I am agnostic, I left religion after realizing that they are never willing to answer any question with facts.
They always want one to accept whatever they have to say without reason. That didn’t seem right to me then I started digging to find answers myself, I discovered that religion is about age long lies and deceit to control people.

It's not something that happens instantly. It's a gradual process. Could take months or years.
At first you might become angry or annoyed when you see criticisms about your religion. You know those criticisms are valid but you try to fight it off because you don't want to feel like you've believed a lie your whole life. Then you become curious and start listening to both sides, see which one makes more sense.
Once you start seeing reasons in those criticisms, your mind opens up gradually. You won't admit at that time that you're an atheist, but you'd know you have lost a lot of faith in your beliefs. Well, that's for me Sha.
And I've been happier ever since.

This question might not be for me.

I was born a Christian, then I turned to an atheist, then I switched to a theist.

I believe there's a God, but I don't believe I need to belong to any religion to follow that God.

I left Christianity because of the discrepancies in the Bible.

The Bible has been written and translated so much that the original text is gone.

Now what we have is a bunch of bullcrap.

I stopped being an atheist and became a theist because I know there's a God.

Speaking of religion, I've joined the religion of my forefathers; African traditional religion.

The purest form there is.

If you initially believed that the bible was the word of God, do you think that it would go out of existence or become corrupt?

I did an objective comparison between reality and my beliefs, I realised that if I wasn't already biased to believe a specific set of beliefs, I would have no real reason to believe.

But to sum it up, it all started with one question, which led to another question, which led to a plethora of questions.

And it also wasn't a sudden or overnight thing. I first went from being a fundamentalist Christian, to a more liberal kind, and then to a Christian deist, before finally becoming “agnostic"

What made you become agnostic.

When I hear christians speak it is now so obvious that they are unable or unwilling to reason.
