I think your further explanations have really clarify things. Believe me, I wouldn't like to drag this issue more than necessary, but would only look forward to a more "innovative" topics.

However, going through your last response, I discovered that the bone of contention between you & I is more of "point of view" or if you like, "angle of observation" as Hilsocial rightly pointed out.

But, one last thing...., I want you to get it that right from when this argument started, my points/comments have always been on the context of what or which projects qualify to be called an "invention/innovation" and that was why I gave the example of the corper & his mystery helicopter (pls, pardon my choice of words).

My humble friend, my one question for you is that: Do you think that that corper's helicopter should be group under an invention/innovation? Despite the fact that the helicopter consumes much fuel & can't fly without being push and also, going by your "rebranding" definition of innovation.

However, not to put you in perturbation, i asked my little cousin what the word ''innovation'' means and he empirically said, '' innovation is the act or process of introducing new things, such as ideas, methods, device, e.t.c'' *clapping for my lil cousin*

*There is a distinction between innovating & assembling. The corper only succeded in assembling different parts of a/(an) helicopter. So, he may be employed base on his assembling skills/expertise/experience*

To remind you also, we have a lot of innovation grants in Nigeria, such as GEMS, YOUWIN, EFINA, World Bank Grants, PTDF, PRESSID and so on.

I had a project.... It was all about making an iron or steel not to get rusted!... I went through a lot to ensure that I had a successful outcome... I cordially had a colleague from CRUTECH whose project was to construct a train... Now he had wanted designing a train that will be able to move under the water...

So after a semester...I changed to nuclear physics....I studied nuclear reactions..... On the department of physics...I was able postulate few other elements...that could be use for explosions! Just two other elements..from the standard periodic table.... Don't get me wrong.... I was out of time...I had to copy out most of the works from a friend studying outside the country!

Come to think of it; who will waste his/her fund on a project that is not viable? Or perhaps, that lacks originality. Mind you, most of the projects our graduates (or inventors) portray as inventions are merely a replicate of what had been hitherto invented.

For example, a while ago, I read in the paper that a corper buith an Helicopter. I mean, for crying out loud, who doesn't know that a/(an) helicopter already exist?!? And to make the matter worst, he have to push the helicopter for like a mile, if not even more, to power up the blade (hahahaha, see wahala!) And the rate of fuel consumption is what Babatawa calls " Allah yai sa"

My point is: the funds are there. And to only those projects that meet the conventional criterials of being Original and Viable.
