Fuel scarcity in Nigeria has continued to break records in the history of excruciating discomfort caused by the unavailability of Premium Motor Spirit across the country.

The current crisis has been described as the most protracted scarcity in recent times.

A social media user named Miz Carzola based in Abuja has shared what she believes is the longest queue for fuel in the history of Nigeria in the course of different fuel crises that has so far become a normal occurence in successive administration.

This year’s edition of Mr Ideal Nigeria 2016 which was held on Sunday, March 27th at Bespoke Center in Lekki, Lagos, saw Prince Ehirim, representing Abuja, crowned the winner of the pageant, beating finalists which included contestants from Bayelsa, Ekiti, Anambra, Lagos, Abuja and Taraba.

Ehirim, who is an actor, a fitness buff and a model, will be representing Nigeria at the upcoming international pageant.

Rt. Hon Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi popularly known as "Gburugburu" was born March 20th, 1964, and hails from Orba Town in Udenu Local Government Area of Nsukka Zone in Enugu State

Before joining politics, Ugwuanyi was the general manager of Premier Insurance Brokers Limited Enugu and has also been the president of the Rotary Club of Emene in Enugu State.

Lynxx, who dropped a single last year with Tekno titled ‘Pray for You’, was scheduled to drop his sophomore album in November, 2015, but did not.

Since going underground for a while, the singer has revealed the reason behind it saying, he took that time to understand the business aspect of the music business. He also added that, the time away helped him get to reconnect with himself which will manifest in his new album.


Writing via his Instagram account, Lynxx said:

Evolution is the greatest thing that can happen to man. Growth and formation development, realization of Purpose and ignition of real drive, passion and value puts you in the state of mind to really impact the world in ways you have never imagined.

In the Last year alone i have Evolved into a being i never envisioned i would be but overall this is the most fulfilling state of mind, body and soul.

Its All been channeled into the Music and i cant wait to share these experiences with you lot. Iyanya and His partner, co-owner of Triple MG – Ubi Franklin has signed a new artist – Chibbz to their record label.

The ‘Kukere’ crooner took to Instagram a to announce the signing and then unveil their new artist.

He wrote:


“Meet the young talented Chibbz (Chibuikem Nwakanma), he was born in Abia state in Nigeria but moved to the United States at the age of 11, by the age of 13 he realized his talent in music which initially was rap music.

He had to face his studies due to strong educational family background but it didn’t hinder him from indulging in the arts. He won talent shows in high school and while attending University (Columbia College Chicago) he opened up for artist like; Iyanya, P-Square, Kevin Lyttle etc.

YBNL Nation star, Lil Kesh, held his album listening party at Industry Nite, on Wednesday, 16 March, 2016 where he delivered a sensational performance.

It was a super-charged night at Spice Route, Victoria Island, Lagos where the weekly event, hosted by Spanky and Dj Consequence, saw a large crowd turn up to listen to the album for the first time. A number of upcoming acts opened the show, setting the tone for what would become a truly memorable show.

Lil Kesh arrived on stage to an expectant audience and he brought the house down, to the delight of the excited audience. He delivered stellar performances of his monster hit songs, carrying the crowd along all the way. He was joined on stage by label mate and friend, Viktohand ‘Cause Trouble’ collaborator, YCEE, who were around to show support. Also present at the event were YBNL Nation boss, Olamide Baddo, Simi, Falz, Small Doctor, Dammy Krane, the rest of the YBNL Nation crew, and many others.

The highlight of the show was when Kesh took time out to appreciate his label boss, Olamide, thanking him for all his support in the last couple of years and for believing in him enough to sign him and give his career the massive boost it needed. House of Representatives directed the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to return to the former pencil-paper method in conducting examinations for candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions.

The House of Representative on Thursday, March 17 directed the Joint Admissions Matriculation Examination, JAMB to discontinue the Computer Based Test, CBT. The House said “technical flaws” recorded in the latest computer-based Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination had exposed JAMB’s lack of capacity to handle the computer-based tests.

The House also wants the examinations body to run both the pencil- paper examination and CBT for candidates who should choose how they want to write exam.

The resolution was passed after a lawmaker from Lagos State, Mr. Oghene Emma-Egoh, had moved a motion on the “conflicting” scores of candidates who took the examination.


He said: “The House is worried that already, serious admission problem is rocking the nation because JAMB receives huge allocation from the Federal Government, they charge candidates all manner of fees and majority of the candidates do not gain admission because of the technical hitches of the CBT.” He cited instances of conflicting scores which was occasioned by technical flaws.

He said: “Foluke, the 17-year-old girl in Ejigbo-Lagos, scored an aggregate of 156 in the first result, while in the result that later came out, she had an aggregate of 196.” Citing another instance, he said Ibrahim Shawulu from Kogi state who scored 399 out of 400, but in less than 24 hours another result surfaced reducing Shawulu’s score to 199.

Other law makers while supporting insisted the CBT be made optional for the students.

The House which approved of the motion after it was put to a voice vote by the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara also mandated its committee on education to investigate the matter and report back to the House for further legislative input.

As late Minister of state for Labour and Employment, James Ocholi (SAN), his wife, Blessing, and son, Joshua who died in an auto crash are being buried today in Kogi state, President Muhammadu Buhari has paid tribute to Late Ocholi.

How do I begin to pay this tribute to a man who was the epitome of civility, the archetype of intellectualism, and the paragon of loyalty? How do I begin to mourn James Ocholi, whom you can describe as one of my right hand men in the quest to reposition our country, and fashion a land of peace and prosperity, where no man is oppressed?

A lot has been written about Ocholi since the tragic event of March 6, 2016, which took the life of our Minister of State, Labour and Employment, his wife, Blessing, and his son, Joshua. And a lot more will be written, for Ocholi was no mean man. He was a man among men, an Iroko in a forest of trees. How are the mighty fallen!

Among many other positive and pleasant things, I will always remember Ocholi for his loyalty to our beloved country Nigeria, loyalty to our party, the All Progressives Congress, and loyalty to our administration, in which he had served for just about 4 months, before death took him.

In 2011, Ocholi ran to be governor of Kogi State on the platform of our then party, Congress for Progressive Change (CPC). I believed so much in him, and in his ability to add value to the governance of his state, that I followed him round the state on campaign. We visited all the local governments, visited the paramount rulers, and urged the people to vote in a worthy man as governor. But politics is a peculiar game in Nigeria. The best often does not win.

Ocholi did not win. But he bore it gracefully.

In 2015, he threw his hat into the ring again. He sought to be governor on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), a party he had helped midwife. He still did not win at the party primaries, an eventuality he bore gracefully again.

When the APC was being negotiated into existence among the Legacy Parties, Ocholi did a yeoman’s job, contributing his quota to the legal processes. This he did under a junior lawyer, who was not a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) like him then. But what mattered to Ocholi was the birth of a strong, solid party, which could wrest power at the centre, and bring change to our country. Hierarchy is important in the legal profession, just as it is in the military.

But Ocholi subordinated pride and ego, served under his subordinate, and APC was born.

Dream became reality.

Steadily but sure-footedly, he was part of the Change Cabinet, resolved to bring our country from out of the woods, and pedestal Nigeria among the greats in the comity of nations. Then the unthinkable happened. The Grim Reaper harvested Ocholi. What a pity! Sad and tragic.

But we have this consolation: the departed has taught us fidelity, commitment and loyalty to party, to government, and to God.

He will be sorely missed.
