Trave/Scenic Photography. I dont know how to give you NL visitors free tips on capturing places in a professional manner? Since i dont want to break the rules here Considering the interest in these pictures and their content, nostalgic for some people like me (am a Lagosian who served in enugu in 1984-5 and I fell in love with the place.i only made a return trip about 3yrs ago...it was lovely) i will go back again...now that the airport is working... |
Spirit of Okija: I used my Nikon D3200 24megapixel camera with a 50mm zoom... I wonder where in Naija I can get good long range lenses...professional lenses, camera et al can be got at Aroloya street after tom jones off nnamdi azikiiwe road, lagos island...you can approach from tinubu fountain or adeniji adele. Better done with leg..no car park in these areas |

Please,I need to buy a low priced Nokia(any good brand) with dual sim features for my cdma Stacomm and Glo line? What are the names of such phones... Price range and where can I get to buy in Lagos. Thank you for all the trouble |
Ruthabokoku: ThanksRuth...let me quickly let you know that your childhood expectation is a "presently" a mismatch for the prevailing economic situation in the Uk. I am happy you have helped to let us know that both of you manage your finances very well. So thats a big problem solved in terms of discipline which many pple lack. I am having a feeling, you will be going in cycles and get sucked into the Uk system which is not working for a lot of Nigerian people.. The biological clock ticks and your hubby might be getting tired with time. I wish I could speak with you...something tells me both of you "would" do far better in Nigeria if you dont mind the initial shock of problem of nepa and what have you. Many of my friends have found one thing or the other to do in Nigeria. If you dont get a job,you can a little business or both and your man too. It is your goal that matters and not the feeling that you have come back home. The opportunities are more here now cos of huge population and the increase in foreign taste of the emerging middle class. Of course...you must shine your eyes in business and purge yourself of the oyinbo mentality. Just think like the indians in Nigeria,,, just joking. And please do your research of what nigerians need and what opportunities available to you and hubby in Uk that you can bring to Nigeria to make a difference especially in the areas of service business whiuch you can do from your flat before you add product business much late or both. Get relevant skills blue collar both of you. Of course, you may get a paid employment in addition. And of course work had to get a honest friend to give rough estimate money to spend for 1yr excluding rent as you take off gradually. Am not coherent typing this... Lastly, the subtle "spiritual issue" might be waved aside here in NL but it may be for real. And if not. Thank God. Pray to ascertain all.very important otherwise it could be like pouring water into a basket with large sieves. Test all things...there or here before you embark on any action. I enjoy NL and the pranks and serious issues. Am in my 50's Please pray for direction...may not be mine though |
My simple advice is this: Keep N750k in a fixed deposit not because of any interest but to avoid touching it. 1st thing. Take a week to meditate and pray for divine inspiration. This does not have to do with any religion. Calm yourself down. Let your wife stay calm. Now during this week,be thinking of those you have marketed to,profile them. Write down what you think they may NEED in their businesses and private life. They may be accounting related, food related(a la your wife) think widely. These clients know you and you tell them you now render the service(s) you have picked eventually. Now break the other N750k into essential spending money...fueling,kids,feeding support, toiletries etc for a 3mth period.....say N450. The N300k use to start a service business and food biz with ur madam. She may cater for your old clients...she will borrow utensils, cook and make a profit. AT THIS TIME...DO NOT RENT A PLACE PAYING RENT! DO A BUIZ OR BUSINESSES FROM HOME. Then with skill you have, continue marketing to add to client base. And remember,in your planning, you maay need to sell now those non essential gadgets in the house...dstv etc become spartan... If your car is an suv guzzling fuel...sell and buy a small 2 door toyota tokunboh. Your first target is to ensure...you keep on asking where is the match between what Am good at and the public is STARVING for. Please keep away from online buiz now. You may have a free website to inform about your real world buiz and your wife's lastly, think big.open up all your senses to get the vibrations of positive leads. Am 52...have been in buiz. Best of luck Now look at these strengths you have. 1 |
bolargeez: Football is a crowd sport, and I believe crowd is senseless. Why would I waste my two hours watching a game that would soon fizzle out of my memory like a scoop of ice cream. The time is better spent doing something more intellectually rewarding. Aside the crowd mentality syndrome invoke by the game, the game has programmed the people's mind to accept it as a modern day gladiators spectacle.Thank you for this observation. I am sure you like football but the it is the fanatical attitude of Nigerians in the recent years when cable became cheaper that is alarming to say the least. Seriously,I played in the 70's and I love it very much as a young student. And that was it. Today,it has become an escapist affair from the real challenges of life in Nigeria, even if its for the duration of these matches. It is irrespective of your status in life...rich or poor. It is now an opium which must be replenished. I simply enjoy watching, when I rarely choose to do so. And the clubs we talk about are transitional since players come and go in a team. So what the heck? Maybe people like with a modest interest in these games and teams need our heads examined, maybe. So many terrible things have happened because of this foreign wahala. I enjoy it and I tell friends that if I must choose foreign, then I pick Hull City, down the table. I have never seen them play o,o,o And lastly the one that shocked me: I was going to know the office of a friend near Emirate stadium, and I just felt...let me take picture of the exterior and I did. And I didnt think about it again. In Lagos,my kids went through the cheap camera flicking through then suddenlyu they screamed...daddy! You mean you saw Emirate!!! I said yes. They said...wao...thats arsenal stadium...I said really? I wont forget the look on their faces... Foreign stuff addiction....ummggh |
