Couple of things:

PS: My comments is for the Tech space.

1) Applying to 300 jobs and 100 decline. 12 interviews is pretty much a good stat

2) Markets hasn’t gotten saturated with lots of Indians, it’s always been that way.

3) Indians are not far ahead of you, they just have better information and embraces a sense of community.

4) Give high priority to how you package yourself, your resume should be high class. If you applying for a data analyst role, let your resume show past experience as a data analyst not data admin etc as your screenshot says. It dosent matter if you have the experience or not. Nothing is stopping you from having 5yrs exp as a Sr Data Analyst in a top tech firm in Nigeria before relocating (dosent matter if you have it or not, you get what I’m saying).

5) Uplevel your skills in the field you are going. You don’t need to pay for those $1k clases. You can DIY learning on Udemy for $10

6) Certification in not needed in Data Analysis or any high end analytics role (DE, DS, MLE etc).

7) have various resume of various job tittle with directly relatable quantified experience

8 ) If you in school, hunt for internships. Job hunting should be an integral part of your productivity. Set a goal to apply to >50 daily. Before you start applying complete number 4.

9) Don’t be limited to a single job family. What your degree is in, dosent hold more weight that your work experience. Your work experience is what you make it to be. Spread your search to other tech roles that dosent require SME knowledge (e.g Scrum, Project Manager etc)

10. Network network network. LinkedIn, LinkedIn, LinkedIn.

11. Applying to 300 jobs and 100 decline. 12 interviews is pretty much a good stat

That’s said, I don’t live in the UK, and I have never been to the UK either (I like in the States). It won’t take a big lift to get a >£100k job with sponsorship if I have the interest.

Happy to give more information to anyone willing to break into the Tech space, no dm’s will answer any question here if I am needed.

Thanks

Thanks alot for this..
I have a BSc degree in computer science from Nigeria and am about to apply for masters degree in UK. My question is amongst data analysis and artificial intelligence. Which is in demand? Which of them will be more easier for me to get a good job after graduation and build a career.

Good morning everyone...

I really don't know what to do any more . I applied for study permit on 11th November, 2023. My medical was passed dec 13th 2023. Uptill now there has been no update from IRCC. My application is almost 12 weeks now.

I have sent series of emails and webform and the response is always . My application is undergoing processing. On Monday I got another reply that it is with Rapid response office in Canada.
Is there any thing I can do at this point please? Kindly share...

Compliment of the season...

I summitted my study permit application since November 11th 2023 and I have not gotten a decision from IRCC. I am supposed to resume Jan 8 which is also the dead line for tution payment to retain the adminision.

I wrote to my school Red deer polytechnic for deferal to spring term and they replied that my program is not available for spring. And although it is available for the next term but adminsion into the program which is computer programming is on wait-list.

I'm so confused right now... I need advice on what to do next . Has anyone be In this situation before?

Has anyone sent additional supporting documents for study permit application via email to IRCC?
Was it acknowledge and added to your file?

When I decided to try Canada, I never thought study route was for me due to age. Until one day on this forum I read a post of a 50 year old who was granted study permit. My course is Global Business Management different from my undergraduate degree (Law).

First study permit application:
After I submitted my application, i realised that it would not fly due to one lump sum payment of 14M credited to my account 5 days before i printed out my statement. The account had low opening balance. Even though I pinned it in my SOP as payment for sale of land with sale agreement, I was not convinced due to GCMS notes I read later on this forum where VO made comments on lump sum desposits as reason for refusal. I saw that some persons were able to convince VO but I know say my case be one kind. So I jeje withdrew the application to avoid stories that touch. I first withdrew my admission for September 2023 intake as my school does not defer and due to time needed to work on my account, I applied and was admitted to same school for Spring 2024 intake.

