You cannot reap without sowing. That is the rule by which people become rich. That is the way of this universe. You don't have to be a Christian to be wealthy. Read Ecclesiastes to understand Solomon's thoughts on wealth. Who said both gentlemen didn't tithe?

NB Paying tithe is not about wealth.

Can you kindly show us where God commands Christians to pay tithe?

Ok.....so do you mean that God had destined for Hezekiah to die at that particular time only for him to change the time for him to die? If yes, does that mean that people who die from terrorism today has been destined by God to die that way?

What I am saying is that what brings wealth is a form of sacrifice or investment which could be anything. Strategic enough to bear fruits at an appointed time.

Criticism of tithing should stop. Pastors should carry reorientation of their members that tithing these days is not necessarily biblical but a measure to support the propagation of the gospel.
Churches power their facilities and maintain equipped. They pay some hands to do this. They go for evangelism and even run charity. The funds for these can come from tithing amongst others. This is the particular reason I pay what looks like tithing but not necessarily tithing. It is just to support the propagation of the gospel.

What of pastors who claim that if you don't pay tithe, You will be poor, windows will not open and that those who don't pay will go to hell fire? Are they not forcing their members to pay with such teachings?

But don't underestimate the role of sacrifice. I mean strategic sacrifice. They call it investing.

If you want to get riches of the world then you sacrifice/invest

I tithe and the reason is that church needs money to run, fuel generators, pay workers etc not because of pastors ..

And my church isn’t one of those one-Man owned Daddy Go churches that manages inflow and outflow with wives and children as signatories

Tithing is personal. I don't pay it but won't criticize anyone who does. If you believe in it , who am I to stop you and if you don't,who am I to compel you. Do anything that works for you

But many pastors do not agree that tithing should be a personal decision. They threatened their members with hell fire or poverty If they refuse to pay tithe.