Bethor: i feel your concern,I strongly suggest that you seek a second opinion in a good eye clinic,be it private or clinic. Let another diagnosis take place:retinopathy or otherwise (I can't confirm the situation and the prognosis going only by what you say and describe) If glaucoma has been concluded upon, you can not easily say that the Timalol is not working.. Why do I say so? The intraocular pressure(IOP) must be known before the drop regimen and after. The readings made after will indicate if IOP has reduced or not. Of course,we assume the drop is not fake. So bethor, walk up to another good clinic for 2nd opinion. By the way,has seeing double gone? Warmest 'M |
Am grateful. I will try the zenith and uba options. Thanks. |
How do I pay for facebook advert myself,so that I can monitor it |
Dear bethor: sorry am getting here late. You see by mere description from your own observartion for a very challenging problem like this, needs a very thorough clinical approach. I mean a proper differential daignosis. You have talked about a C type object in the eye. Which part of the eye, inside or outside? I believe the Ubth people had a better presentation than I am. If there was no solution from Ubth, what I will want you to do are 2 things. Dont be shy=as most patients are in Nigeria- ask the Ubth people: what is the diagnosis, what is the prognosis and why no relief? If you are not satisfied as you are here, seek another Ophtalmologist for a second opinion. Now let me tell you that the issue of double vision can be reversible but for the C object which I dont understand, this could be permanent. And again,if it is a problem with the retina,it is always a challenging affair especially if the macula the point for critical vision has been affected. My advice: a second opinion. Thanks M |

You have already answered your question. Please,go for a proper eye test before its too late. No eye specialist can do much for you on this platform except to refer. All the best |
Mrskem09. Let me start this way. It is very curious that the hospital if it is a specialised eye practice had cataract removal which could have only been done by an eye surgeon,in the first instance. And now such practice could not manage your post operative situation. Rather you are being asked to get further attention elsewhere. I hope the practice was competent in the first instance. Now assuming you know what cataract is, so if the opaque natural lens was removed, this modern time an intra ocular lens(IOL) of a power of about +10 is inserted as the bad natural one is removed, If there are no complications inside the eye etc then this is done. The eventual vision should be close to normal and the 2 eyes should work together to see singly and not double. But if the eye did not have an IOL, or you were not giving a reasonable high +lens for that eye(a 2nd option) double vision will take place. A plus power contact lens only for that eye is another option if the eye can feel not too irritated by it. The major challenge of monocular cataract removal is balancing the optics with the better eye to avoid diplopia(double vision) now you cant see well with it: the outside, black part (cornea)and the back of inside the eye (the light receiving section) the retina must be okay. Otherwise, the eye may not see better with glasses etc. So the eye doctor you'll see must check all these. If the eye appears to be coming out. Investigation for complication because of surgery or a situation is responsible. From what I can garner,a renewed examination is needed but I cannot say here what is the best that one could get from the eye. So get a good glasses not necessarily with power if you dont need it for the better eye. This is to have it as a barrier for the good one. No chances. They may block glasses lens of the operated eye to maintain single vision. Affordable clinic? Government hospitals but the long wait, 2 or 3months or so but visit them. I cant recommend private, expensive but good ones around. Say to them i want to see an ophtalmologists or a good optometrist to exam and refer you. Oops |
Why,why? !!! |
Olibyno: to the best of my knowledge, there is no known eye drop or liquid that eliminate a refractive error if thats what you have, when you your eye test. The analogy that comes to mind is this: if you were bound to be short person, you could increase your height only when you wear shoes with high heel. (though we know there is a risky surgery to give you some inches) So when your eyes trully demand lenses, you would see better when you wear the correct power as glasses or contact lenses. Please relax your mind,go for a proper eye exam. Let them check your lower lids as regards your excessive lacrimation. Lastly, the years of reading under subdued illumination has taken it toil, glasses may be calling to assist and not to "correct" Enjoy! |
This action is good for the sake of dignity. There was a time Prof Wole Soyinka was almost turned even though a formal i.v. For an event there. Let this be trumpeted loud, I hope the people in power should see that taking very good care and respecting their own people is a panacea against this irritating insults especially from a country like south african who were having free education in nigeria as one of our ways of being among the "front line" states during apartheid. Late sunny okosun did much. Nigerian leaders respect your own people and let the wealth go round. We are tired of this under siege, siren blaring culture as if all of us are animals. |
