into the market.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by meshpips(m): 8:05am On Apr 20, 2017
BullBearMkt:
THE TREND IS YOUR FRIEND...

Price is always noisy with a lot of fluctuations up and down. This many times make it extremely difficult to determine when to enter/exit a trade with profit. Just like a drunkard going from point A to point B, price will first stagger around to reach points A', A''... before it finally get to its destination at B, Chart 1. This of course is to create emotions (fear/greed) for traders/investors to ensure he/she exits the trade with a loss or at most minimal profit.

A great tool to smoothing out price fluctuations is the MOVING AVERAGE. A moving average of price is based on the close of each bar interval. For example, a daily 20-Day-Moving-Average (20DMA) is the close of the last 20 day bars. It is great on historical data and provides price trending.

The phrase, "...the trend is your friend" was coined to keep traders aligned with the general direction of the stock's price instead of jumping around the price's whipsaw. If the overall price trend is up, traders will want to BUY and if the trend is down, it is SELLING time.

LIMITATION
-Moving Averages on price are lagging. This means moving average reacts to price movement, or price turns before MA makes its turn...

The longer the moving average, the greater the lag but the benefit is you will get a smoother trend. Hence, a 50DMA provides more lag time than a 20DMA, although 50DMA will give a smoother trending than 20DMA.
Nice write up @ BullbearmrkBullbearmkt,

You didn't mention a few other methods to use moving averages.
An important one is when price has moved 2 - 3 standard deviations away from the moving average line.
At such times, the trader looks for reversal signals in order to take a mean reversion trade (that is a trade back to the moving average line).
In my honest opinion, studying measures of central tendency like mean, median, mode etc without adding the use of measures of dispersion like range, standard deviation etc is not complete.

Great job done all the same.
Thanks for the article.

Hello everyone,

I often tell people how that accumulating games can be dangerous to their bank roll.

While it is possible to look at it from the perspective of risk: reward we should also factor in the probability of winning.

Football betting by default gives you about 33% chance of being right if you bet on a straight win/draw/loss.

Your probability of being right increases to 66% if you use any of the double chance method but the return drastically reduces and there still lies the possibility of losing your entire stake if the 3rd (unselected) outcome prevails.

Instead of having 22 games with 1.20 odds on a single ticket, why not target that 20% profit daily and compound it over the next 22 days (or 22 games)? This way, your capital base will increase THIRTY EIGHT times! Yes, you heard it right, 38 times.

Start with a small capital that can serve as risk capital, maybe N10,000.
Manage your risk properly by TRADING the odds (note that I didn't say "betting"wink
Aim at making between 10 - 20% profit per game (sometimes, it can get as high as 100% but let's work with the lower limit).
Rinse and repeat the process.
Most importantly bet in such a way that you can NEVER lose all of your stake in any single match.

This to me is the blue print to success in a speculative venture such as football betting.
Let the serious minded ones handle this as a business and follow a clearly laid out plan while the simpleton keeps dreaming of making 47 million naira with his N100 stake.

Good Read

***
A strong naira is not synonymous with a strong economy. The naira has gained 25% since February 2017 on the back of 12 interventions of a total of $2.27bn. The questions on the lips of Nigerians are:

-Is this for real?!
-Is it sustainable?!
-And what next?!

Simple economics tells us that, without a change in the market structure, gains in the exchange rate are likely to be temporary and transient. Surges in supply with no policy shift will only entrench multiple exchange rates and encourage arbitrage.

The CBN is increasing forex supply with good intentions, but as they say “the road to hell is paved with good intentions”. Whilst Nigerians ponder on how much the naira will gain, we see the CBN trying to catch a falling knife without sustaining any wounds.

In this edition of the LBS Breakfast Club, Bismarck Rewane and the FDC Think Tank explains the economics of exchange rates and the impact of a strong naira on sectors of the economy and your business.

Report Link:
https://www.proshareng.com/news/Nigeria%20Economy/Naira-Gains-as-the-CBN-Tries-to-Catch-a-Falling-Knife---LBS-EBS---April-2017/34387
Please be reminded that the CBN did 12 million futures contract USDNGN July 2017.

They got the contract at N250/$

This should tell you where the dollar - naira rate is headed.

Keep an eye on what transacts on FMDQ and you will be able to foretell what the FUTURE holds.

Enjoy your day people.

Hello everyone,

Kindly share your thoughts on UCAP.

I recommend a buy at the current price (2.93)

with 3.67 (and then maybe 3.82) as target profit

level.

Reasons for buying:

1. Demand channel breakout to the upside on daily time frame.

2. Gap waiting to be covered in confluence with the 61.6% Fibonacci level.

3. Price failed to make a new low on the last sell off thus forming a higher low.

I expect the target profit level to be hit anytime between April 17 until the end of the month.

Enjoy your day people.

Hello everyone,

here is the update on my account:

Balance is now N19,908

This simply means that within a 24 - hour window, I have been able to payback (100%) for this "business".

A few punters might be on the look out for " astronomical" profits where you make over ten times your stake using accumulation to your advantage.

I built my betting model to focus mainly on risk management while ensuring steady equity growth.

In my little period of studying Nigerian punters, I have come to the conclusion that many lose money because they do not give risk management the proper place it deserves.

It's a new day. A fresh slate stands before you. Will you rather chose to manage your risk and have consistent profitability? Or will you rather continue with your dream of making millions of naira with your N100 bet?

The above question is a rhetoric whose careful consideration can help you make a life long decision that will completely revolutionize your sport betting experience.

Do have an excellent day everyone.

hmmm.... I think the profit ratio is more hard than sports predictions... because i see little people trading on it
The return is like having an odd of 1.71 or slightly higher for football betting.

The only difference is that while binary options is a 2-way probable event (BI-nary), football betting is a 3-way probable event or the WDL type.

The knowledge of one of technical analysis, fundamental analysis or sentiment analysis is of extreme importance and stands as a pre-requisite

for binary options. This is what many lack and hence their reason for avoiding binary options.

Once knowledge comes, fear is dispelled.

hey bro does those trade binary really pay well?
Binary options will return between 71 - 86% profit when you are right but will take 100% of your stake when you are wrong.

So, it has a 100:71 risk to reward ratio.

Can someone work out the MINIMUM win:loss ratio that will ensure profit?

No serious cash on it ( a few thousands). Was a bit busy so I couldn't do damage control on the game.

I strongly revere my mathematical methods and stand by them even in the face of loss.

Pretty soon, I will show a 40 - day betting record where I will grow a paltry sum of N50,000 into at least half a million Naira.

I dare to blaze a new trail in this business. Most people do not have proof and the world's system believes not what it doesn't see.
