These Prayers and these Promises have been copied from a book printed in Toulouse in 1740 and published by the P. Adrien Parvilliers of the Company of Jesus, Apostolic Missionary of the Holy Land, with approbation, permission and recommendation to distribute them.

Parents and teachers who will read them to young infants for at least one year will assure their being preserved for life from any grave accident which would involve the loss of one of their five senses.
Pope Pius IX took cognizance of these Prayers with the prologue; he approved them May 31, 1862, recognizing them as true and for the good of souls.

This sentence of Pope Pius IX has been confirmed by the realization of promises by all persons who have recited the prayers and by numerous supernatural facts by which God wanted to make known their exact truth. A collection of small books, these prayers among them, was approved by the Great Congress of Malines on August 22, 1863.

Question -- Must one recite the Prayers everyday without interruption to obtain the privilages?

Answer -- One should miss saying them as few times as possible; but if for a serious reason one is obliged to miss them, one doesn't lose the privileges attached to them, as long as one recites 5480 prayers during the year. One must say them with devotion and concentrate on the words one pronounces.

These prayers can serve as the Way of the Cross.
Visitors to the Church of St. Paul at Rome can see the crucifix, above the Tabernacle in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, sculptured by Pierre Cavallini, before which St. Bridget knelt when she received these 15 Prayers from Our Lord. The following inscription is placed in the church to commemorate the event: "Pendentis, Pendente Dei verba accepit aure accipit et verbum corde Brigitta Deum. Anno Jubilei MCCCL", which recalls the prodigy with which the crucifix conversed with Bridget.

As St. Bridget for a long time wanted to know the number of blows Our Lord received during His Passion, He one day appeared to her and said:
"I received 5480 blows on My Body. If you wish to honor them in some way, recite fifteen times the Our Father and Hail Mary, together with the following prayers, which I Myself will teach you for an entire year. When the year is finished, you will have honored each of My Wounds."

Our Lord made the following promises to anyone who recited the fifteen Saint Bridget Prayers devoutly every day for a whole year:

5. 15 days before his death, I will give him My Precious Body in order that he may escape eternal starvation; I will give him my Precious Blood to drink lest he thirst eternally.

6. 15 days before his death he will feel a deep contrition for all his sins and will have a perfect knowledge of them.

7. I will place before him the sign of My Victorious Cross for his help and defense against the attacks of his enemies.

8. Before his death I shall come with My Dearest Beloved Mother.

9. I shall graciously receive his soul, and will lead it into eternal joys.

10. And having led it there I shall give him a special draught from the fountain of My Deity, something I will not do for those who have not recited My Prayers.

11. Let it be known that whoever may have been living in a state of mortal sin for 30 years, but who will recite devoutly, or have the intention to recite these Prayers, I the Lord will forgive him all his sins.

12. I shall protect him from strong temptations.

13. I shall preserve and guard his five senses.

14. I shall preserve him from a sudden death.

15. His soul will be delivered from eternal death.

16. He will obtain all he asks for from God and the Blessed Virgin.

17. If he has lived all his life doing his own will and he is to die the next day, his life will be prolonged.

18. Every time one recites these Prayers he gains 100 days indulgence.

19. He is assured of being joined to the supreme Choir of Angels.

20. Whoever teaches these prayers to another will have continual joy and merit which will last throughout eternity.

21. There where these Prayers are being said or will be said in the future, God is present with His grace.

First Prayer

Our Father - Hail Mary.
O Jesus Christ! Eternal Sweetness to those who love Thee, joy surpassing all joy and all desire, Salvation and Hope of all sinners, Who hast proved that Thou hast no greater desire than to be among men, even assuming human nature at the fullness of time for the love of men, recall all the sufferings Thou hast endured from the instant of Thy conception, and especially during Thy Passion, as it was decreed and ordained from eternity in the Divine plan.

Remember, O Lord, that during the Last Supper with Thy disciples having washed their feet, Thou gavest them Thy Most Precious Body and Blood, and while at the same time Thou didst sweetly console them, Thou didst fortell them Thy coming Passion.

Remember the sadness and bitterness which Thou didst experience in Thy Soul as Thou Thyself bore witness saying: "My Soul is sorrowful even unto death."

The switchboard manager is one of the features of a form object in MS Access that is used to control the records in a database. It creates a form or user interface that will used to access other objects of the database. You can always customize the switchboard to your own taste. Switchboard manager is used create buttons which will be used to open forms, and pages and exit the objects in a database. It makes your database behave like a software application of its own. In this tutorial part, I will give you a step by step guide on how to design a powerful and functional switchboard and show you how to customize tabs, Quick Access toolbar, groups and even create new ones in Microsoft Access.

