Webmasters › Re: How Important Is Alexa Ranking To Website Owners And Advertisers? by micawber(m): 6:37am On Nov 09, 2011
@Poster,
I understand where you are coming from, and maybe where you are heading to. Alexa is a very nice tool to both webmasters and advertisers world wide.

It tells the webmaster the position he occupy in the "www-community", advises you on some broken/malfunctioning tools on your site(premium users though). etc

To the advertisers, of course you have to be convinced that the website has visitors (audience) before you consider advert with them. Alexa tells you the estimate of site traffic and possibility of catching up your target audience of every advert.

Alexa is important, though my scholarship blog isn't rating high yet, but i have hope. My blog gives updates from across African school campuses and scholarships for Africans. Launched barely two weeks ago. Check it out below!

Business › What Paying Online Biz Can I Start With 100k? by micawber(op): 6:17am On Nov 09, 2011
Not as though i need the dough quick, but am kind of thinking of what to do with some little change i have got right now. I saved some little chips which i originally wanted to use to advertize my website. But on a second thought, what if i advertize with this cash and it turned out bad? In other words, How sure am I that google adsense will save me in the near future say maybe in 8months?

I need advise, should i go ahead and run a hundred thousand naira worth of ads for publicity of my website or should i look for something else to do with the 100k?

Learned business men in the house should please help me.

Thanks a lot.

When it comes to traffic generation, many affiliates and other website owners tend to get stock in a comfortable rut. We often use a small number of favorite techniques and rarely venture beyond them. if you haven’t reached a million visits in six month, you should find this report useful. The eBook will help you actualize that your dream and earn thousands and millions of dollar from your site.http://www.moneylinknet.com/index.php/ebooks.html
Well the idea is good. But over-blown i think. I am getting to see a lot of ways of building this traffic thing and of course they are throwing me to confusion.

As we all know, it takes two to make a marriage, and it takes two to break it, you mustn't forget that!

And for those who won't marry a woman from a broken home, I say too bad!  The world is full of them, what are you going to do about it??

What about a guy from a broken home? Is he also included in this assertion or?  And may I ask, would he ever marry someone?

I could hear some unfair people on here, saying why not?  Ahrrrrrrrr, double-standard stairing up once again!

What is exchange by the way?
Answers from Wiki,

, According to the U.S. government, foreign exchange programs exist to provide certain international cultural exchange programs designed to provide practical training and employment, and sharing of the history, culture, and traditions of participants home country citing the Q series international cultural exchange visa's specifications as provided by the U.S. department of state.[citation needed]

The term “exchanges” means that partnered institution exchange their student but not necessarily the students have to find a counterpart from the other institution to exchange with. No tradeoff is actually required. Two types of student exchange program are international and national student exchange program. A student exchange programs could be joined either by the secondary school or university student excluding National Student Exchange where it is design primarily for university student studying in American continent and its territory.[citation needed]

An exchange student could live with a host family or in a designated place including hostels, affordable apartment/house or student lodge. The cost for each program differs according to countries and institution. The participants could either apply/receive scholarship, self-funded or apply/receive loan,

So tell me in history of the where exchange is sponsored by a governor? Okorocha should face what he was voted for and stop playing on some lay ignorance!

How is sending students on exchange program a waste of resources?  How many of you work with the Imo state govt to know how the fund for this program was raised?

So, you want evidence? From who exactly? From an innocent student who came in here to enlighten you on the criteria for the selection based on his experience and transparency of the program or do you want it from Okorocha himself? If you want evidence why not go to the imo state govt house and request for official documents to that effect or have you forgotten the FOI bill?
Of course you knew because you have been employed to stay online and pass fake info.
Not innocent, hired e-thug, be specific.
Was the bill made for Imo international exchange programme?

People are just impossible! Some reasoning can simply be nauseating! Whatever one does, people will find motive to criticize the rationale behind it; not that this is in itself intrinsically bad, yet some non-constructive criticism are evil. Even India and China currently pushing ahead positively on world economic chart simply cannot resolve completely issues of poverty in their respective countries, neither can they do so in the next hundred years; there's so much poverty in the USA than many can imagine. Here's a guy who decided to invest in human recourse, yet armchair critics find fault with it. Let someone tell these critics that our fathers sold lands and other community property to send some of their children abroad and to high institutions. They did not change the world with their gesture but they were intelligent enough to invest in human recourse. Some of these sponsored brethren were lost to the white man but many came back to invested! Chinua achebe mentioned these noble  ideals in his Books. Rochas may not be able to change the entire world of IMO State but I still believe that since Mbakwe, who also could not change the world of IMO State due to obvious constraints, yet both men are/have impacted lives in IMO State. Owelle Rochas abeg carry go! Opposition is part of democracy, so don't be distracted.
Do you know the number of youths (students) in Imo state? Parents strive to pay school fees to sustain students in school here in Imo, and Rochas gave out a whole lot of about N70,000,000.00 (if well converted) to sponsor foreign trip for just 60 students (politicians' children).