First application Timeline
Submission: 21st April, 2023
Withdrawal request: 30th April, 2023
Request approved: 3rd June, 2023
(I applied for GCMS notes via ATIP on 10th June and received it on 7th July. In the note there was a comment that Certicate of Incorporation included but no particulars of Director or Proprietor. So in my second application, I included that)

I left the 14M in my account as opening balance and worked on the account for 4 months. I tried as much as possible to avoid lump sum deposits and withdrawals. The introduction of I & E window showed me shege.

Second application
Submission: 14th August, 2023
Upfront Medical : 16th August, 2023
Biometrics: 17th August, 2023 ( updated 18th August, 2023) as completed)
Applied for CBSA notes: 30th August, 2023 (to know the status of medical)
Upfront Medical passed: 11th September, 2023
On 19th September, 2023: Sent several webforms and emails to Nairobi and London. Only London responded that it's office is not processing my application. I got just the generic response from Nairobi

I read here too that enquiries by MP triggers IRCC to process delayed application so on Saturday, 23rd September, 2023, i sent mails to 4 MP's. I got response on monday. 2 responded that they can only attend to people within their riding and one sent a mail that IRCC was contacted on my behalf that my application was under review and within processing time. I come say make I rest until after the 7th week I refire again.

Surprisingly on 27th September, 2023 that same week eligibility review started and that same day I received a mail to forward identification for cbsa note. I forwarded immediately.
Passport request: 29th September, 2023
Bvl: 29th September, 2023

CBSA note not yet received.

Documents submitted.
My Firstbank MBS 4 months
FCMB MBS joint account
Zenith domicilary account MBS for my Common Law Partner ( He is part of my hometie)

Lease Agreement and receipt for rental of my landed Property.
SOP
Certificate of Incorporation for my Common Law Partner

Application for admission and study permit done by me with so much help and resources from this platform. Although it was an herculean task but I give God all the glory.

Can I use statement from a different bank account to show POF for study permit after a refusal or must it be statement from the account I used for the first application. The 2 account in question is for the principal applicant.

Someone told me that I can't apply for gcms notes from Nigeria and get it . He said is either someone in Canada or outside Nigeria apply for me.

Please house how true is this?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Mhenmen: 5:45pm On Sep 23, 2023
zubizareta:

This one na real complicated movement of funds. In your next application, you will just have to demonstrate availability of the money by making a reasonable school expense.

The amount showed might not be the issue. The issues are:
What supporting docs did you show to explain the last 20m lump sum that entered your sponsor acct? What docs did u show source of his monies?
This and many more.
Just wait for your gcms notes before you tackle this.

In my SOP I stated that my sponsor is into real estate . I attached few documents of land he sold and bought as evidence and also CAC for his business.
When the person transferred the sum to him he started in the naration that it was payment for land and this showed in his statement.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Mhenmen: 5:22pm On Sep 23, 2023
I have been a silent reader...
Thanks to everyone that is keeping the thread on...

I got adminsion Into red deer polytechnic Alberta for a 2year diploma program
I applied for study permit with my dad as my sponsor.
The estimated tution for the full program is 30419cad
I paid compulsory tution deposit of 1400cad
I summited my personal account showing 20m transferred to me by my sponsor.
I deed a gift deed, affidavit and sponsor letter to explain this lump sum and the purpose which is to Carter for my first year tution and living expenses.
I also summited my sponsor bank statement showing bal of 48m and I explained in the sponsor letter that he is going to be responsible for the second year tution and living expenses.

I applied for a study permit and got refused on the bases of "your financial situation and asset is insufficient "

I have applied for gcms notes and I'm planning to reapply immidiately it comes

My concerns now is

-How much funds do I need to show that will be sufficient for my new application

-After printing my statement I transferred the 20m out of my account to someone who sent it to my sponsor to make up the 48m he showed in his statement. (That amount was needed by someone that wanted to use his statement also) After printing his statement the 20m was transferred back to me.
Can I and my sponsor still use same account for my new application as the dates where the money was moved out from my account and paid back by my sponsor will show in the new statement. Although the sum has stayed in my account for over a month and still counting
Will this not be a red flag ?