HOW TO CREATE A USER INTERFACE FOR YOUR DATABASE THROUGH THE SWITCHBOARD MANAGER
The switchboard manager includes built-in commands for common tasks, such as opening a table, form, query, report and macros. Macros can be created to initiate additional actions. It creates macro codes which are then tied to buttons on the switchboard.

You can create a switchboard from the scratch using an unbound form. However, MS Access provides a Switchboard Manager which automatically builds the code to make buttons work. I advise you to use the Switchboard Manager because also makes it easy to add new buttons, rearrange buttons, and delete buttons.

When you create a switchboard using the Switchboard Manager tool, Access creates a Switchboard Items table that describes what the buttons on the form display and what actions they perform. If you change your switchboard manually, the application may no longer work.

To Create a Switchboard in MS Access:
1. Click Switchboard Manager located in the Database Tools group under the Database Tools tab. A warning pops up if you have not previously created a switchboard for that particular database asking if you want to create a new switchboard. Just click the Yes button. Then the Switchboard Manager dialogue box pops up as shown below. This creates a Main Switchboard. You can either add all your switchboard commands to the Main Switchboard or create secondary switchboards.

NOTE:

If you cannot find the Switchboard Manager icon under the Database Tools tab in the Database Tools group, it means it is still hidden, so you need to add it under the Database Tools tab. Check the next subheading to see how to customize your tabs and add hidden command icons.

2. Click Edit to make changes to the Main Switchboard. Click New to create a secondary switchboard. This prompts the Create New dialog box appears. If you create secondary switchboards, make sure that each switchboard has a command to go back to the Main Switchboard.

3. Type the name of the new switchboard and click OK. Microsoft Access adds the switchboard to the list in the Switchboard Pages box.

NOTE:

To create additional secondary switchboards, repeat steps 2 through 3 and then click the Close button.

4. After you create your switchboard, you will have to add items or menu commands that perform various tasks such as opening forms and reports in the database. The items that you add to the switchboard appear as command buttons. To add new items or menu commands to the main switchboard, highlight it, click the Edit and then click the New button to add items to the switchboard. This prompts the Edit Switchboard Item dialogue box as shown below.

5. Customize the item by entering the name of the button, selecting the appropriate command, and then selecting the desired outcome of the command. Click OK when finished. Note that there are several built-in commands for common tasks.

NOTE:

To add other item or commands to the main switchboard, repeat steps 4 and 5. Click the Close button when you have finished adding items. Also note that you can re-arrange buttons on this screen by using the Move Up and Move Down buttons.

6. Click the Close button to close the Switchboard Manager dialogue box.

7. The Switchboard Manager automatically creates a Switchboard Items table. Display the Switchboard upon Start.

Below is the list of some available switchboard commands and the actions they perform.

1. Go to Switchboard: Opens a secondary switchboard.

2. Open Form in Add Mode: Opens a form in a mode that only allows new records to be added.

3. Open form in Edit Mode: Opens a form in a mode that allows any record to be added or edited.

4. Open Report: Opens a report in Print Preview.

5. Design Application: Opens the Switchboard Manager.

6. Exit Application: Closes the current database.

7. Run Macro: Runs a macro.

8. Run Code: Runs a Visual Basic function.

Note that you can add buttons and embedded macros to start your database components, and then set the form to appear at startup. I will show you how to achieve that in the next two sub titles below. For now let me show you how to customize tabs and add new command in them.

HOW TO CUSTOMIZE MS ACCESS TABS AND ADD HIDDEN COMMAND ICONS
By default, not all the necessary commands are displayed under the tabs and Quick Access toolbar. For example, the Switchboard Manager command is not found in the Database Tools group under the Database Tools tab by default. But you can add it to that tab or any other tab of your choice in MS Access. You can even create new custom tabs and groups under the tabs and then add your desired commands in them.

HOW TO PASSWORD PROTECT A DATABASE IN MS ACCESS
Below are the step by step guide to secure a database in Microsoft Access with a password.

To Password-protect a Database in MS Access:
1. Load MS Access into your pc memory. Close the database if it already open. Then click File > Open. This prompts the Open dialogue box.

2. Specify the location of the database you wish to open and select the database name.

3. Click the drop down menu beside the Open button and select Open Exclusive from the resulting options as shown below. Access opens the database in exclusive mode.

The above three steps are used to open a database in exclusive mode.
4. Click the File tab and then click Encrypt with Password. Optionally, you can add the Set Database Password command icon in the Quick Access toolbar, where it will be easily accessible.