Grow up! and grow wise!! before you turn to a f.o.o.l

Again .  . . .

You have made some really strong claims on this issue. Now, think and figure out how you convince people who do not have any bleeping idea who you are, can be convinced that you are for real.

If someone comes into a room and tells you that if you stayed 24 more hours in that particular room, you would get 1 million naira, I know you, as a human being with a living brain, you would question that persons claims and even go as far as to request evidence of any sort to ascertain that claims made are true.

So far most other posters have only made frivolous claims of this scheme. You on the other hand caught my interest as you proceeded to make some definitely claims, in some way expecting us to take you more seriously than the many others on here. You have my attention--- feel free to convince us that you are not just a misguided youth sitting in front of a computer somewhere, having a field day lying to other internet users. grin

@Kobojunkie. . . What solid evidence do you want again? Why do you think I'm telling lies? I'm for real, I am not from this state, I am just a mere student that has come here to struggle for a better tomorrow for myself therefore I can't tell lies. You can check all my past posts/comments on this site, I've helped alot of prospective students of the Imo state uni. gained admission into this institution by rendering selfless service to them all. Once more, I've got nothing to gain here by telling lies but if you don't believe me forget about it all.
Like father like son. Does someone who got merit score require admission help? That is how you people run the govt in our dear state. You should rather be ashamed of what you are saying.

The problem I have with you is that, either your gray matter is too small, or it is wrongly wired.

Do you know what an Exchange program is? Perhaps you should find out. When you do, you will understand why it is a whole new level for Imo State, if not Nigeria.

Every right thinking individual will encourage their leaders to pay more attention, not just to the quantity but also the quality of education. If the Exchange program is the acme of quality education, then so be it. In anycase, your pea sized brain is already wired to think that quality education and exchange program begins and end in the US.

Lol, 2015 has not begun indeed. Tell that to the marines!

@Kobojunkie. . . What evidence do you want? I am not a native of Imo State, so I stand to gain nothing. Students with CGPA of over 3.0 - 4.99 were selected with recommendation from the lecturers, HOD and DEAN OF FACULTY. Most of them are my course mate and I can authoritatively tell you that their academic performance are very encouraging.  However, if you're not satisfied with my assertions above you can take a trip down to the University to see further prove. I can take you to my HOD and most of the beneficiaries to prove my point. @micawber. . . Please, can I understand your point of view? Are you implying that I'm telling lies? Can you explain more?
It is too, i mean very early enough for Rochas to start with online thugs. We know about this in the recent history of IMO politics. Referring to me makes your defence for Rochas more open to criticism. The person you address (Myself) is a true son of the land, and cannot be deceived even when others accept to be deceived. The same Governor that was at Imsu on Friday last week to initiate internal fund generation strategy from IMSU sponsored 60 students with over N66m to US. Who are you people cunnnig?

Rochas said Education will be free to tertiary level,
>Yet He diverted all good secondary schools to Mission.
>IMSU acceptance fees is still N50,000.
>School fees was not reduced both in IMSU and IMOPY.
>Banks were shut-down for one full week in IMO.
>Nekede/FUTO road remain impassable.
>YOuths loiter in search of jobs.

I made a request from you. I am here in Works layout, Tell me the schools, and departments. You said your "coursemates" were among? Just tel;l me their department. Do you know how many people between CPGA of 3.0-4.+ in FUTO, and IMSU? In FUTO alone you could get as much as 500 with 4.0+

Stop e-thuggery, we know you guys!

@boneruns. . . The process was genuine and transparent, there was no nepotism or any form of favoritism during the selection process. I am a student of the state university, most of the beneficiaries are my course mates and they're doing very well academically. I am not a native of Imo State, the program may not be the best for now but I believe the Governor is trying to encourage hardwork, academic performance and most of all investing in humans by making the poor meaningful in the society. I'm trying to let boneruns and many others know that the process was clean, despite it being capital intensive for the state at this moment.
Interesting, Am actually writing from Works Layout, very close to the school gate. A lot of IMSU starts are also here in my lodge, dost drop down the name of your department here and your level if you don't mind. I will be there first thing in the morning to prove you right, or wrong. I wonder why your names was not among the selected students.

I would rather spend 2 years searching for a genuine oversea scholarship than wait for Okrocha's unrealizable promises!

According to Wiki-
Burke's definition of man states: "Man is the symbol-using (symbol-making, symbol-misusing) animal, inventor of the negative (or moralized by the negative), separated from his natural condition by instruments of his own making, goaded by the spirit of hierarchy (or moved by the sense of order), and rotten with perfection".[2] Essentially, Burke's definition maintains that man is distinct from other creatures by the virtue of his use of symbols to communicate, his understanding of negation, his separation from nature by his own techniques, his existence in differing social structures, and his goal to become better than he presently is.

According to Webster-
a (1) : an individual human; especially : an adult male human (2) : a man belonging to a particular category (as by birth, residence, membership, or occupation) —usually used in combination <councilman> (3) : husband (4) : lover
