I find it unnecessary for now to abuse you but pray tell before I do, did melaye graduate from abu in 1962 when the school offered BA honours in geography as an option?! If melaye could do nysc in 1999 and graduate in 2000, i guess it's also possible for him to obtain his geography degree with BA honours in 1962 while gaining admission into the campus in 1995 or thereabouts! House, let's give a shout out to melaye and his gang of praiseworshipers!

from the drivel you have up there, i can see how you graduated (that is, if you have). So from the paragraphs above, all you could deduce was that it was only in 1962 (an indication of when the faculty was established) that they offered BA in geography, abi?

clap fo yasef, you are very good in reading/comprehension.

slow.pokes come on this forum and be vibrating with confidence in their ignorance. go back and read those paragraphs again, this time read slowly and follow the timeline of events progressively before spewing your imbecilic drivel.

FYI - i don't give two shits about anybody including dino, just giving slow people like you, who are too lazy to do little required digging and compare available facts to arrive at relative truth, an opportunity at a little bit of understanding. The school system in any given part of the world keeps (and will keep) evolving to meet market/industry/social needs of the day. Even the nigerian tertiary school matriculation system has evolved dramatically in the past three years not to talk of 20/30 years ago. what you meet in your time may not be obtainable or remain a valid process 10years from now. Get that into your skull and review your position on like issues objectively (i.e. if you know how) cool.

I matriculated at ABU the same year (2000) this Dino fellow claims he graduated and as far as i can tell, never before in the 50 plus year history of the institution has geography department awarded a B.A degree and never has the department been under any other faculty than the sciences. I can swear that in the year 2000 Department of geography ABU Zaria was a department under the Faculty of Science and so could not have awarded a B.A. degree. Dino should better tell us who gave him the certificate he is currently parading. Come, does it even make sense to classify geography as an Art? undecided

with all you said above, you must have been one dumb student..

History of the Department of Geography at ABU ZARIA

The Department of Geography, Ahmadu Bello University started on September 26th 1962 using the classrooms formerly used in teaching ‘A’ Level Geography at the Nigerian College of Arts, Science and Technology. The first two lecturers were M.B. Thorp and M. Mortimore from Liverpool and Leeds respectively. Prof H.A. Moisley joined the Department as the first Professor of Geography in 1963 from the University of Glasgow and was later joined by P.N. Hore as a Senior Lecturer with a Ph.D from the University of London. By the time the first class of undergraduates moved into part III of the degree programme in October 1964, there were four academic staff in the department. The staff strength has grown to 26 academic staff, 6 technologists, 3 library staff, 7 secretarial staff and a driver.

The Departmental Library is the largest Geography Departmental Library in the country. The Department also has a comprehensive map Library.

Staff-Student relation is friendly and undergraduates run the socially and academically active National Association of Geography Students (NAGS), A.B.U Chapter.

Geography Department was under the Faculty of arts and Social Sciences offering the degree of B.A (Honours) and B.Sc (Honours) in geography respectively. Presently, the department is under the Faculty Science offering only B.Sc in Geography. Apart from the undergraduate degree, the department offers Postgraduate Diplomas in GIS and Rural Development respectively and Masters of Science in Geography, GIS, Transport Management, Population and Demographic studies, Rural Development and Environmental Management respectively. We also offer Ph.D in Geography and Rural Development.

These courses have made the Department a haven of postgraduate students that are eager to attain the training and have been tremendously relevant in all spheres of their endeavours.

That result is fake. This may not be related but take a look at this page on abu zaria web site

Cut from the above web page
Dr. B. A. Sawa (B.Sc., PGDE, M.Sc. Ph.D), is the Coordinator of this unit. Dr. B. A. Sawa was born on 15th June, 1963 at Garkida General Hospital of Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State. He hails from Thlila, Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State. He attended Federal Government College Port-Harcourt (1978 – 1982) and School of Basic Studies, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1982. He was a student of the Department ofGeography Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria from 1983 where he graduated with Second Class Honours Upper Division B.Sc. Geography in 1986. He holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degree in Geography (Climatology) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and a Doctor of Philosophy in

At the bold phrase, he got a bsc in geography in 1986. How come Dino's statement of result in 1999 is reading B.A Geography.

Madam, FYI the stamp and signature below shows he has either collected his original certificate or it is fake.I will go with the conclusion that he has collected his original cuz of the date there. To your number 1 question, in the 90s people gain admission with just 2 credits and are required to remedy it before graduation through O level IJMB. If Dino has not collected his original certificate I would understd with him cuz if u are not in a paid employment, u will have no need for original cert.

Change or not, department of geography can never be under faculty of art. It is science. At most under social sciences which should still be questioned.

Sahara will win the case because the issue with this case is not whether the shameful senator went to school or not. The issue is, he was never legitimately admitted to the school so how could he have legitimately graduated?

He probably forged the WAEC result to get is admition and got to NYSC with another forged letter.

By the way, P8 in a major subject? Which school accept that? Definitely not ABU. Check his WAEC result, he should have gone for Agric instead not geography or so.

Its very disgraceful what u av typed.
Man use your common sense at least for once:That stuff is most probably a forged certificate because it didnt originate from the authentic department of the school.Names dont tally, faculty is wrong, statement of result etc.Y do u think ABU has suddenly kept mute. Its safer for them to be mute, than issue a statement that wud bring many people down and severely tarnish d image of d school.
Sometimes how u people reason defies logic.

don't be too sure of your self in ignorance...
