Try Expedia again or Skyscanner App hotels

Most Hotels in the City center always do that.

You dont upload anything. Everything you need to submit should be neatly seperated and submitted on the day of your Appointment.

Print out your Bank statement before you go for submission.

Please check 2 months from December 21, 2021. If there's a delay with this dated letter reaching you till today 7th March 2022.

You need to understand the French bureaucracy when it comes to Appeals.

Anyways , reapply when you are ready.

esdajo:
I'm afraid I don't think so. The acknowledgment letter was sent out 4 days after the appeal was delivered and the acknowledgement letter states if we dont hear from them after 2 months of receipt of the appeal. It appears the result of the appeal would be communicated separately if it is successful and if we dont hear within the specified period of 2 months, it means it was rejected...two separate things entirely. The acknowledgemnt letter itself took almost 2 months and 2 weeks to be delivered to us and I suppose it would take a while for the matter to be adjudicated upon and not within 4 days. Whether the appeal was successful or not is yet to be known but an acknowledgement letter does not mean a rejection letter as it would have been clearly communicated in the letter that it has been rejected.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by mialate: 7:52pm On Mar 07, 2022
Your Appeal was Rejected as well.

They are simply saying that the Decision taken before remains the same and not Overturned.

Better you reapply whenever you are ready but remember to work on the point stated.

quote author=esdajo post=110834259]Good day everyone,

So my family were denied France tourist visas last November and we decided to appeal the decision and sent the appeal and the supporting documents to France last December. Today we got a letter from France acknowledging the receipt of our appeal and part of the letter after translation reads: "In the absence of an express response from the commission within a period of two months from the date of receipt of the appeal mentioned above, the appeal is deemed to be rejected for the same reasons as those of the contested decision".

The appeal was received in France on December 17 and the letter we received today was dated December 21, 2021. Can anyone who has gone through this process before enlighten me more on this? Is this a good sign? Should we expect another letter in the mail or can we just simply go ahead and reapply whenever we are ready to give it a shot? Your responses would be highly appreciated.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by mialate: 11:25am On Mar 07, 2022
You can be given 1 year Type D , but the reason stated for requesting must be valid and very convincing.

Which you cannot break the 90/180 rule.

Example- if i apply for a tourist visa to visit france in April and i will need to go on a Personal short course sometime in June to August etc. Its a continuous need to be in France .

If you request isnt satisfactory to them ,you may grant you a lesser period.

Kajolplus:
It is possible under long stay. But under short stay, well.........

Let the person tells the house if it is short or long stay.

But schengen rule says tourist can only stay for 90 days.
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by mialate: 10:00pm On Mar 06, 2022
If you have just 1 planned trip for 2022 then its 9days( going by the example)

If you have more planned trips for 2022 then Enter the total number of days of your stay in the Schengen area. If you are planning several consecutive stays, calculate the total number of days of your different stays. The duration of stay must not exceed 90 days per half-year.

Its 2022.

Gentlesoul3268:
Mialate pls what about planned duration of stay in number of days ? is it for the immediate trip which we are going for e.g 9th April to 18th April 2022, that's 9 days is the planned duration of stay in number of days right ?

In the coming year here means any travel plans for 2022 to France that you may have already planned ahead ( Do you mean 2022 here or 2023?)
[b]

Sorry for too much of questions mialate

TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by mialate: 1:00pm On Mar 05, 2022
Doesnt Matter. You are good ....

quote author=meljoe post=110770145]

Okay I understand now

So buying 1 month travel insurance though I’m staying for 2 weeks doesn’t matter right ?
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by mialate: 12:33pm On Mar 05, 2022
The flight reservation you will submit to VFS...

If you are staying for 2 weeks and you bought a one month insurance then your flight reservation from lagos to france to the US to lagos should show you are staying in france for 2 weeks. If it doesnt tally , the VFS staff vetting will request for a new one.

Your hotel booking should also show 2 weeks stay.

Flight Reservation Example

LOS- CDG - 7th- 21st
CDG - JFK - 21st - whenever you are staying
JFK - LOS- you decide.

Dont mix it up.

quote author=meljoe post=110768509]

Oh wow , Thank GOD I haven’t submitted yet

Because I wrote 2 weeks already but I’m buying 1 month insurance

I will change it to 1 month now

But 1 month is it not much for a Easter holiday plus I’m still going to the USA from there ?
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by mialate: 11:34am On Mar 05, 2022

You can use Booking.com if expedia isnt working ...

meljoe:
Please Expedia is showing me this below ? What do I do and is booking.com okay or Expedia is better ?
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by mialate: 11:01am On Mar 05, 2022
Congrats.. though you have some good history i believe this is your first Schengen visa, if yes then start with this and in the next application request for a longer period backed with some reasons for a longer duration.

Example: A longer period can be some Tourism and business trips inbetween for say 3months or 6months or 1 year but you have to request for it and prove it.

As for the future date, was this the date you filled as the planned date of arrival to the Schengen region?

unclepauly:
Futher to the below, UPS delivered my passport today and I got the Visa but I do not understand why they apporved just 30 days (Multiple entry) and for a future date.

TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by mialate: 12:22pm On Mar 04, 2022
Your Biometrics date is 11th Oct .

12th Oct as shown on the receipt is the acceptance payment slip issued the next day after biometrics when it gets to the French Embassy for processing.

Ie- Email/sms- Application has been forwarded to the French Embassy for processing( You understand now)

Thats why it comes back with your passport irrespective the outcome of the visa .
