Family / Re: How Do You Manage Your Finances As A Couple? by mhm(m): 1:14pm On Apr 19, 2013
It really depends on individual circumstances. In my case for instance, I earn much much mire than my wife. So we calculated the total amount required for the month and i transfer to a joint account monthly. she manages this account.

The story would have been different if we earned about the same or if I was unable to meet the financial commitments.

parki: That's what you get from acquiring Liabilities as possessions. Liabilities are in no way good. Instead of them to enrich you, they zap and drain you.

I feel bad that the car has been stolen but he should have invested the money wisely by buying a smaller less attractive car and the rest of the money, channelled into a project would generate more money for him.

I used to think like you, and I was investing everything I had and as a result denying myself the little luxuries, then the stock market and general economy tanked. I look back at the people I used to laugh at cos they were not investing and realize that a couple of them are still richer than me. So I would say invest but find time to enjoy the money

ihope the authorities can support this action with cogent reason for the withdrawal. did they not pass through aggressive tests before being re issued their license? many airlines the world over do unfortunately have accidents, the key action is to try to identify the cause and ensure that measures are put to prevent a re ccurence. just yesterday I watched a documentary on the crash of a British airways aircraft just a couple of years ago, fault was accumulation of ice in the fueling system. this has been rectified on all boeing 777's.

I hope this decision was not made purely on emotions.

dilly dallying president.

he should have stuck to his guns and say due process should be followed.

how can you lead a country whose major problem is corruption, then claim to be fighting corruption and show so much reluctance to pursue corrupt people? he has been accused, has been running away from defending himself and all you say is that you will not order his sack or at least ask that he is thoroughly investigated.

he is either on the 'take' or is terribly scared of those behind the scam.

let's

let's work on the assumption that she slept with the donors, don't you think she could have deided to use the money to buy herself a car, or other luxury items? she instead embarked upon the project for Corp members to utilise after she would have left the state. That to me is worthy of commendation, irrespective of how she got the money. as long as she did not steal or defraud someone.

I think I studied it because my parents and uncles were all engineers, and funny enough I actually graduated at the top of my class. however upon graduation the jobs I kept getting were not engineering related. so hence the deviation, it wasn't really a choice to deviate.

but looking back now at what my friends do in engineering, I don't miss it. I just guess that I have a preference for jobs of a commercial nature, selling, finance etc.

not to say that engineering is not also a very good profession oh

Show me one bank NOW IN NIGERIA, that isn't involved in one shady deal or the other under SLS watch? Even Access bank if I'm correct was involved in a dirty deal with Mr. Cosmas Maduka and Ifeanyi Uba. Abeg, let's leave all that shady matter, even in the U.S., it common norm, you can never weed out shady deals in banks.

Yes Soludo did not reinforce regulation like it should, they've learned but for you to make that as an excuse is just ridic. My point is, even after SLS clean up, there are still banks that are ILL, they are financially SICK. Was it not last week that Savannah and another bank almost declared bankruptcy, asking CBN for a N20 or N200 billion injection of another cash?

Financial market around the world had their issues, even here in the U.S., few went under, many were rescued while a few were merged with others. Today, they are doing very well, lending has improved, and the financial market are gradually resuscitating.

However, in the case of Nigeria, perhaps, only 3/4 banks are more so healthy, others are literally flying blind... Like I once said, when SLS leave, we shall compare and contrast the damage done to the banks. It's only after someone's term that you can fully evaluate their efficiency, til then, I'll reserve my greatest criticism.

Health / Re: My Experience With A Quack Doctor by mhm(m): 12:18am On Oct 11, 2012
well I do understand that the doctors would like to defend their colleagues. acceptable.

but what would you expect me to conclude, I had a condition over a period of almost two years, In all I saw 13 separate doctors, including a prof in Luth. some were quick to tell me they had no idea what my problem was, however some others kept on prescribing all sorts of drugs including high doses of cotecosteroids ( forgive me if the spelling is wrong). one of them told me I was getting better by just looking at me with no tests even when I told him that the symptoms were getting worse. another told me that I was cured and had psychological issues : imagining that I was still ill. others were prescribing pain killers, without attacking the cause.

fed up with everything I went abroad, within a week I was diagnosed with cancer, the tumor was massive. to cut a long story short, I am now on the path of recovery after agressive treatment by the powers of GOD. I shudder at the thought of what would have happened if I had continued with the Nigerian doctors.

in all, I understand that we cannot generalize but seriously what do you want someone like me to think?

seriously what does it matter what her age is? she says she is 32 take it like that instead of worrying your brains cos I don't see what difference it would make if she is 32 or 82. in addition, marriage is personal, so I don't think we shouldn't be drumming it in all the time. my respects to her for doing something really great for herself.

Happy Birthday Linda.

you are correct. If you waste time while typing the numbers, you'll sometimes get INVALID TOKEN.

#Meaning they age

I doubt that's the way the token works, I am in south Africa and use the token. How does the gtb server know when I have pressed my token. It does not transmit any signal. So actually in principle, if he writes the codes down and uses them in the sequence they appeared then it should work.

When it comes to cars, I respect your superior authority. And will agree with anything you say.

I guess my point is that from my own experience, the same way I cared or my Japanese carsis sesame way I cared for my German cars but found that the German cars gave me more trouble. So yes, I agree the suspect is e mechanics. Those guys are ca wreckers.

All inqll though, I must confess that the German cars were much more pleasurable

if you are a car enthusiast then i think the german cars will tickle your fancy.
for me, i just need a car for mobility and over the years i have used both japanese and german cars. if like me you just need mobility just stick with the japanese cars as those german machines will give you high blood pressure. our mechanics are not up to scratch, their parts are too expensive and they seem to break down too foten.

Career / Re: How Much Should Entry Level Graduates Be Paid In Nigeria? by mhm(m): 8:06am On Sep 09, 2011
Based on the analysis given with respect to GDP and the state of our country, it would be fair to say Graduates should start earning at about 80k. However, due to the very high levels of corruption, we have people with access to easy cash pushing the price of living through the roof.

Take for example, if we all earned reasonable allowances and graduates start off earning 80K and everyone else earned reasonable staggered salaries, then nobody should be able to afford a plot of land for N50 Million naira. The cost of living would be within range but with the current realities, 80K wont take an emoloyee anywhere really!