5. To add the Set Database Password command icon to the Quick Access tool bar: click the File tab > Options. From the Access Options dialogue box, click Quick Access tool bar from the extreme left section of the dialogue box. Then click the Choose command from: drop down menu and select Commands Not in the Ribbon option from the resulting menu list. Then select Set Database Password from the sub-options and click the Add >> button to put it in the Quick Access tool bar. Finally click Ok as shown below.

NOTE:

You can further customize the Quick Access toolbar by adding some frequently used command in it simply by selecting the command from the Access Options dialogue box.

6. Click the Set Database Password command icon from the Quick Access toolbar located above the tab bar as shown below.

7. This prompts the Set Database Password dialogue box. Type in the password you wish to use to secure the database and re-type it for verification. Then click OK. A warning dialogue box displays. Click Ok to exit it.

HOW TO UNPROTECT MS ACCESS DATABASE (REMOVING THE PASSWORD)
For some reasons, you might want to change or remove (decrypt) the password from a database you previously password-protected. Un-protecting a database is the process of removing or un-setting a database password. Note that you must first open a protected database before you can be able to un-protect it. This means that you must know the password of the protected database before you can remove the password. You can also change the database password using the procedure below.

Macro is one of the objects of Microsoft Access database that is used to create actions that run sequentially i.e. in the order in which those actions are listed and they are of two types: Embedded and Standalone macros. Macro is used to add logic to your database and to automate repetitive tasks and to create more usable interfaces like the switchboard and other numerous tasks. Macros work hand in hand with Visual Basic and modules. In MS Access 2013 and above, you don’t really need an intense knowledge of Visual Basic coding to create a simple macro. GETTING STARTED WITH MACRO AND ITS FEATURES
The term macro is often used to refer to standalone macro objects (that is, the objects that you see under Macros in the Navigation Pane), but in reality, one macro object can contain multiple macros. In that case, it is referred to as a macro group.

A macro group is displayed in the Navigation Pane as a single macro object, but a macro group actually contains more than one macro. Of course, it is possible to create each macro in a separate macro object, but often it makes sense to group several related macros into a single macro object. The name in the Macro Name column identifies each macro.

A macro consists of individual macro actions. Most actions require one or more arguments. In addition, you can assign names to each macro in a macro group, and you can add conditions to control how each action is run. The following sections discuss each of these features in more detail.

Macro Names:
If your macro object contains only one macro, macro names are unnecessary. You can just refer to the macro by the name of the macro object. However, in the case of a macro group, you must assign a unique name to each macro. If the Macro Name column is not visible in the Macro Builder, click Macro Names in the Show/Hide group on the Design tab.

Arguments:
An argument is a value that provides information to the action, such as what string to display in a message box, which control to operate on, and so on. Some arguments are required, and some others are optional. Arguments are visible in the Action Arguments pane at the bottom of the Macro Builder.

The Arguments column was introduced into Access 2007, which allows you to view (but not edit) an action's arguments on the same line as the action. This makes it a little easier to read your macro because you no longer need to select each action to display its arguments. To display the Arguments column, click Arguments in the Show/Hide group on the Design tab.

Conditions:
A condition specifies certain criteria that must be met before an action will be performed. You can use any expression that evaluates to True/False or Yes/No. The action will not be executed if the expression evaluates to False, No, or 0 (zero). If the expression evaluates to any other value, the action will be run.

You can have one condition control more than one action by typing an ellipsis (...) in the Condition column for each subsequent action that you want the condition to apply to. If the expression evaluates to False, No, or 0 (zero), none of the actions are performed. If the condition evaluates to any other value, all of the actions are performed.

Macro Actions:
Actions are the basic building blocks of macros. Access provides a large number of actions from which to choose, enabling a wide variety of commands. For example, some of the more commonly used actions can open a report, find a record, display a message box, or apply a filter to a form or report.

Temporary Variables:
These three macro actions (SetTempVar, RemoveTempVar, and RemoveAllTempVars) allow you to create and use temporary variables in your macros. You can use these in conditional expressions to control running macros, or to pass data to and from reports or forms, or for any other purpose that requires a temporary storage place for a value. These temporary variables are also accessible in VBA, so you can also use them to communicate data to and from VBA modules.

Embedded Macros:
This gives you the ability to embed macros in any of the events provided by a form, report, or control. An embedded macro is not visible in the Navigation Pane; it becomes part of the form, report, or control in which it was created. If you create a copy of a form, report, or control that contains embedded macros, the macros are also present in the copy.

Standalone Macros:
From MS Access 2007 and later versions, a macro or macro group can be contained in a macro object (sometimes called a standalone macro), or a macro can be embedded into any event property of a form, report, or control. Embedded macros become part of the object or control in which they are embedded. Standalone macros are visible in the Navigation Pane, under Macros; embedded macros are not.
